For what seemed like forever, it seemed like I wasn't just in control of anything about me.

Just this heavy darkness that felt like thick water, like I was floating somewhere I couldn’t see or touch. Sometimes it felt like I was sinking, sometimes like I was just… suspended. No days. No nights. Just one long stretch of nothing that refused to end.

But in between that nothing, there were moments.

A warm pressure on my fingers.
