I didn’t like the eagerness with which Alex followed the men. They were all drop-dead gorgeous, but still, they were strangers. But what could I do? Since Alex agreed, I had to tag along.
I had a feeling that Alex was changing gradually, not necessarily in the wrong way, but he was behaving differently.
I sucked in my breath when I saw the palace. Made in beautiful Redstone, it stretched in both directions far beyond what I could see.

Instead, I felt like I had landed on a warm, soft cloud. I looked down to see that I was mere inches from the ground. I was lying on what seemed like a cloud of golden light. I got up and landed on the floor. My jaws hit the ground when I saw that cloud of light transform into Alex right before my eyes.
