KATHY

"Get in the car, Zayka."

There was no threat in his voice but I could tell he was visibly angry.

I glanced at Daniel one last time before turning toward the waiting SUV.

The ride back to the mansion was painfully quiet.

I stared out the window the entire time, refusing to look at Viktor. He didn't say a word either.

I kept thinking about where he'd been the whole week and how he even found me outside the cafe.

It's just a coincidence.

Right?

The moment the car stopped, I climbed out and headed straight for my room.

I had barely stepped inside when the door slammed shut behind me.

I jumped and spun around.

Viktor stood there, his chest rising and falling as if he were trying to control his breathing.

"What are you doing in my room?" I asked, frowning.

His jaw tightened.

"This is my goddamn house."

I stared at him for a second before a laugh escaped my lips.

Was he jealous?

The mighty Viktor Svyatoslav was actually fucking jealous.

"My personal life is none of your business," I said, crossing my arms.

His eyes narrowed.

"Everything about you is my business."

I raised an eyebrow.

""Funny," I muttered. "You seem more interested in the blonde maid's business"

The irritation on his face disappeared, replaced by confusion.

"What?"

"And don't pretend you don't know what I'm talking about."

I took a step closer.

"Or should we talk about Natalia instead?"

His brows pulled together.

"Natalia?"

"I saw you kissing her."

For a moment, he simply stared at me.

Then, to my annoyance, the corner of his mouth lifted.

"So..." He slowly walked toward me. "You were spying on me?"

"I wasn't spying."

"No?"

"I just happened to see it."

His smile grew.

"So you were watching me."

"I wasn't."

"You were jealous."

"I was not."

"You were."

"I wasn't."

He chuckled, and I wanted nothing more than to wipe that smug look off his face.

"Stop smiling."

"She kissed me." He said, his expression softening.

I blinked.

"I pushed her away immediately."

He held my gaze.

"I want nothing to do with Natalia."

I didn't know what to say.

"So what about Maria?" I asked after a moment.

"The blonde maid."

He looked genuinely confused.

"Maria brings coffee to my room or my study."

"That's it?"

"That's it."

Heat crept into my cheeks.

Great.

I'd spent days convincing myself he was secretly sleeping with his maid.

"You thought I was having an affair."

"I didn't say that."

"You just accused me of one."

"I..." I sighed. "You don't have to explain anything to me."

"No?"

I shook my head.

"I don't care what you do."

His eyes searched mine.

"You don't?"

"No."

"You seem to care."

"I don't."

He kept walking until my back hit the wall.

I didn't even realize I was stepping backward.

There was nowhere else to go.

He stopped only inches away.

"So none of that bothered you?"

"No."

"Not even a little?"

I forced myself to meet his eyes.

"No."

He stared at me for what felt like forever before letting out a quiet laugh.

"You're a terrible liar."

My heart skipped.

"I don't know what you're talking about."

He reached up and tucked a strand of hair behind my ear.

That simple touch sent warmth rushing through my entire body.

This man was driving me fucking insane. My body was no longer listening to me.

I swallowed hard and for a second, neither of us moved.

His eyes dropped to my lips and mine did the same.

Every ounce of anger between us melted into something neither of us wanted to admit.

Before I could think, before I could argue, before I could stop him...

He closed the distance and smashed his lips against mine.

I gasped against his mouth, caught completely off guard.

For a moment, I forgot how to breathe.

Then I let myself have the tiny moment.

I wasn't jeopardising the mission and I wasn't falling for him.

Even if I did fall for him, my work and what I believed in always came first.

So i kissed him back.

Weeks of frustration, jealousy, and stolen glances crashed into that single kiss.

His hand slipped around my waist, pulling me closer, and I found myself clutching the front of his shirt as if if I didn't, he'd let me go.

In that moment , I couldn't think of anything else.

Not Daniel.

Not the mansion.

Not the guards.

Just Viktor.

His lips that sucked into mine like they were the sweetest thing he'd ever tasted.

I kept telling myself I didn't want him for the past 3 weeks. That I wouldn't willingly sleep with him.

But this kiss was making me think otherwise.

His hand on my waist tightened and I held him tighter.

I moaned involuntarily.

I wanted to stop and move away from him. Stop kissing him but I couldn't. My hands roamed around his back and chest.

There was hard muscle everywhere. It was already hard enough to focus when he was in the room and now I knew what his body felt like. What his body did to mine. His scent.

God.

My pussy was already so wet and I wanted him to touch me. But he didn't. Almost like he was waiting for permission to do so.

I started moving my hand towards his groin area but he stopped me, breaking out of the kiss.

I stared at him breathless. Wondering why he'd stop.

"You don't care, huh" He smirked. And I could feel my face slowly turn red.

I turned my head to the side, embarrassed from what I had just done.

Kissing him, touching him and moaning when all he did was hold my waist.

This man was trouble for me. But if I just fuck him one more time... sober and in my right mind, I was sure I wouldn't crave him anymore.

This was purely physical, I'd been sexually frustrated for a while and I just needed one good fuck.

Before I could say another word, his phone rang.

He brought it out of his pocket and one look at the caller, his expression changed.

"I have to go" he said, turning around and walking out the room without another word.

Fuck.

KATHY 3 days later we were back in the US. I was very glad to be back. Being attacked wasn't part of the vacation specifications and I didn't like that very much even though I had caught the rat. Viktor had killed him without even thinking twice. Would he do the same to me when he finds out who I really am? I had better start making escape plans just in case. The drive back to the mansion somehow felt heavenly. Three cars, Viktor and Romanov in one, Natalia and Anya in the other and I in the last car. It was peaceful. I looked at my arm which had healed enough that I no longer needed a bandage, though the scar was still there. I would have to wear long sleeve shirts to visit Nana. It would be hard to explained that my life was at risk at my employer's home. The car I was in finally came to a stop last. Anya and Natalia had already gone inside while I walked behind Viktor who was many steps away from me. The moment I stepped on the foyer, I saw Zuri. "Kathy" he gre

KATHY"Call the doctor."Viktor's voice was calm, but everyone moved immediately.Romanov gave a short nod before disappearing down the hallway.I looked down at my arm. The adrenaline had worn off, and the burning pain was becoming harder to ignore. Blood had soaked through my sleeve, staining my shirt.About 15 minutes later, the doctor arrived. He cleaned the wound, stitched the cut, and wrapped my forearm in a neat white bandage."It isn't deep," he said. "You'll be sore for a few days, but you'll be fine. I'll give you some painkillers"As soon as he finished, Viktor looked at me."Go get your things."I frowned."My things?""We're leaving."I stood up to leave but Anya wouldn't let go. So we both went into my room together and I packed my bags. I didn't leave anything behind. We also went to Anya's room and picked some of her clothes and stuffed toys inside her school bag and we both went downstairs.Viktor took one look at my bag and back at my face.I shrugged. • Falling For The Mafia   27: Under Attack

KATHYI knew something was wrong the moment Viktor said we were leaving the country. "A vacation" was what he called it. Although the few days I had been here had been beautiful so far, something just didn't feel right. I could feel it. I wish I could just know what was happening. But my best guess was that the Mafia was under attach. The security around Viktor had doubled since we'd arrived. Romanov was constantly on the phone. Guards rotated shifts more frequently than before, and Viktor himself rarely relaxed, no matter how calm he appeared.Which made it all the more reason to believe that they were having some kind of fight. Would running away for a week really protect us? That afternoon, I wandered through one of the quiet hallways, hoping to clear my head, because something just kept nagging at me.I heard voices through a half-open door."...I've told you before."It was Viktor's voice.I stopped involuntarily.I wasn't trying to eavesdrop or anything.I had every intent

  • Falling For The Mafia   26: Dangerous Asset

VIKTOR I hadn't stopped thinking about yesterday. It was becoming a problem. Every time I closed my eyes, I saw Katherine diving into the pool without a hint of hesitation. The moment she came back out of the water in her swim suit, I knew all hope were lost for me. I wanted her. Beautiful. Dangerously beautiful. I let out a quiet sigh and rubbed a hand over my face. I had meetings to think about. A war brewing back in New York. Shipments that needed rerouting. Enemies who wanted my head. Instead... I was thinking about Katherine. Pathetic. I left my room and walked down the hallway toward hers. Just as I was about to knock, I heard laughter. Not just laughter. Her laughter. "...Gabby, stop!" she giggled through the phone. "No, I'm serious!" She laughed again. "I am not blushing!" A smile threatened to form on my lips. It disappeared the moment I realized I was smiling because of a woman talking on the phone. Ridiculous. I knocked o
