Raphael’s POV

"I'd like to know more about you."

I'd come to react to this question as if it were an atomic bomb going off in front of me. I had been spending more and more time with Sienna and less with my lover, Isabella. That was only natural, because Isabella was gradually turning into a nag with each passing day. Her presence was no longer the spark of joy it had once been. The only thing that kept her around was the lingering memory of our past together.

But now, with Sienna, she was merely a temporary bandage over a wound that refused to heal.

I had come to see her in the same motel. It turned out she worked at a bar not too far away from there.

Having her as an occasional fling was fine. In fact, it was far better compared to Isabella’s presence. However, it didn’t seem like Sienna was as excited about this relationship as I was. She kept wanting to deepen it, to stretch what she actually meant to me, but that was completely unnecessary.

What we had was good and fun.
