She couldn't take the elevator alone as she has a mild claustrophobia.

Nicklaus always took the elevator with her so she always felt comforted but now she was all alone and didn't wanna be in a narrow space because spaces like that would make her uncomfortable with the feeling of being in confined spaces.

The floors of the mansion were divided according to their ranks.

The eighth floor was dedicated to the Beta and his family while the seventh floor for the Gamma and his family but since Elias and Raphael haven't found their mate, the two floors below were empty so practically there was no one.

Annah managed to go down to the fourth floor without attracting much attention.
