"If you don't mind me asking…." Connor trailed off. "Did you honestly prepare for this night?"

He was curious and almost chuckled at the fact that Madeleine could organize herself fully. He wondered how she did it all in just one evening.

"And when did you buy your dress?" he added and attempted a smile as he saw Madeleine's cheeks reddened. It looks adorable but also a little odd.

"Oh, don't worry. I bought this dress last year... from my friend," she reasoned, hoping to sound convincing.

He nodded in acknowledgment.

The night was well-spent, especially for the both of them, with many storied shared between each other.
