The Raid

JAMESON POV:

I met my crew at the docks. Jason was also waiting to start the raid. I cleared my throat to grab everyone’s attention. “Alright men, the goal is to find the money, and I want Calvin for myself. Leave no man standing, got it?” I explained to them.

Everyone shook their heads and nodded in agreement.

We boarded our black raid yacht. I still couldn’t believe that I thought doing business with the Island Cartel was a good idea. They think they could screw me on the first transaction. Ha, fools. Calvin would shed blood tonight.

Our yacht was approaching their docks when we were suddenly blinded by a massive white light. Sirens started blaring, my men started panicking when we realized it was the feds.

“ABORT ABORT!!” Jason calls out frantically.

Our yacht takes off at its top speed, the police boats following on our tails.

“What the fuck, how is that possible?!” Jason curses to me.

“I don’t fucking know, damnit” I mutter. My mind was racing with thoughts, until I remembered mine and my fathers earlier conversation. “Holy shit” I think to myself, “our spy gave us up”…

“We need to dip Jameson!” Jason yelled at me.

I stood blankly, and he shoved me towards the hovercraft at the side of our yacht.

“The men will take the fall, they cannot catch you boss” Jason explains to me desperately.

“Let’s fucking go!” I scrambled into the craft. Jason hoping into the drivers seat. The crew lowering us into the water and we take off in the shadows of the night sky towards safety. The feds just nearly catching sight of us in our escape.

We sped back to the docks and quickly fled to our suv that Ronald already had waiting.

“What’s the hurry boys??” Yells Ronald who was leaning on the hood of the vehicle. We don’t bother replying as we race to get inside it. Ronald hops in the drivers seat and quickly takes off towards the hotel.

-one day earlier-

JANICE POV:

Waking up to my morning work alarm I groaned from the spinning room and my aching forehead. Stupid hangover, I thought to myself. I get up and get ready, making myself a quick breakfast of eggs and toast. Sipping on my morning latte when my phone started to buzz. A new text came in from Tina head of the CIA.

“Your needed at work right away, you’ll never believe what anonymous tip came in!”

I paused, taking in the message before replying

“On my way!”

Tina has never messaged me yet… must be important, I thought to myself. Although I have only been here for a few weeks, I already felt like a special part of the team at the CIA in Los Grove.

They had hired me on right away due to my previous experience at the CIA in Italy. I was shocked to get the job offer, and was forced to abruptly move country’s. Not that I’m complaining, I desperately needed a change of scenery. I was bloody happy to be away from my family, that’s for sure.

I threw on my jacket and headed to the hotel lobby. Still vaguely pondering on last nights events. I was still trying to figure out how Jameson got those pigs to leave so quickly. But I tried to dismiss any criminally linked ideas from my head, he was far to handsome to be a criminal. Oh and rich, definitely a ceo or something, judging by his suv. I strolled by the front desk only to stop in my tracks as I seen Jameson climbing into that same suv out in the valet section. What the hell was he doing at the hotel I was staying at? I wondered curiously.

Not paying attention to my surroundings I clumsily ran into the front door man, who immediately apologized to me and opened the door for me.

“No no, sorry that’s my fault sir, I do apologize!” I said feeling my cheeks burn as embarrassment flooded over me. I need to get him out of my head, ugh.

I decided to walk to work, as usual. Why waste money on a cab in the city when everything is so close! Stopping for another quick latte at a cart on the street, I made my way to the CIA building.

“Good morning special agent Saunders” came the voice of the receptionist when I entered.

“Good morning!” I beamed back at her with a smile.

Heading to the elevator I hit the button for the top floor. When the closing door was stopped by Tina herself. Tina was head of my department, she was great at her job that was for sure.

“Ah perfect!” Tina glowed happily at me. “This will be top secret, but I’m guessing the information came from that Cartel spy that they had planted here. Boy am I ever glad we caught onto that guy.”

“Okay spill.” I said as we exited onto the headquarters floor.

“The tip was for the fucking Los Grove Cartel’s next potential raid!!!! We’re going to catch those bastards for good.” She squealed excitedly.

“Oh wow, we barely have anything on them. That could be a huge break in helping to bring them down.” I gasped.

“I know!!! So get ready for a long day of planning, we’ll only know if the raid is happening by 10pm tonight! But we need to be prepared at all costs.”

-later that evening-

After several long hours of planning for the raid, I finally heard the go ahead at 10pm. “Holy shit” I murmured to myself. We might actually catch them. Wendy my partner in the cia was standing next to me and smiled sillily.

“This is so sweet! Our first big bust together!” Wendy winked.

“If everything goes according to plan, we should catch some big fish tonight… no time to waste now, let’s move people!” I heard Tina say.

We all headed to the helicopters on the roof. We’d have to catch them by boat, we couldn’t risk the coppers alerting them.

When we arrived at the cia docks we launched multiple speed boats. We stormed as fast as we could to the Island Cartels home land, and awaited hiding in the dark depths of the night. Everything was totally silent but soon we could hear the sound of a boat approaching. When their massive black yacht finally came into view we flashed our blinding lights at them, turned on our sirens and the chase was on!

My heart was pumping so fast as all our boats flew across the top of the ocean. Trying to gain on the yacht, I knew we were making good ground. We would catch them!

Suddenly our boats came to a dramatic halt as the yacht stopped abruptly in front of us. Clearly surrendering, I knew something was off. It was quite, when a split second later the gun fire started slamming us. I dove into the ocean trying to save myself. We were not expecting retaliation… but we should have been. This was the largest Cartel ever, well at least in North America that was…

I rose to the surface and cried out when I felt a bullet graze the side of my arm. “Fuck!” I screamed, just as somebody grabbed me and pulled me on board one of our boats. I heard choppers flying overhead and the yacht took off out of sight. But the damage was already done, we had failed our mission and now they would know we were coming for them.

JAMESON POV:

“The fucking cia happened!” I shouted at Ronald.

“Don’t worry boss, the men will get away!” Ronald says reassuringly.

“Just take us to the hotel, we need to keep a low profile tonight.” I sighed.

“But first, McDonald’s boss?? Please, I’m fucking starving here..” cries Jason.

“Fine but make it fast!”

We stopped for fast food, and when we finally pulled up to the hotel I couldn’t believe my eyes as I saw Janice clearly in pain making her way inside the Claire-field hotel. She looked just as stunning as the last time I say here. Only now she seemed to be dressed differently, in entirely black clothes. She was holding her arm when I got out of the suv and hurried over to her.

“Hey! Janice, you alright?” I asked her. Before touching her arm gently and trying to see what was wrong.

“Oh yeah, just a minor cut, no worries here!” She looked into my eyes and I felt my heart beat faster. It’s like she had some sort of control over me, and suddenly all I wanted to do was kiss her.

“So I better get this bandaged up!” And she started walking away from me.

“Wait, let me help you, please!” I called after her.

“I’m sorry, excuse my rudeness, but why exactly do you keep turning up at the hotel I happen to be staying at?! I saw you leaving this morning as well.” She asked me puzzled.

Oh man, she probably thinks I’m stalking her. I let out a chuckle. “Well you see, I kind of own this hotel..” I paused, waiting to see her next expression.

Janice starred blankly at me, before laughing her ass off.

“And here I was thinking you were a creep!” She giggled and smiled at me.

I bit my lip hard trying to ignore my conscious wanting to grab her chin.

“Sure let’s go get me cleaned up!” She says cheerfully.

I take her arm and lead her to the elevator. Turning around I see Jason standing in the lobby with his arms crossed shaking his head at me. I smile awkwardly at him, before he sits down in the lobby, clearly understanding the assignment.

JANICE POV:

The raid failed, and we were headed back to the cia docks to see the damage. We had a quick head count, luckily no lives were lost tonight. They must not have been shooting to kill us, or else there’s no way they would’ve missed all those targets. I thought to myself.

Wendy tried to get my arm checked out but I declined, just wanting to get back home and have a nice shower and maybe a drink or two. That would dumb the pain for sure!

I caught a cab back to the hotel, and was stumbling inside clearly uncomfortable by the pain shooting through my arm, when I heard Jameson’s voice.

After resolving my confusion on why exactly he kept popping up at the hotel I was staying at, I felt silly. Giving into his kindness, I let him escort me to his room where he offered to help clean my wound up.

He pressed the button to the top floor when I glanced over and must have made a questionable facial expression.

“Oh yeah, I may live on the entire top floor..” he admits shyly.

“Oh wow” I sigh as we stepped out of the elevator revealing his gorgeous pent house.

“Nothing special but it’s a place to call home I suppose.” He explains as if this wasn’t the nicest penthouse ever.

“This is incredible! I’ve never been in a penthouse before.” I admitted.

“Come on, let’s see if we can clean up that cut you have there.” He said before grabbing my hand and leading me into a giant room, the back wall lined with windows, and into the one of many bathrooms this penthouse contained.

“So, what exactly happened to your arm?” He asks me worriedly as he rolled up my shirts sleeve. I couldn’t help but feel sparks burst over my skin. I felt my face burn and I quickly focused my attention elsewhere.

Noticing my reactions, he spoke “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to be nosy.”

“Oh no, it’s just a little tender!” I explained, technically not telling a lie, it really did hurt.

His eyes examined my wound and he starred at me. “This is a bullet graze” he suggests.

“What, ah, just a cut!” I sighed, wondering how the fuck he knew that.

“I know what I see Janice, who did this to you??”

I could tell he was angry by the injury I had sustained.

“Well I simply can’t go into details” I try to tell him. And the worries look on his face makes my heart strings tug. “I just work in a dangerous field. I’ve had worse happen, really!”

“I get it, I hate explaining my field of work too.” He says in agreement.

I let out a sigh of relief.

He bandages up the wound and explains happily that I wouldn’t be needing stitches.

“How about you make yourself at home and I’ll go pour us some drinks… looks like you would appreciate one?” He suggests.

I nod my head and smile, “I’ll take scotch on the rocks”

Jameson smirks before walking out of the bathroom and shutting the door behind him.

I looked around seeing the perfectly folded, fluffy white towels and suddenly couldn’t help myself. I jumped up and climbed into the shower, undressing myself.
