The Name Exchange

Janice POV:

“I insist, please let me give you a ride!” He desperately exclaims. His face was suddenly draped with a very worried expression.

A ride wouldn’t hurt I guess… looking around for a nearby vehicle.

He must have noticed my eyes searching, when he stated “I’ll have my car brought to us” and he took out his phone and rang someone.

We waited by a street light when a black suv pulled up in front of us, I suddenly got scared like I had made a bad choice and was in the hands of danger.

When he reached down and took my hand leading me to the suv.

“This is Ronald, my driver” the man states as the driver got out of the suv and opened the back door for us. I suddenly felt reassured and safe.

“And your name?” I asked him as we slid into the back seat together. I noticed his eyes slid over my legs and up my skirt till they met mine.

“Uh, my name is Jameson” he clears his throat. When he asks for mine.

“My name is Janice” I blushed and couldn’t help but notice the corner of his lips turn up in a shy smile.

JAMESON POV:

Janice tells me her name and I can’t help the smile tug onto the corner of my lips. A beautiful name for a stunning women. I bite my tongue trying to stop my smile from showing.

“So, where to Janice?” Ronald asked, snapping us both back to reality.

“Could you take me to the Claire-field hotel?” Janice directed.

I turn to look at her curiously. “You live at the Claire-field hotel?” I ask her.

“I’m afraid to admit I’m new to the city, simply haven’t found the perfect home to call mine yet…” her gaze lingered on me.

“Totally understandable Mrs Janice” Ronald calls from the front seat.

“Oh just Janice please” She states while she smiled at Ronald.

Ronald starts the engine up and we begin the short drive to where she was staying.

“What made you want to move to Los Grove?” I asked her, finding myself wanting to know more and more about her.

“I needed a fresh start, so far it has been a great change for me” she declares smiling at me.

I noticed her look down at my hand and realized I had unintentionally moved it closer to her leg. I slide it onto my lap, hoping I didn’t make her feel uncomfortable.

JANICE POV:

The drive was short, and I felt a sting in my chest when I realized we had arrived at the hotel already. I tried to undo my seatbelt but it seemed to be locked in it’s holder.

I felt Jameson reach over and gently click in the button and the seat belt was loose.

“Thanks” I giggled out.

I hop out of the suv that was too high off the ground for me. Before I know it Jameson is beside me closing my door for me.

“Well, thank you very much for the ride” I state to him.

He reaches for my hand and I felt tiny shocks run over me, he kisses it softly, and I melt inside.

“Welcome to Los Grove Janice.” Jameson smirked.

I smile shyly and walk off towards the hotel door. Turning back I see him standing there making sure I got inside safely.

-The next morning-

JAMESON POV:

Reaching over to my alarm clock blaring in my ear I groan and try to punch it off the side table till it finally stops.

I glance over at it, I read 7:30AM. I hear a harsh sound as the blinds covering the sun filled windows are rapidly torn open by Jason. He was standing in the buff in my room.

“Get up, we’re gunna be late” he shouts at me frantically.

“Ugh, just give me a minute” I sighed.

Hopping into my shower I can’t help but turn my thoughts towards the girl from last night, Janice. I was hopeful I’d see her again at the bar. I was intrigued, very intrigued by her.

I quickly finish washing my hair and towel dry off. Ripping a suit on, I raced to the elevator, only to find Jason waiting in it impatiently.

“I know, I know” I panted.

Jason slammed his finger on the main lobby button and curses under his breath.

“Fuck these things are slow. Why did you have to have the top floor as where we live”.

“I’m sorry, would you rather live in a regular room? I’m sure I can make arrangements.” I snorted at Jason, and he looked at me with a glare.

By the time we reached the main lobby it was 10 minutes till 8.

Rushing to the valet parking entrance Ronald was thankfully already waiting for us.

“Running a little late are we today sir?” Ronald smirked.

“Yeah, yeah, let’s go guys!” I sighed, feeling a little guilty for sleeping in.

Ronald sped off, and looking back at my Claire-Field Hotel I couldn’t help thinking of her.

We arrived at the docks a few minutes late, but the shippers we would be collecting the delivery from today were new anyways. They wouldn’t dare have a say in our late arrival. However, I did prefer to keep my status superior. And this would put a damper on my mood for the day. Getting out of the suv I was greeted by a man named Tomas.

“Good Morning sir, my name is Tomas and I am here on behalf of the Island Cartel.” He spoke.

“Ah, yes as expected. And I assume you brought the goods?” I squint at him.

“Of course sir, only the best!” Tomas expelled excitedly.

Tomas led me towards a large white yacht parked in my underground dock.

“You brought 100lbs of morphine on that?!” I was shocked.

“You’re lucky you didn’t get searched.” Jason adds.

Tomas was taken aback and quickly apologized.

“It won’t happen again, I can assure you of that. Boss didn’t think a cargo ship was necessary for the shipment.”

“I’ll be sure to have a word with him later.” I murmured, disappointed.

“Bring it out here will ya.” Jason tells Tomas, clearly annoyed at the situation.

Tomas heads onto the yacht and returns shortly after with 5 large barrels on a wagon.

A few of my men quickly dismount the barrels and carry them to the scale.

One of them yells over to us, “Yo Boss your not gunna like this…”

“Calvin is fucking with you, this is only 50lbs!”

I glare at Tomas, who starts waving his hands in surrender. “Did you know about this?” I demanded.

“No sir, of course not, I just handle deliveries…” Tomas explains.

“Get out of my face before I blow your brains out” I cursed at Tomas.

He runs off like a coward towards the yacht. Storming away I hop in the suv. Whipping out my phone I call Calvin, leader of the Island Cartel.

“You think this is a joke do you?” I spit out.

“Lovely to hear your voice too Jameson!” Calvin speaks. “ I assume your upset over your morphine shortage. Fair not I swear the other half will be there in a few weeks. We had a bit of a hiccup over here.”

“Three weeks?! Our first business deal and you come up short. I better have my bills back with interest at 10pm tonight or your fried Calvin.” I shout before hanging up the line.

“What are we going to do now Boss?” Jason who had climbed in the suv asked me.

“Now we wait, if the moneys not back by 10pm they’re all dead. Get a crew ready for a raid.”

Jason nods and makes a few calls. I tip my head back on the seat before telling Ronald to head to our warehouse. When we arrived at the dingy building I headed for the front door. Stepping inside I couldn’t help but smile, looking around at the incredibly well kept warehouse. We never refinished the outside to keep the feds off our tails.

I walk to my office only to find someone is already sitting in my chair.

“Ahhem” I cleared my throat.

The chair swivelled around and I found myself looking at my father, Nathan.

“What can I do you for father?” I ask him questionably.

“What? Can a father not visit his son at work?” He smirked. He raced over to embrace me in a hug, I sighed hugging him back.

“Okay dad that’s enough.” I step back. “Why are you really hear?” I asked.

“I’m afraid I got a whiff of some bad news, apparently our man at the CIA got the can a few weeks ago. We have no eyes or ears on the inside anymore son.” He looks down.

“So what’s the big deal? They weren’t even slightly on our tails, we hardly needed the spy.” I shrug.

“Well it’s tricky, without the knowledge, they could be on to us at any moment. We need to keep on our top game, cover our tracks, until we can get a new spy on the inside.” Nathan sighs.

“We’ll be fine, I’ll get it sorted.” I said.

-Later that evening-

Before I knew it the time had flown by. It was 10:22pm when I checked the clock. Muttering to myself I dialled Jason. “Any sign of the money?” I asked.

“Afraid not Jameson. I don’t think they’re gunna show after all.” Jason explains.

“Send the raid at 11pm sharp.” I hang up.

“Bloody bastard.” I cursed. Shoving my fists on top of the desk.

Suddenly my office door swung open and Maria, Jason’s little sister pokes her head in. I groan and tell her to leave.

“Not now Maria, can’t you see I’m busy here.” I growl. But she walks in, slamming the door behind her. She leans over my desk forcing my eyes to her spilling cleavage.

“I was just looking to have a little fun…” she pouts. Spinning her hair around her finger tips and smiling at me.

“It’s not gunna happen Maria, that was a one night stand. And frankly I’ve had better.” I shout angrily at her.

But she doesn’t give up, and climbs on top of the desk, shoving her tits in my face. I cringe and shove her off of me. “Get the fuck out now!!” I screamed.

Tears filled her eyes as she ran towards the door.

“That girl is going to give me a stroke.” I shake my head. I stand, walking over to the cupboards lined on the back wall of my office. Opening them I find my hidden stash of guns and armour. I sigh, and suit up for the raid. Before leaving I pour a glass of scotch and chug it back.
