I sat at the edge of the river, looking up at night sky, filled with the clouds and the twinkling stars. The stars were shining brightly and penetrating the clouds like tiny rays of hope. I had never seen a sky like this before.

I was enjoying a moment of peace and quiet when I heard a soft cry for help. I glanced around but nothing unusual caught my eye. I thought I imagined it.

There was silence for a while and then I heard it again and this time more clearly, a desperate cry for help. I got up and looked at the darkness around me. The sound seemed to come from a distance.

"Hello? Is someone there?" I asked as my heart pounded in my chest.

The cry came again but it was weak this time. I wanted to go and see if there was anyone who needed help but stopped as there were also many unknown dangers present in the dark of the night.

And I was alone here. I didn’t even know what place this is.

But what if someone genuinely needed my help?
