Of course, Venus' words took everyone in the room by surprise. They all turned to look at Alan, who, of course, was known by everyone as the alpha, the supreme leader of their pack.

"Venus, you can't act recklessly," said Valerie, who was currently standing next to Alan. "It's not all Alan's fault. It's all my fault; I shouldn't have kept Alan by my side because-"

"Have you realized how she brags about himself in front of me, Alan?" Venus asked Alan. Yes, she didn't care whether Valerie had finished all her sentences or not; all she cared about right now was that she wanted to say all the anger that was in her heart.

Alan now walked forward towards Venus. "It's all my fault; I accept all your anger, but please don't leave. I will work through all my mistakes; please stay with me," he pleaded while bowing his head.

Venus smiled sarcastically; she pointed at Alan's chest, who was now in front of her. "You feel guilty but don't want me to leave? Do you think after experiencing all these bad things that I can still forgive you?"

Alan raised his head. "I promise that I will avenge our daughter, and I will not make the same mistake. Please give me a second chance. I promise to make up for all my mistakes."

"Maybe you don't know, but I've given you a chance many times. I let myself and Aurel become the laughing stock of everyone just to let you keep your ridiculous promise," Venus said, then let out a long sigh. She lowered her hand and turned to stare at Valerie. "Don't you love Valerie's child very much? Now that we're not in a relationship, you can be with him."

"No, I love you very much. I don't-" Alan stopped talking when Venus raised a hand, signaling him to stop talking.

Then Venus looked back at Alan.

"Alright, stop talking about that useless stuff," she said as she took a step forward so that she was right in front of Alan. Then she turned to Valerie, who was standing not far behind Alan. "Didn't you say that you wanted us to get back together, am I right?"

"Right," Alan replied quickly.

"How about I ask for Valerie's life as a token of our peace? She's going to be put to death for intentionally embarrassing a luna; isn't that something worth it?" Venus asked, then looked back at Alan with a sardonic gaze.

Suddenly Valerie fell to the floor at Venus' request.

"Please don't do that, Mrs. Venus. I have a young child; she was just born yesterday. Please be kind to us," Valerie said in a pleading tone.

But Venus did not care about Valerie's words; she now continued to stare at Alan in front of her with hatred in her heart.

"As a luna, you don't deserve to ask for something like that. Moreover, Valerie is a mother like you," Alan said in a tone that tried to remain calm.

A cynical smile appeared on Venus' lips. "But I'm no longer a mother; my daughter died because of her father, who... ah, well, stop thinking about that rotten thing. How about I offer you another option?"

"What?" Alan asked.

Venus took three steps back. "I will return to you if you will give your power as alpha to your brother."

Alan's eyes rounded at Venus' words. "Leon," he said as he looked into Venus' eyes with a surprised expression.

"Did someone call me?" said Leon, who appeared from the side door of the hall.

Alan immediately glanced at Leon. 'So her attitude changed because of Leon's influence,' he thought as he looked back at Venus. He moved forward to get closer to Venus.

But Leon used his power to get next to Venus within a second.

"You," Alan growled as Leon reached Venus faster than him.

"Since when are you guys together?" Asked Alan while giving Leon a sharp look.

"Since yesterday," Venus replied quickly.

Alan looked back at Venus. He didn't expect that Venus would answer like that. "Why?"

"Why? What do you mean by why?" Venus suddenly took out a penknife and pointed it right in front of Alan's neck.

All the guests stood up, their eyes widened, and their bodies stiffened at the sight.

"You must never want to know who the person who saved me was. How did I get out of that place alive when all those guards you're so proud of are dead? How did I get Aurel's body out of that mansion in one piece?" A sardonic smile appeared on Venus' lips again.

"I know your purpose for coming here is just to relieve your guilt; you just don't want to be seen as guilty for abandoning your child and partner to look after another woman. Isn't what I'm saying the right thing?" Venus said all that with anger. But a moment later she smiled bitterly, tears clearly wanting to fall, but she held them back. "I'm sorry to disappoint you; I don't believe in the sincerity you show because I am the one who knows your true nature. You are still the one responsible for my daughter's death. I will not let you go, just as I will not let go of the people who harmed her."

All the guests whispered about this.

Then Valerie advanced towards Alan. 'This is the right moment; I must seize this moment to make them really separate,' she thought while showing a troubled expression on her face.

"Mrs. Venus, please don't say such things. Mr. Alan is a man who truly loves you, you-" Valerie stopped talking because Alan suddenly raised his hand.

"We've been together, so you must know how much I love you. I'm very sincere to you and Aurel; you don't forget all the things we've been through together," Alan said as he continued to look into Venus' eyes.

A moment later, Leon wrapped his arms around Venus' body and brought her head to rest against him. "Calm down," he said softly.

Then Venus lowered her hand that was holding the knife. Alan, meanwhile, could only stand by and watch.

"Guards, take Mr. Alan and Miss Valerie out as the funeral is about to begin!" Leon ordered calmly.

Now he was staring at each other with Alan, a stare that contained the hostility they had always shown since they were children.

While on Alan's side, Valerie was currently hugging Alan's arm. Alan immediately turned to Valerie, who was looking at him gently.

"We'd better get out first; it's not good to make a scene at Aurel's funeral," Valerie coaxed gently.

"Yes," Alan replied with a small nod.

Then Alan turned around to leave the place.

Meanwhile, Valerie now looked at Venus and smiled a small smile that showed the mockery behind it. 'She was very foolish to reject Alan and change into a relationship with a bastard who only owns a small company. But this foolishness of hers is very much in my favor, so I don't need to play tricks to get rid of her,' she thought as she turned around and followed Alan out of the hall.

Meanwhile, at this time, Venus and Leon were still staring at Alan and Valerie.

"Are you starting to regret rejecting an alpha?" Asked Leon, who was still embracing Venus' body.

"I regret not doing this earlier," replied Venus while tightly gripping the knife in her hand.

"Good. Now you better concentrate on burying Aurel first," said Leon as he brought Venus' body around, looking back at the fake Aurel coffin.

Venus gave a small nod and then walked slowly back towards the fake Aurel coffin. Meanwhile, Leon was currently staring intently to his left and right, signaling for everyone in the room to sit back down.

An hour passed; the funeral process was over. All the people who came to pay their last respects had left; now only Venus and Leon were left.

"Is everything finished?" asked Venus as she turned to Leon, who was currently standing beside her.

Leon had yet to answer Venus' question, but suddenly a ringtone came from the cell phone in Leon's pants pocket.

"What's wrong?" asked Leon when he just picked up the call.

Venus glanced at Leon; she saw a sardonic smile appear on Leon's lips as he listened to the person on the call.

"Of course, let them in," Leon said after a moment of silent listening.

After that, Leon calmly turned off the call and put his cell phone back in his pants pocket.

What happened? That was the sentence Venus wanted to say at the moment, but she chose to hold back her desire to ask because she didn't want to be seen as meddling too much in Leon's problems.

However, Leon suddenly bent his body slightly and then whispered in Venus' ear. "Get ready."

Venus' pupils dilated for a second as she heard Leon's words, then she asked, "Who's coming?"

"Of course it's them, the biggest risk you have to face when doing this funeral," Leon replied as he stood up straight again.

Venus, who was already prepared, immediately took the folding knife belonging to the man in front of her with a quick movement. The man in front of Venus was so surprised, he immediately looked back at Venus. "Shit!" The man shouted when Venus managed to cut his arm with her own knife. The other men immediately looked back at Venus as she stood up and gripped the knife of one of her friends tightly."Let me out of here and I won't tell anyone about what you're doing here," said Venus who was now alert and in a ready position to attack. One of the men smiled mockingly. "Do you think we are stupid? If you manage to leave this place then your men will surely find us and kill us," he said casually. Venus then glanced at the exit of the old factory which was currently closed. 'It looks like I won't be able to get out of this place if I don't defeat them first,' Venus thought as she gripped the knife in her hand tighter as it was her o

Fifteen minutes passed; by this time, Venus had just arrived at the courtyard of a restaurant. She got out of the car while carrying a file in her hand. There was nothing suspicious during the trip to the restaurant; even now the restaurant courtyard was quite crowded with visitors. Venus, who felt the atmosphere around her was safe, relaxed her vigilance. She walked quickly towards the entrance of the restaurant."Excuse me, are you Mrs. Venus?" asked a woman who was currently wearing a typical waitress uniform. The woman intercepted Venus when Venus was almost at the entrance of the restaurant."Yes, I am Venus. Who are you and what's wrong?" Asked Venus, who felt strange about it.Then the woman bowed her body. "I am the waitress of this restaurant who was assigned by the manager to wait for you," replied the woman calmly."Wait for me?" Venus wrinkled her forehead."That's right, ma'am. The manager said that I should take you to one o

Seven hours later, Venus had just finished taking a shower. She sat in front of the dressing table mirror inside the walk-in-closet in her room. She stayed in front of the vanity mirror for a few minutes to think about Leon's words this afternoon."He's willing to help me, but on the condition that once I get my parents' company back, then I will officially use his last name," Venus muttered while looking at her own face in the mirror.'Doesn't that mean I'll be officially married to him, and that will keep my company within the Delmonte family? It's like I just transferred my family's company from Alan's hands to Leon's, Venus thought as she clenched her fists. But my family's company won't be able to stand without the help of others either. My family's company would be instantly destroyed if I suddenly took it away and I managed it myself because right now my family's company is already on the verge of collapse. And all this is because of Alan.'Venus sm

Venus looked back at Leon, but her current sitting position was still the same, leaning casually on the back of the chair she was sitting on. "Of course I heard about it when I was with Alan; I thought you already knew that Alan had sent some spies in your company."Leon then let go of Venus' neck. "I knew that there were some people who were Alan's spies in this company, but the drug development project was something very secret and only a few people knew about it, so of course one of the important people around me was Alan's spy, and this is something that surprised me a lot because the people I worked with in this drug development project were people I trusted a lot," he replied while looking away to think about it.Venus listened to Leon's words while rubbing her neck, which had just been pressed by Leon's hand. "Yes, maybe you should check about this if indeed the people who can find out about this project are the people you trust the most," Venus said in a ca

"Actually, Venus had another man after parting ways with you and before being with me," Alan said in a casual tone.Leon frowned at Alan's words. "What do you mean?""There's one man she'll probably never forget in her life for getting her body before me. I was surprised to hear his confession, but I accepted him wholeheartedly because I chose to love him," Alan replied while glancing at Leon for a moment."Did Venus not tell you who that man was?" Leon asked calmly."I didn't let Venus say it because at the time she looked distressed when she was about to say that person. But with her current attitude, this could backfire on you, so I wanted to tell you this so that you can be careful from this side," said Alan casually.'So he wants to ruin mine and Venus' relationship from this side,' Leon thought with a cynical smile.'But it's a shame that he doesn't know who the man who won Venus' heart was for the first time,' he thought.

After exiting the study, Venus immediately frowned at the three men currently standing in front of Remi. Venus immediately walked quickly after Leon, who was currently already walking towards Remi."What happened to make my brother come here at break time like today?" Asked Leon, who was currently pretending to be friendly.Remi, who heard Leon's voice, immediately stepped aside so as not to block the view between Leon and the man who insisted on meeting Leon at this time even though he had said that Leon could not be disturbed."I feel that you spoil your men so much that they dare to defy your brother," said Alan, who was currently walking past Remi casually while keeping his eyes on Leon.Leon then glanced at Remi. "No, he did his job right. I honestly don't want to be disturbed at the moment; after all, the reaction he showed was very appropriate because seeing someone come to my place while carrying two of his men seemed like someone who deli
