Chapter Six – Know your place

~•MOBALI•~

I growl in outrage, slamming him to the other side of the room, still tied to the chair, blood oozing out of his forehead.

“You don't get to ask the questions, warden,” Kenan says to him, pulling his chair up and putting it in place.

“Your Majesty, please,” he begged, it sounded like music to my ears.

“So, what did you do to her?”

“What?”

“Explain it to me,” I demand.

“I pushed her to the wall…”

“Pushed her? With what?”

“With m-my hands.” I stared at the tray of torture devices.

“Which hand?”

“Huh?”

“Which hand was that?” I asked again, “m-my right hand”

I hummed, picking up a silver axe and turning towards him.

I slammed the axe into his wrists, cutting off his right hand in the process.

“Ahh!!!” He screamed, squirming in anguish as the silver seeped into his open wound.

I passed the axe to Kenan, who cleaned it with a cloth, placing the axe back in its position.

“Your majesty please, if I had known she was your mate, I wouldn't have touched her, I swear.” He whines, muffling a cry.

“I gave an order, that no harm should come to any of the she-wolves captured from the defeated pack, whether she was my mate or not, you disobeyed that order,” I said tauntingly.

He shakes his head, “I'm sorry, I just-.”

His jaw moves to try to find the right words, but can't.

“So, what happened next?”

“I asked her to shut the fuck up, and I called her a bitch.”

“What else?”

“I kicked her to the ground and slammed her back into the cell.”

Irritated, I picked a silver-coated knife. I look over to Kenan who nods, walking to the warden and jabbing his mouth wide open.

I pull out his tongue, slowly ting it. Not only that, but I threw the gland into the trash, watching as he choked on his blood.

I wasn't done with him, I picked up a knife that had been on fire for an hour now. Likewise, I stabbed his feet as he writhed in pain.

He couldn't yell or scream, hot tears poured out of his eyes.

I made marks all over his body, he shook in agony, squirming and sobbing.

“Hang him,” I say to Kenan who smirks, loosening the warden and putting a rope over his neck.

He pulls the rope as the warden chokes him, and blood pools around his mouth while he suffocates.

“Release him.” Kenan lets go of the rope, making the warden land on the cold floor.

He tries to crawl away and I step on his hand-less limb.

Blood gurgling, he cried out, making me feel complacent.

“I'm letting you live, not out of pity, but as a warning to others, Too bad you live but don't get to 'tell' the tale,” I say to him, his head hanging low.

“Know your place, warden, Bloody mess.”

“I'll get him and this place cleaned up,” Kenan suggests, and I walk out of the dungeon breathing fresh air.

I recollect that there is a she-wolf in my chambers who are 'supposed' to be my second chance mate.

And I don't want one.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The conference hall was unsettled as all the council members discussed the Supreme Alpha King's second chance mate.
As I stepped into the hall, everywhere went silent, not even a pin drop could be heard.
“The moon goddess has remembered the Crescent Hills Tribe today by sending us another Luna!” One of the council members spoke.
“Finally, we can have an heir to the throne!” Another spoke up.
I rubbed my temples, “I do not want a mate,”
All eyes turned in my direction, silence taking over the room again.
“Your majesty it is essential to have a Luna, it will strengthen our pack and also secure our throne. Besides this isn't random choosing the moon goddess gave you a second chance mate, you cannot reject that.” The Supreme Zeta, Rowan Michelson, spoke up with some council members nodding.
“I agree with Sir Rowan, the tribe really needs a mother figure,” another council member said.
I sigh, standing up and facing the long glass windows, staring at the central city. I do not want a second chance mate, in couldn't bring myself to loving someone else or even having an heir with them, my heart only belongs to one, and she is gone.
“Please consider it, your majesty!” Sir Rowan yells, bowing to me.
“Please consider it, your majesty!” The majority of the council members joined Rowan bowing, while those not in favor stood on their feet.
“Fine, for the good of the tribe and kingdom.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I barged into my chambers, looking around to see a maid helping Aret, wrapping a towel around her head.

“I can do it myself,”

“No, Luna, let me.” The maid retorted, Aret sighs.

She looks into the mirror seeing my presence “supreme alpha,” she greets bowing her head, the maid doing the same.

“Leave us,”

The maid scurried out of the room, closing the door on her way out.

I could sense the fear and nervousness around Aret as sweat trickled down her forehead.

I placed my hand on her chin, raising it forward.

“I don't want you.”

She gasps, her blue eyes widening in the process.

“I don't want you and I certainly do not want a mate either, but the moon goddess has decided to terrorize me.” I snapped at her, making her flinch.

“But my council members think it would be good for the tribe and kingdom to have a Luna, and I will always do what's best for the kingdom.”

She tries to take her chin off my hands, which I let go of.

“A personal maid will be assigned to you, and you will be directed to your chambers.”

I say about to walk out, “I am not accepting you as my mate, but as the Luna of the tribe, the supreme Luna of the werewolf kingdom, I expect you to adapt to your position, beta's daughter.”

I knew she was the daughter of the beta from the defeated tribe. One of the reasons that made me accept her.

“Bu-”

“Know your place,”

With that said, I walk out of the room.

    ~.KAERLIA .~I kept breathing into the paper bag as I could feel my insides churning. I was already nauseous and the day hadn't even begun.“I need another paper bag,” I mutter to Diana who ignores me and keeps massaging my shoulders. “Just take deep breaths, and calm down.” It was easier said than done.“The outfit is here!” I gasped, standing up from my seat as Laurel walked in with my dress in her hand. I smiled as I walked into the closet and Velia and Diana helped me put it on.The base of the gown was a rich, deep shade of royal blue, akin to the vast, starry night sky. It shimmered with a subtle luminescence as if tiny stars were embedded within the fabric itself. The gown was designed to flow gracefully around my figure, accentuating my natural elegance and poise. The bodice was adorned with intricate embroidery, resembling delicate lacework that mirrored the intricate patterns of frost on a winter morning. It sparkled with tiny crystal beads that caught the light, creating

    ~. .~With her new wings and reinvigorated determination, Kaerlia swiftly materialized to Crescent Hills. Hovering over Mobali's lifeless body, she channeled her newfound power and the grace of the Moon Goddess to bring him back from the brink of death."Kaerlia," Mobali whispered as life coursed back into him, his eyes filled with a mix of relief and devotion.With a warm smile, Kaerlia brushed her fingers across his cheek. "I need you and the guys to help me out."Mobali nodded, realizing the gravity of the situation. With renewed strength and resolve, Kaerlia soared toward Liliana, who was standing on top of a cliff staring boredly at the destruction she created. She confronted the demon queen, her fiery sword blazing with determination."Liliana!" Kaerlia's voice rang out through the chaos, echoing across the battlefield. Liliana turned to face her, a wicked smile on her lips."Ahh, little freak, you're still alive, and you got new wings," Liliana taunted, her

White flowers adorned the landscape, and ethereal trees stood with creatures soaring among them. The moon hung large and close in the sky, casting a gentle glow over everything. Kaerlia felt an overwhelming sense of peace, and her body was no longer stained with blood. She was dressed in a beautiful white gown adorned with delicate lace, her white hair flowing freely around her.A soft, familiar voice called her name, and she turned to find the source. Her eyes locked onto another pair of eyes, eyes she thought she would never see again."Mom?" Kaerlia asked with tears in her eyes, her voice quivering with emotion as she ran to embrace Khione, her mother."Oh, my baby, stop crying. You've been crying a lot lately," Khione comforted her, patting Kaerlia's back as she held her close."Mom, but I thought you were dead," Kaerlia said, her voice filled with

    ~. .~In the dark and eerie throne room of Liliana, the wails of tormented souls echoed ominously, creating an unsettling atmosphere. Mobali and the others, including Aidan, materialized in this sinister place, surrounded by the malevolent presence of demons.Liliana, seated upon her throne of skulls, greeted them with a chilling smile. Mobali's eyes blazed with anger as he looked at Aidan, who stood beside Liliana, his head bowed in submission.“Aidan, you side with her?”"He has no choice, Mobali," Liliana taunted, her voice dripping with wicked satisfaction.Mobali's gaze turned back to Liliana. "I wasn't talking to you, demon," he spat, his voice laced with a mix of rage and frustration. Liliana, being a demon herself, remained unfazed by his alpha authority, which would have affected a werewolf.As Mobali frantically scanned the room for Kaerlia, Liliana harnessed her dark powers. The ground rumbled, and Kaerlia emerged from a fissure in the floor. She was bound in si

    ~. MOBALI.~As I wake up, the bright light from the window hits my eyes. I run my hand through Kaerlia's side of the bed, but it's cold. I jolt, sniffing the room. Her scent has faded, which means she has been gone for hours, possibly days.How long have I been asleep?I look at the bedside table, and there lies a piece of paper. I pick it up and read its contents, "Dear Mobali, by the time you're reading this letter, it could have been days since I left for hell. I'm sorry, but I can't sit back and watch the werewolf race crumble. Please don't come after me, and I love you." I grip hard onto the piece of paper.Rising from the bed, I took a quick shower and dressed in my armor. Anger and determination coursed through my veins. I had to find her, I had to bring her back. How could she? How couldn't she see through Liliana’s plots? My heart clenched at the thought of her being dead already. "Guards! Open this door!" I roared, pounding on the unyielding brass doors.
