Chapter 7
Ethan's mind was a whirlwind of emotions as he drove himself to the venue. In all honesty, he'd hoped he had followed all traffic laws on his way because he'd driven on autopilot, his mind too busy to remember if he'd stopped at lights or signs. He knew he needed to focus on tonight's events. Although he felt the night belonged to Emma, he knew he had friends, family and acquaintances who would be there to wish him well and as the future Alpha he needed to be present. He needed to show he was strong and a leader, not some sad sap who seemed to be lost in his own thoughts.

"Ethan, can you come here a minute?" Ethan heard the familiar voice of Bella, his lab partner in his high school chemistry class. The thought of Brian being welcomed into the party was not a thought that he found welcoming. "Hi Bella, how's it going?"
