Chapter 24

IVY’S POV

My eyes are still weak but a little bit better. I am lying almost dead on the floor. Though I feel a little better after what Taika sprayed in my face.

My whole body is sore and my lips and face are pale. I scrunch on the concrete ground, clinging dust on my skin. My whole body is weak and I am dehydrated.

I overturn my eyes open and try getting up from the ground. I stagger and still collapse. I try again, after a grunt with my hand pressed on the ground, I teeter my legs around till I manage to get a strong stance. I inhale and exhale as I manage to stand, tilting from left to right. The only thing I can hear is crickets chirping.

The whole place is quiet and the fire in the furnace is a little diminished. I feel cold too and shivering. My lips are dry and strong like a rock. Some parts of my lips are even peeling off.

With my right palm, I brush the dust from my shirt and my face. My stomach rumbles so loud and aggressively. I look around and don’t even know where to go
