CHAPTER SIX

- THIRD POV-

(Dark Moon pack)

Thanus Morgan's inner wolf throwing a fit was something he was unable to handle. Consequently, Kaede paced back and forth to the back of his head causing his lips to press to a thin line.

"Let's go back to our mate!" his wolf muttered, a hint of anger in his grizzled voice

After the heated conversation with Titania, the alpha left her at the cabin and went to the packhouse to hear Neru's report.

Leaning back on his chair, Thanus sighed heavily. Even though he disliked having someone other than Kaede tell him what to do, he could still feel the irritation seeping into his veins. "Restrain yourself, mutt. I would never allow the Moon Goddess to manipulate us, even if that woman is our mate."

In anger, Kaede hissed back at him, but Thanus immediately raised the barrier on his mind and silenced him before he could initiate a fight.

He took another deep breath and composed himself before standing up and dealing with the members of his pack who were responsible for the robbery at the grocery store the other night.

With his head bowed and his eyes not looking at him, Neru entered the office. "Alpha," He sounded in an ungainly voice.

It riled Thanus even more that he could smell his fear. Despite being aware that his second in charge was troubled by his irritable demeanor, he was unable to alter his mood. With his eyes narrowed, an annoyed whiff rolled out his mouth. Since he didn't intend to stay in the packhouse for very long, he directly questioned, "Where are those bastards?"

At the cabin, he had someone to watch over, so he had to get moving. He wouldn't deny that he was also experiencing the pull of the mate, which he needed to learn to control.

When Neru coughed, he quickly led Thanus' attention back to him. The beta's face was marked with hesitation.

Thanus drew in his brows. His vexation was boiling as he yelled throughout the entire pack house, "You haven't caught those bastards!"

Neru replied, shaking his head, "N-no, Alpha. We...we already have them but-"

He snarled, "But what!" before reaching for the vase on the table and tossing it against the wall causing it to break into small pieces and fell on the floor. "For the love of God, speak, mutt!"

Rather than responding, Neru hastily dashed to the door and opened it with his trembling hand. Three guys were automatically pushed into the room by the Delta and one of the pack warriors.

Thanus' rage subsided as soon as his gaze landed on the culprits of the heist and realized their circumstances. "What happened to these savages?"

Punishment was no longer necessary. The fools had already been routed.

"We saw them outside the downtown mini-market, Alpha. They were badly beaten and on the verge of passing out," Neru answered after taking a deep breath.

He huffed while crossing his arms in front of his chest. "And who has the guts to take down these three morons?"

When he overheard one of those idiots say, 'T-that woman. I will never forget what she did to us,' he promptly grabbed him by the neck.

With his nostrils flaring, Thanus hissed at him, "Speak, tell me who this woman is that you are talking about.

The mongrel strained to respond as his entire figure turned pale. Fear was visible in his eyes. "She's new here, alpha. We don't know who she is, but she has piercings on her face and has braided hair! That bitch is fucking strange!"

Thanus snickered and let go of him. "Pathetic!" He turned to his beta and ruled, "I'll speak with these shits again the next day. Lock them up and don't give them food until I say so."

He then walked out of his office after reaching for his t-shirt that was on the chair.

Woman with piercings huh! Those bastards were beaten by a twenty-five percent wolf!

He initially chuckled, then eventually started laughing. He laughed so loudly that the other members of his pack could hear him. His thoughts wandered back to the woman who lived in the remote cabin.

"I'm coming home, sweetheart!"

(TITANIA'S POV)

My stomach began to churn as I left my room.

'Oh, dear! I'm famished.'

My vision was spinning while I took fast treks to the kitchen. I was beyond delighted that Thanus Morgan wasn't around to prevent me from going straight to the refrigerator. When I opened it and saw a cake, a wide grin appeared on my face.

Yes, that's my favorite. If there's cake on the table, I don't need to eat anything else. And certainly, that is a weakness of the monster.

My mouth watered as I was just about to shut the refrigerator door when I spotted something that caused my eyes to beam. "Tequilla!" I exclaimed like a wanderer finding an oasis in a desert. "Alright! Let's party!"

Thirty minutes had passed and I devoured the cake and drank the entire bottle of wine. Satisfied, I slouched down on the couch and put my legs up on the center table.

"Hah! This is life!" I chirped and smiled.

So living in that place isn't all that horrible, huh? I believe I could stay there for a year. However, the last will said that I would receive my fortune once I accomplished my task.

'As a woman whose life is in the city, it would surely be tough but heck! I am Titania Summer. I am not a whiney brat like my cousin Liz.'

One month is a piece of cake!

Suddenly, I remembered Thomas Wyatt. He only allowed me three months to repay the cash my ex-boyfriend lent him. 'Perhaps, I should give him a call one of these days and request a bit more time.'

And if I had finally paid off all of my obligations to that fatass and had my grandfather's money, I wouldn't have to fight in the underground. I could go on a vacation and have the life I wanted.

Shutting my eyes, I smirked and mumbled, "Thank you, grandpa."
