FAZER LOGINSerena's POV “Won't that be weird?” I replied, helping myself to the bacon and sandwiches. “You're Elliot's uncle after all.”“I'm younger than he is.” Jenson said, making me look up from my plate. “Not so young though, but since you call Elliot by his name, I don't see why you can't do the same for me.”“I guess you're right.” I agreed and continued eating. “You were lucky I happened to be passing by when I spotted Elliot's car.” He spoke a while later.I wiped my mouth with the napkin.“I didn't want to intrude at first, thinking you'd both come for something so I drove away.” He continued. “But I had a feeling that something was off and when I returned, the car wasn't there anymore.”“Did you call Elliot?” I asked.“No.” He said flatly, and then changed his tone. “I needed to be sure before raising an alarm.” I nodded, wondering if Elliot worried about me.“I asked a few people around there but no one saw anything. Long story short, I found a suspicious building with a single li
Elliot had not slept the whole night. Since he had put his faith in the police finding her, Austin expected him to return to the mansion and wait for an update but Elliot remained in his car until the next morning. The police were yet to make any leads, but they were doing a good job in stopping the reporters from approaching Elliot. The area was barricaded and only Austin was allowed near Elliot. By now, the entire city has caught wind of Serena's abduction.“I just spoke with the commissioner, sir.” Austin said. “They think this isn't a direct abduction case since you haven't received any ransom call or demands.”“They might be right,” Elliot responded and stepped out of the car. “It's been twelve hours since she went missing.”He looked at Austin. “If by noon there's no call yet, order the commissioner to search the entire city. I'll foot whatever it costs.”Austin nodded, although an emotion different from understanding was written on his face.“What?” Elliot asked.“You should g
“Huh?” Adrian made a sorry face, “What do you think he'll do to you? All your charades to the public will be revealed.”“It’s no charade.” Serena said. “I love him.” Adrian was taken aback. His countenance immediately changed.“You're a fool if you think Elliot actually loves you.” He said. “I heard he needs an heir to claim his wealth. He's using you and you're letting him do it.”“I'd choose him ten times over you, Adrian. Now stop this shit and let me go!”“Really?” He chuckled and stood. “Doctor, are you ready?”“Just a moment.” The doctor said, flipping what looked like a syringe to Serena.Adrian's phone buzzed in his pocket. He answered.“Adrian!” Came Helen's angry voice. Serena could recognize it anywhere, anytime.“Where the hell are you? Camille is in labor. She needs you.”“I'll be there, mom-”“You've been saying that for the past five hours. Mr and Mrs Holt are not having it. If you don't get down here right now, you'll have only yourself to blame.”She ended the call.
Austin arrived at Elliot's mansion after two hours of having to complete signing of documents, replying to emails, and completing all other office duties on Elliot's behalf.Tired, he slumped on the couch in the dark living room and kicked off his shoes.“How long do I have to do this?” He asked no one in particular.Suddenly, the lights in the room came on, illuminating the dark sitting room, followed by slow music.Austin sat up and looked around him, the entire sitting room had been cleared of all furniture. It was now replaced with a sleek, well-designed table and chairs. The table had varieties of food, two wine glasses, and a champagne bottle. There were candles lit at the four corners of the room and two men, dressed in white and red, with saxophones in their hands stood at the far corner of the room. The screen of the 24 inch TV lit up, “To my darling fiancée.”Austin was dumbfounded.Elliot came out from the shadows. His suit was impeccable, and like always he did not fail
It was Camille's day of delivery, however, there were no signs of her being in labor yet at three in the afternoon. She remained anxious yet angry because none of the men in her life were by her side. And Helen's presence did nothing to soften her anger.“It must be work keeping Adrian, dear. You know how much he cherishes you.” She said for the third time that day but Camille did not respond.More than Adrian's absence, Finn's hurt her even more. She knew he couldn't be here, but still, a text or call would have helped.Instead, she gets to watch him and his fiance being videoed and adored by fans. Despite his act of convincing her that what he had with the woman was simply a ruse, Camille struggled to believe it.Finn had once loved Camille that it projected in his every action towards her, so she certainly knows the kind of desire blazing in his eyes whenever he stared at Karen.Yet, despite this, Camille still convinced herself that it was all an act just so he could get his inher
Karen gasped. “No.”Seeing that her face had turned pale, he released his grip and sat back, straightening his shirt.“Don't provoke me again, Karen.” He warned with a less angry voice. “You know it doesn't turn out well when I lose it.”He started the car and drove in silence until they arrived at the house. Finn glanced at her, and suddenly felt sorry about what he'd done.He asked, “Are you okay? Did I hurt you badly?”Karen did not respond.Finn sighed. “If you want the IVF, I'll try my best to ensure you get it. But if it doesn't work once, we're not trying it again.”Karen gave a curt nod.“Go on, I'll have to see the doctor.” Karen opened the car door and stepped out. Without a glance at him, she walked straight for the door. Finn knew he didn't mean what he said. IVF costs a lot and he was not about to spend the hard-earned money from Adrian Whitmore on a stupid IVF.He was functional and agile, why would she underrate his performance? He pushed it to the back of his mind, a
