ADRIANO WATCHED AS his daughter walked into the inner office. Avery did not spare him a glance as she closed the door solidly behind them. The door was very soundproof, so he could not hear anything that was going on in there, but he hoped it was good.

He remembered how Avery's facial expression and body language had changed when he asked about her personal life. He felt it was only normal that he should know more about the woman whom he was entrusting the mental health of his daughter to, but she had been quick to send him out after that.

He frowned. Was she hiding anything, and what could she be hiding? He asked himself.

She was not married. He did not see any ring on her finger. Or did she normally take them off during work hours?
