FROST’S POV

I watched as Jackson dozed off in my arms, his hair sticking to his sweat-streaked face. I smiled when he mumbled something in his sleep, shifting onto his side.

I was about to push a few strands away from his face when I froze mid-air.

An electric current shot straight through my brain.

Kieran.

He was trying to contact me.

I looked down at Jackson and planted a soft kiss on his forehead before slipping out of bed and pulling a shirt over my head.

I’d completely forgotten about Kiera

JACKSON’S POV“Not to ruin you two’s very touching moment,” Kieran started, folding his arms into his chest, “but what are we going to do about the very obvious problem?”“And by obvious problem, you mean…?”“Silas, Nether.” Kieran pinched the bridge of his nose. “It’s obvious he’s bad news.”Nether slowly stood, stretching out his back.“He is an obvious problem, but we’re not going to do anything about it.”Kieran raised a brow.“Look, we need Silas and his Pack more than anything now that Father is on board. So for now, we suck it up and don’t say anything.”Nether turned toward me.“And you… keep leading him on. He’s obviously attracted to you, and as long as you continue being in the picture, he’ll continue to help us.”My cheeks instantly reddened.“Lead… lead him on?!” I squealed. “It… it isn’t like that between me and Silas. And are you telling me to cheat on frost?”“It’s not cheating… it’s making sure he stays interested.”“And I thought you didn’t even like Silas?!” I shot.

JACKSON’S POVConsciousness slowly crept in as my eyes peeled open. Then it hit me, the most piercing, excruciating pain I’d ever felt in my entire life throbbed through my head.A low groan escaped my throat from the sheer intensity of it.“It hurts,” I found myself whispering as I slowly forced my eyes open.My vision was blurry at first until the stone ceiling above me slowly came into focus.Where was I exactly? My mouth felt dry, and no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t remember a single thing. I willed myself upright, only for a pair of arms to wrap around my back and support me.“You’re finally awake,” Silas muttered, relief washing over his face the moment our eyes met.“What…what happened? Where am I?” I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.“You suddenly collapsed in the hallway. I didn’t know what else to do, so I brought you to the healing quarters.”The healing quarters?Oh.He meant the infirmary.Just then, the door swung open and Kieran walked into the room. He sto

NETHER’S POVMy eyes locked on Father. I thought I’d feel differently after not seeing him for an entire month. He’d grown much thinner. Paler too. His eyes were dark and sullen. He looked awful.I’d genuinely believed I’d feel a little pity in the least. But I didn’t.I felt nothing.Nothing except pure…Unprecedented hatred. It had always been that way. From as far back as I could remember, he’d always treated me differently. And if he thought I’d forgotten, then he’d taken me as more than a fool.At first, we had a pretty okay father-son relationship. But then I noticed it. I could see it in everything he did. The preferential treatment. The way he acted like I practically didn’t exist. And that was when he began putting all his focus on Caelan. At just five years old, he was already drilling the poor boy in every shape, way, and form. He was either studying, training, being lectured, punished, or scolded while I just sat in a corner, watching it all.Watching my brother’s childhoo

AUTHOR'S POV"Let go of me!" seraphina snapped. "I said let go!"The four men dragged Seraphina through the lower corridors while she struggled against them, twisting and pulling with all the strength she had left while kaia kept well behind the guards, matching her steps to theirs so the sound of her footsteps disappeared beneath the heavy thud of their boots."Please, Your Grace," one of the guards replied, his grip never loosening. "Don't make this harder for us."Seraphina shot him a furious glare, but the suppression cuffs around her wrists had already weakened her. No matter how much she fought or whined, she couldn't break free.As the guards turned a corner, Kaia quickly slipped against the wall and waited. She counted under her breath before following again. The corridor ahead was unfamiliar. It was narrower than the others, the air colder. At the very end stood a thick iron door reinforced with dark steel bars.Kaia's stomach sank. She recognized the faint pulse of suppressi

AUTHOR’S POVSeraphina’s world felt like it was tilting on its axis“You…you used me,” her voice cracked.“We equipped you,” Greymond corrected. “We gave you purpose after humiliation. We gave you the authority to pursue the man who shamed you publicly. We gave you permission to channel your grief into something useful.” Tilting his head, he regarded her calmly. “Are you telling me that wasn’t what you wanted?”It had been what she wanted. She had walked into this council burning w

AUTHOR’S POVPresent dayElder Greymond sat at the head of the long stone table, flanked on either side by the rest of the council.Elders Darius, Valen, Soren, and Ormund. They looked every bit the wise men Frostfang believed them to be. Tall, broad-shouldered, and dignified despite their age, their long white hair tied neatly into low buns, ceremonial robes draped over their imposing frame —robes meant to symbolize strength, wisdom, and honor.Supposedly.The room fell silent until Elder Greymond finally spoke not bothering to look up from the map."What's happening with our scouts, Valen?"“Already stationed,” Valen replied.“And the plan progression?”“Nearly eighty percent of Winter’s Crest has been brought under our mercy.” Soren shifted in his seat, unable to hide the satisfaction in his voice. “It’s only a matter of time before every inch of that pack will be ours.”“Yes, the board has already been set. We need only wait for the final piece to move itself into place,” Elder Gr
