Crash Landing

Adam

I stood transfixed to the ground like I was electrocuted. I'm really shocked by that expectation. I was shocked that I had to stare at the girl in complete shock. I could feel a different sparkle of shock run down my spine. I'm still in a great dilemma, I find it hard to believe that she just fell down for the sky. I couldn't fathom how she fell down from the sky. I stood still, staring at her with complete shock. This is really more than my imagination. I couldn't believe this. I stood with my legs, wobbling in fear.

What makes the situation more crazy and complicated is that I couldn't find any house or anything near that she could fall down from. I looked around, it was only a matter of seconds. We were surrounded by many people, some were panicking in fear as well.

"What's wrong with her? What happened to her?" These were the questions thrown at me. To avert their questions and gaze on me. I took the bold step. I quickly carried her in a bridal style and laid her in the backseat. I sat in the driver seat and reversed the car, then drove speedily to the nearest hospital in the community.

Wasn't it too great? I have a headache. Before that I was thinking of having a rest. Now I have to manage to get myself into an accident. Yes it was an accident, I just couldn't tell the police that she fell from the sky because it is impossible and unbelievable.

Getting to the gate of the hospital, I pressed the horn button of the car and almost immediately the gate pulled open. I drove speedily and crazily into the hospital compound. I parked skillfully at the parking lot and stepped on the brake of the car. I stepped out of the car and carried her in a bridal style out of the car. She was unconscious. Looking at her clearly, she was beautiful and cute. Her beauty seems to be out of this world. I was really mesmeriseda by her beauty. I was jolted out of my reverie as a nurse rushed to me.

"Bring the stretcher right now,"I said, hurriedly.

"What's wrong with her?"she asked with a worried look. I stared at her with an angry look.

"I don't know and don't ask me. Save her before questioning me. Get the stretcher right now,"I yelled out at her, and she shook her head in fear. She was scared at the way I sounded. She rushed into the hospital but before she could bring the stretcher. I walked into the main building of the hospital.

"Direct me to any vacant ward right now," I said and a nurse directed me to a vacant ward. I walked into the ward and stared at the girl in my arms in surprise. I could feel and hear her heart bear sounding rapidly. How did she manage to be this strong? I couldn't help but ask myself. She really seems mysterious to me. I dropped her on the bed, and almost immediately two nurses and the doctor walked in to treat her.

"Mr Smith please kindly leave for us to start the necessary treatment on her," the doctor said, pointing at the door as he removed the stethoscope around his neck and placed it on the girl's chest. I shook my head with a sigh and walked out of the ward.

I sat on a vacant chair outside the ward, waiting patiently for the doctor to treat her so that I could leave. I just want her to be fine before I leave for work. I looked up as I heard footsteps approaching me. It was the cop. They were in their uniforms.

"Good morning Mr Smith,"the two policemen said, and we both did a handshake.

"Morning, Mr John," he was the only policeman that I know between the two.

"You must have known why I'm here, Mr Smith, let's go straight to the point so that we would be able to return to our work," Mr John said, and I nodded my head affirmatively.

"You want to ask about what had happened in Patrick street right?" I asked, and they nodded their heads affirmatively to my statement.

"Yes, you are right and we would like you to explain to us in detail. We would really appreciate it," the police said, and I rubbed my hand on my chin, thinking of what I could tell them that would be contradictory to what happened because it is almost impossible.

"Well, I was driving my car to my office when-" I couldn't complete my statement as the door creaked open. The doctor walked out of the ward and came into view. I'm glad that he came right now because I don't know what explanation I could give to the policemen.

"The patient you brought. She is fine and conscious now which means you can go and talk to her. You are free to meet her," the doctor hummed , and walked away with the two nurses behind him. I stared at the doctor with a confused look. I mean it wasn't an hour until she came to the hospital. How come she recovered and gained consciousness so fast? I couldn't help but ask myself.

"Okay, doctor. Thanks for the information," I said, and stood up from the chair. I walked into the ward with the cops behind me. I stared at the strange lady on the bed. She was bandaged, and there was a pipe connected to her hand. She doesn't look horribly injured as she is supposed to. I'm dreaming or am I hallucinating? I couldn't help but ask myself. Though she was with all those injuries, she was looking very cheerful, energetic, and pretty ironic. She doesn't look like someone who fell down from the sky.

"Hello. I'm glad that you look better. We want to ask some certain things from you, and we would appreciate it if you tell us everything in detail," Mr John said, and the girl smiled at the cop.

"Okay, you can go ahead" she said, and I couldn't help but stare at her with surprise. Her accent doesn't seem to belong to our city, heck I have roamed around the world but I haven't listened to this accent ever. Where did she come from? I couldn't help but question myself.

"Well we want to ask a simple question. We want to ask about the accident. Where did you fall down from?" he asked, and she smiled.

"Well, actually I came from the sky and accidently had a crash landing which doesn't seem to be pleasant," she said, and we stared at her with a confused look. The silence and intensity in the room was really much. How on earth would she fall down from the sky? I had known that she fell from the sky but I couldn't believe that it wasn't my hallucination but it was the reality. Silence engulfed the room as we stared at her with a shock expression.

"Well, actually I mean that I fell down from a building rooftop,"she said, and they all heaved out a sigh of relief. It looked like she understood what she said. Though there wasn't any building as far as I could remember but I decided not to question her, maybe I was the one who didn't notice a building there. I couldn't help but wonder who the hell she was.

"Are you sure you fell by yourself and nobody else forced you? You can tell us the truth, you are safe here." The police spoke in a gentle tone. She laughed slightly.

"Of Course not, nobody was even on the rooftop at that time. I just wanted some fresh air but clumsy me, I fell down." She giggled.

"Okay, thanks for the information. We would take our leave," the cops said, and she smiled broadly at them.

"Goodbye, sir" I said, and shook hands with them. We exchanged pleasantries, and they walked out of the ward. I stared at the lady with a last glance and walked out of the ward.

I settled all the bails and the provision she might need for any day she would use in the hospital. I drop my contact in case they need anything concerning her. I walked out of the hospital, and walked up to my car. I entered the car, ignited the engine and drove out of the hospital to my office. I hope I will be able to attend the meeting. It is one hour and thirty minutes past the time I had scheduled to have a meeting with my business partner. They might have left out of anger. This wouldn't have happened if I hadn't saved that mysterious girl.

Getting to my office, I drove speedily into the company compound and parked skillfully at the parking lot. I stepped out of the car with a black briefcase. I walked into the company, my secretary quickly rushed toward me and collected the briefcase from my hand.

"Welcome sir. Where have you been sir?"she asked, but I didn't reply to her.

"So did we lose them?"I asked, and she nodded her head affirmatively.

"Yes, sir. We lost the contract,"she said but I didn't show any sign of discomfort even though it hurt me. I had to lose a huge contract because of that girl.

"Okay so what else is available?"I asked.

"There are some certain documents that require your signature, sir" I nodded my head and walked into my office.

There were a lot of files and documents on the table, waiting for me to attend to. I sat on the chair and worked on it. After a few hours of working on the files and documents. I put some certain files and documents that I'm yet to attend to. I walked out of my office with my black briefcase. Getting to my secretary's office. She bowed her head in respect as she noticed my presence.

"I need another assistant and I want you to start the interview for those who are interested from the day after tomorrow,"I said and she nodded her head affirmatively.

With that, I end my day with the same daily routine.
