Chapter 13. Girl for tonight

"You can call me Madeleine," she said in a very charming tone, enough to seize Señor Leonardo's attention.

"Wow! You are Madeleine, my son's precious girl?" Señor Leonardo asked with genuine amazement. "You're stunning, lady. Can I give you a hug?"

Madeleine blushed lightly at the commendation and offered him an affirmative nod before looking over to make sure Mr. Harrington looked fine.

She stepped toward the old man, and he enveloped her in a big bear hug which she didn't mind as much. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Sir."

"No. Just call me dad." he smiled.

"Sure, dad." she chuckled lightly until Mr. Harrington finally cleared his throat, breaking the moment between them.

"Hi, darling!" Madeleine greeted him, which made him smile.

"I thought you weren't coming," he said, slightly disappointed but still smiling.

"Well, I'm here now, aren't I?" she teased back and rolled her eyes playfully.
