The attack

JANICE POV:

I had just reached the kitchen area when the lights went out. My heart skipped a beat when silence flooded around me. I couldn’t see anything and I started creeping around with my hands reached out in front of me. Jesus Janice your so stupid. I thought to myself and grabbed my phone from my pant pocket turning on my flashlight.

Then I heard what sounded like some sort of explosion and the noise of tons of feet shuffling inside the building, on the floor below me. Oh god, I thought as fear built up in my stomach. I went to call Jameson on my phone when I heard a gun shot from the stairwell.

I hysterically flung open a cabinet under the sink in the kitchen area and shoved myself inside.

Trying to close the doors behind me I felt like a fool hiding. But I was scared and I didn’t know what to think.
