CHAPTER FOUR

-SPRING VALLEY-

(Third POV)

In the middle of Spring Valley's wilderness, there was a sizable private property that was off-limits to regular people. It was surrounded by barbed wire and iron fences, which piqued the interest of passers-by hunting for wild animals. They occasionally attempted to sneak in but were quickly apprehended by the men patrolling and securing the entire area.

An old man witnessed a human transforming into a large dog one day, and word spread. They eventually avoided that section of the woods because they were afraid of disturbing the entity or whatever lurked there.

Without anyone's knowledge, the land is home to more than just an element, but also a pack of werewolves led by a volatile alpha. And at that moment, his loud grumble blended in with the insect and bird's screech. Thanus Morgan, the Dark Moon pack's alpha, appeared disgruntled. Everyone could hear his voice booming inside the packhouse, and later, a wooden table flew out of his office window and smashed to the ground. As the poor thing broke up, it created a crashing sound.

"Fucking mutts! How dare those fools defy my law! I am Dark Moon's alpha, and they should obey me!" he roared like a ferocious beast.

Neru Craig, the beta who was with him in the alpha's office, scurried out of the room as if he were being pursued by a swarm of demons. His pale face was covered in fear.

Alpha Thanus was completely enraged. When he's in that state, all he sees is red. He destroyed everything in his path, so no one has the courage to stand up to him when he's on a rampage.

"Those cretins! They dared to cause trouble inside my territory! I will fucking teach them a lesson, 'cause no one breaks my rule and takes off unpunished!" the alpha snarled as he stood near the open window. His nose was flaring and he was breathing quickly.

However, no one could blame him.

He made it clear to all of his pack members from the beginning that they should leave mortals alone and never harm innocent civilians. They are completely harmless and are unaware that werewolves exist in Spring Valley. Despite his serious warning, a swarm of mongrels caused havoc the other night. They broke into a grocery store and stole merchandise from the previous owner.

Thanus ground his teeth and vowed to himself that once the pack warriors had them, he would tear those thieves apart and feed their flesh to the crows.

_______________

(Titania's POV)

Finally, I arrived in Spring Valley after five hours of riding my big bike.

I maneuvered my prized possession into a small parking space in front of a store, removed my helmet, and hopped off. I was thirsty, so I decided to get a bottle of water before heading to my destination.

For a brief moment, I examined myself through the glass window of the structure in front of me. I was dressed in black ripped pants, a white tank top under a brown leather jacket, and a pair of boots. I used black eyeshadow, mascara, and neutral lipstick on my lips. I put three earrings on my left ear and two on my right. I had one on my brows as well, and my hair was in a braid to add to the drama.

Hooking my helmet to the clutches of my big bike, which also held my backpack, a satisfied simper tugged at the corner of my lips. Then I walked into the store and noticed everyone froze and dropped their jaws. My brow furrowed and a sarcastic scoff left my mouth.

'What's up with them? Is this their first time seeing a punk?' I mentally sniggered and chose to ignore them. I went to the bottled water section and purchased one, as well as a pack of cookies. While checking what else I needed, I could feel the heated stares behind me, but I was too tired to pay them any attention.

If they have a problem with my appearance, I suggest they touch some grass.

"Look what we've got here, guys!" a male voice muttered loudly, and my ears perked up as I heard footsteps approaching.

Instinctively, I moved away from whoever it was and went to the counter to pay for the items I had taken. I arranged them all on the smooth surface and fished my money out of my pocket.

The cashier looked at me with amusement, but when three men neared us, she quickly composed herself and did her job with a fuss in her eyes.

"Well, what do we have here? A new face in Spring Valley!" dude number one said as he scanned my form up and down.

Again, I ignored them and paid for my items.

"She's a snob, bro!" dude number two taunted.

"Burn, bro!" dude number three agreed and cackled.

A long sigh escaped my lips. 'I don't have time to cause trouble. I only went there because it was mentioned in my grandfather's will.'

When my purchases were packed, I quickly sauntered out of the store. I went straight to my big bike and was about to get on when a hand grabbed my braided hair and yanked me back.

"Not so fast!" It was dude number one I encountered in the store. He grinned at me when I faced him.

"Take your hand back," I murmured, giving him a blank look.

The two guys next to him chuckled, and the rascal who was holding me smirked, which irritated me to the core.

"Or what if I don't, bitch?" he gripped my hair tighter, his nails digging into my scalp.

My eyes narrowed. "Are you going to pick a fight with me?" I rasped.

They appear to want trouble, so why not give them what they want?

"What if I am?" he asked, which was my cue.

My lips formed a smug smirk. "Well, suit yourself, dumbass!" I grabbed his hand clutching my hair and easily unhooked his paws from me.

The asshole's eyes widened as if he hadn't expected me to be so strong.

"I fucking hate bullies, you know!" I grunted, and before he could blink, I snagged his wrist and twisted it hard, causing him to kneel on the ground and yell.

"Damn you, slut!"

"You chose the wrong person, dude!" My smirk broadened into a wide grin as I took a step back, bent to the side, and gave the mongrel an upper hook. He was thrown into the air by the impact before falling back to the ground unconscious.

His comrades took a step back after witnessing the scene. I clenched my fists and faced them.

"Who's up next?"
