CHAPTER 5

“ETHAN! Princess! ” Katherine shouted. The basketball game was about to start, so she had a peek at the people entering. She was really happy to see the two with Arvin. At least the first bonding she wanted to happen between Ethan and Princess was a success.

"Hi, Mom," Ethan greeted after kissing her on the cheek. "I also took Arvin."

“It’s okay! The more, the merrier!” Katherine replied happily.

"Hi, Tita," Princess greeted with a smile. He take her and brought it to his forehead, a symbol of respect, then kissed her on the cheek.

“I’m so happy that you are here today. I thought you wouldn't make it. ”

“Where’s Dad, Mom?” Ethan asked. He looked around. "Are you alone?"

“I was with him earlier but had a sudden appointment so I just let him go. After all, you are coming. Let's sit down! The game is about to start! ” Katherine said excitedly. “Arvin, come on! Let's go! ”

Princess suddenly felt awkward but she didn’t let it shows. She had to pretend she was comfortable in Ethan's presence. Good thing she knows how to handle men as part of her work.

“Ethan, you're there at the end. Princess is here. ” Katherine pointed to the seat next to her. "Maybe someone will know her so we have to be careful."

Ethan nodded.

At least her uncomfortable feeling was reduced knowing Katherine is sitting next to her. This is the first time Princess watches a basketball game with so many people watching because she often spends her time on the runway.

Her soon-to-be mother-in-law was very happy when the game started. Aunt Katherine shouted, and at the same time, the other spectators screamed widely. Princess finally understand why when she saw Kaiden among the players called for the first five.

'So that's why!'

“Do you know, Princess? Ethan was also a basketball player then. I also often watch his games with his siblings and his Dad, but now that he’s working, Kaiden took his place in the game, ” Katherine told her. She suddenly whispered in her ear. “I feel like Ethan misses playing. It’s just that, he’s busy with work.”

Princess just smiled and glanced at Ethan who was very focused on watching. His eyes twinkled strangely, obviously with a strange joy hidden behind them. She sees its desire to play again but due to a lot of work in his job he is no longer able to do that.

She let out a deep sigh. Could it happen the same thing to her? What if she quit modeling? Will, she going to miss that too?

"Are you okay?" Ethan suddenly asked her to her surprise.

"H-huh?" Princess didn't think he would take the initiative to talk to her.

“I noticed that you seemed to be thinking deeply. Aren't you used to this? I mean, watch basketball? ”

“Ah… actually, it's my first time watching today. I-I just remembered something a while ago t-that's why you noticed that I was thinking deeply. ”

Ethan's attention is still on the players as they talk. How did he notice that she was deep in thought?

“If you're not comfortable, just tell me. I'll be the one to tell my Mom. ”

“Huh? N-no! I'm fine."

Only then did he glance in her direction. “Don’t pretend that everything is fine. There is nothing wrong with telling the truth. ”

Suddenly, her blood boils. It was the first day they were together he was trying to push her limit right away. Princess closed her eyes firmly. She doesn’t have to be upset or angry because he might enjoy her reaction. She is not like that.

"You don't have to worry, I'm fine."

"Really -"

What Ethan was about to say was cut short when suddenly a bright light flash on the two of them. Only then did they notice that almost everyone was looking at them. She looked at Ethan in astonishment and his response was a pleasant smile.

'What's happening?'

"Princess, look at the monitor," Aunt Katherine pointed out to her.

Princess's eyes widened when she saw herself there with Ethan. It’s a kiss cam!

"Auntie -"

His aunt smiled at her.

“The mascot is coming. If to of you won't kiss yet, the mascot will take you away from Ethan, ”Arvin said with a bit of teasing. This was followed by loud shouts from the people.

“Kiss! Kiss! Kiss! ” Even the basketball players are watching them as well.

Princess swallowed one after another. She was even more nervous when she saw Ethan still smiling at her. There is nothing she can do right now but give in to their demand.

She smiled slowly as she looked at Ethan. That was the signal for him to gradually come closer to her. He even touched her face with both of his hands. Time seemed to be slow-motion and she could see herself with him that ready to kiss her.

She was thankful she was wearing glasses because she felt like she would cry in no time. How could she experience her first kiss that way? Even though they are set to get married, they still don’t know each other!

She has swallowed again. It's hard to breathe when the face of the man she is soon to be married to is in front of her. It was as if she just wanted to die even more when she smelled his fragrant breath. What is happening to her?

"Just go with the flow," Ethan said softly to her before finally pressing his lips to hers.

That's where the world probably stopped. She even felt him press his lips hard against hers which made her heart beat faster. Something’s wrong with her!

She tried to smile nicely after Ethan left her lips. He even persuaded her to bring their bodies closer together while looking at the monitor.

“Wow! It's thrilling! ” said the announcer loudly. “They are perfect for each other! Truly destined! Because the one caught by our kiss cam is just about to get married! Can I have one more kiss? ”

The people shouted again. Princess feels like she have won the presidency when the crowd supported what the announcer wanted.

When Ethan looked at her again, her heart almost came out of her chest because of the force of the beating.

“Congratulations soon to be Mr. and Mrs. Rodriguez! ” the announcer said, then Ethan capture her lips again.
