CHAPTER 1

“Ahh, the smell of coffee beans in the morning is my absolute favorite,” she said as she put the coffee beans in the coffee maker and got the stuff ready. She went to turn the sign and put on her apron. She started working at the cafe a couple of months after she moved to Nova Scotia. Her boss has trusted her with the keys to the cafe and other important stuff. This was Sydney’s first work and first time living alone. She was scared at first about moving away and she would cry for her mom but her mom would calm her down. Her father died when she was a young omega. She missed him but she grew up and would kiss the necklace she gave him. She went back to the cash register and waited for the customers to come in.

Jacob was up after a long night of partying. He got up and saw a Beta sleeping on the floor and he got angry and worked her and signaled her to go. He didn't like when they would stay over and occupy his space. Often the girls would leave his house angry and curse at him while they left but he didn’t care because he knew they were angry at the fact that they didn’t get his money. He started his business at the age of twenty with his best friend Kevin but Kevin gave him all the shares in the business and decided to work on a project for himself.

Jacob went to the bathroom and went in the shower to wash off the beat’s scent. After he was finished he went and put on his suit and went downstairs and saw that his car windows were damaged and he sighed and put his hands at his waist and shook his head.

“Wow, classic! Total this car because I don’t have any more to drive, FUNNY,” he said to himself and he went to his garage and took out a Lambogini and drove out and called his mechanic and told him about the car and that he should pick it up from the house and the mechanic agreed. Since he didn’t have breakfast, he decided to stop at the cafe and get a coffee and a sandwich there.

He finally reached the cafe and he put on his sunglasses and got out of his car and went into the cafe. All heads turned and they were all whispering. Some were flirting with him and the others were biting their lips. He smirked and stood behind a customer that was ordering. The customer ordered and went to the other side of the counter. It was now Jacob’s turn.

“Good Morning, Welcome to Sunrise Cafe, where everything is freshly done, what can I get you this morning?” Sydney asked not to look up at him as yet. Jacob looked at the menu and didn't know what to order so he looked at her and smiled.

“Why don’t you pick out your favorite item from the menu for me?” He asked with his deep voice. She was confused so she looked up at him and saw his beautiful face and blushed and he smiled.

“Oh- um- well, my favorite item is the Bacon, ham, and cheese breakfast sandwich and a Chai Latte,” she said. It was like she was in a trance while talking to him. He nodded and took out his wallet and paid for it and she looked.

“Well, aren’t you gonna take it? I want what you just said,” He said and she took it and cashed the item, and gave him the receipt. She went and did the orders for the customers. Jacob sensed that the cashier liked him so he wrote his number down and walked out leaving her awe-struck and could believe this guy had given his number to her. She put the paper in her pocket and resumed working

Once the order was ready she gave it to the customers and they went to sit down. She gave Jacob his order and he slipped the paper in her hands and winked at her and walked out. She held the paper and saw the number and blushed and smiled.

Nia moved to Nova Scotia with Sydney because she didn’t want her friend to be alone. She worked at a bookstore. The bookstore was close to the cafe. Ever since Nia started working on the book store more Alphas came into the store. Some of the Alphas were there to buy a book and talked to her while the rest just came in to ask her out on a date. She would always decline their offer but that didn’t stop them from trying again and again.

Kevin was on his way to the bookstore so he could get a book for his baby sister. He loved his sister and would do anything for her. When he reached the store he saw a lot of Alphas in there and was confused so he went in and didn't see Nia behind the desk because they were surrounding her. He went for the book and looked around for anything he might need. After some time the sea of Alphas left and he saw Nia and went to her and she smiled and looked at him.

“Well, I haven’t seen you here before~,” she said in her flirty tone and rang up the books for him and took out a card. He smiled and looked at her while leaning on the counter.

“Well, I could say the same thing. I never saw so many Alphas in one place before,” He said and she smiled and gave him the book. Something about her was pulling him in and he didn’t understand what it was.

“Well, what can I say? I brought all the Alphas in,” She said and he smiled. She handed him the book and smiled, he smiled and walked out. He knew that this bookstore was gonna be his favorite place as of now.
