After two hours of heavy downpour, the downpour seemed to ease up a bit. Esme and Taylor were chatting excitedly while Ruby scrolled through her phone.

It took so much control in her not to dump her drink on Taylor’s pretty face. She had felt so much anger and hatred in her life but nothing like the one she felt right now. It upset her even more than Esme and Taylor acted like everything was alright, they expected her to forget about everything like it didn’t happen. Her high school experience had redefined her whole life. For a couple of years after high school, up to when she went to college, she had trouble speaking in public and speaking to people generally. She always kept her head low because she had been told before that she wasn’t worthy of anything. She was called ugly duckling by most of the students and she had believed they had forgotten her real name.

Taylor’s behavior towards her had scarred her for life. She always felt insecure and not pretty enough.
