Adam

I gasped out in shock as I glared at what's in front of me. I couldn't believe what I'm seeing. The coffee machine was laying down on the floor with the liquids spilled on the marble tile. I glared at Kathie who was holding a glowing gem in her hand, and her eyes were closed. I looked at her hand only to find a deep cut on her hand, and the gem was deeply pierced into her wound. What's wrong with her? I asked myself but I couldn't get an answer to it. You sustained a wound, and you're piercing a gem that could add to your wound. She is really unbelievable.

I rushed toward her, making sure I took my step carefully so as not to slip on the spilled liquid on the marble tiles. Getting closer to her, I took the gem from her hand. She opened her eyes, and squealed out loudly glaring at me with a confused look on her face. I rubbed my hand on my chin as I glared at her trying to know and understand more about her. She is such a weird person, and I can't believe it. Oh god.

"Why are you behaving like this? Not like I care but you have to stop acting childish. It doesn't suit you.The gem is only going to hurt the wound more, and it won't heal you. I wonder why you would think the gem will heal you," I said, and let out a soft groan from my lips.

"No it's not what you think. You don't know anything about…" I didn't let her complete her statement because I groaned out with a frustrated look on my face. She stopped as she noticed the look on my face.

I looked up as I heard some footsteps approaching my direction. I glared at the person in front. It is my dear secretary who fought yesterday. It seems he had noticed and heard my scream. I wonder what's wrong with me. Why am I so angry today?

He adjusted his clothes as he walked in between me and Kathie. He bowed his head gently as I glared at him with a cold look on my face.

"Please don't be angry at her sir. I would take care of it. Please don't scold her sir. She is new here," he said, and I nodded my head gently.

I glared at Kathie with a last glance before looking up. I crossed my hand behind my back. I made to walk away but I had to halt as something came to my mind.

"John," I called, and my secretary answered as he walked toward me with his head slightly bowed.

"Sir, how may I help you?" he asked as he rested his hand on his black tie knotted around his collarbone.

"I want a cup of black coffee in my office in the next few minutes, and I don't want any mistake or excuse. Also help Kathie with her wound," I said with a demanding tone. He nodded his head with a slight bow.

"Okay sir. I would do that," he said, and with that I proceeded toward the elevator that gets into my office. I walked into the elevator as I pressed some buttons which made the door open. I waited for a few seconds in the elevator before it pulled open with a ding sound.

I stepped out of the elevator as the door pulled open. The door closes automatically behind me. I walked out of the hallway, and made my way toward the passage that led to my office. Getting to my office, I held the knob of the door, and pushed the door open. I walked into the office, and let out a soft sigh. I shook my head while thinking about today's activities.

I huffed out heavily as I pulled the heavy coat from my body. I flung it around the swivel chair, and sat on it with my legs crossed against each other. I opened my laptop, and continued to work from where I stopped.

I should have been done with most of the jobs but all thanks to Kathie I'm yet to complete any work on my desk. Well with time, I would be able to finish it up as soon as possible.

Outside Adam's Office.

"Hey, come clean this place up,"John said to one of the domestic staff around the place. The young female cleaner nodded her head gently as she walked toward the coffee machine with a mop and a bucket filled with water.

He walked toward Kathie who was just looking like she was electrocuted. She is looking weird and funny at the same time. John observed her. He tapped her shoulder, jolting her out of her reverie. She jerked off from her thoughts, and looked at him with a startled and at the same time childlike look.

"What do you want?" she asked as she regained herself, and adjusted her clothes properly.

"The boss wants me to get you treated," he said, and she shook her head with a sigh.

"It doesn't matter. I'm fine," she said but he wasn't ready to listen. Ofcourse he wouldn't want to see the odd and bad side of Adam. Especially when his anger is over the top today.

"Like I have said it's an order from the boss not mine," he said, and she nodded her head gently knowing John is just completing his duty.

"Oh!?"

"Can you get going?"John asked, ignoring her expression, and the last statement. She nodded her head in approval, and with that he walked to the elevator with her. He took her to the elevator, and pressed onto a button which was six floors below.

They both walked into the elevator, and slowly the door pulled closed. "My name is John. I'm Adam's secretary and the head of the financial department," he introduced himself— breaking the silence that engulfed the elevator room. Kathie nodded her head gently without saying anything. To her, there is nothing to say about it. Or what is she supposed to say? She asked herself but she couldn't get an answer to it.

"How is your wound? Is it hurting you?" he asked with a worried look on his face. The wound looked quite deep also.

"No it isn't. Thanks for your concern," she said, and he stared at her with an unbelievable look on his face. He can't believe that she is fine. If it would have been John then he would have leaked out numerous tears and a few profanities also.

John talked with her a bit. They both walked out of the elevator as it made a ding sound. He led her to the company infirmary.

Walking into the infirmary, one of the nurses attended to her. "Please check her hand," he said, and stood beside Kathie who sat down on the chair. The nurse stood up to get the first aid kit.

ADAM

I let out a soft sigh while drinking the cup of coffee in my hand. I really need to clear my mind. The girl is way too childish for me, and I hate it. I would give her some work to check her capabilities— if she is really good and competent with work as stated in her CV, because she isn't looking like that much mature to handle the responsibilities. If she doesn't meet up with it, then I have no option than to replace her.

I huffed out loudly, and closed the laptop as I completed two most of the important and numerous jobs on my shelf. I'm really tired and exhausted. I have attended two meetings today and completed the paperwork too.

Having done half of the job, I decided to check on Kathie. Does she need a day off or want to continue the work? I thought I would ask her about it after reaching there.

On getting there,I was shocked to see John on top of Kathie.

What the heck is going on!?

  • Falling to where I belong   The Lion's Den

AdamWhat! My eyes bulged out in shock as I stepped over at the other side of the office. I glared at Kathie with a cold and angry look on my face. She didn't look bothered by the look on my face. She crossed her arm under her breast with a cold look on her face. I stood up from the chair abruptly as soon as I got pushed by her. How dare she say "shut up to me?" I asked myself with a cold look on my face. My heart beat skipped a few beats in anger.I looked up as I heard murmuring outside my transparent glass office. I glanced at my coworkers and staff who were standing at the front of my office with a glimpse of curious look on their faces. Some of them were with files and documents that they're supposed to work on. Some of them didn't have anything with them. I could tell that they were praying silently for her to survive her first day without getting fired. They could tell that I'm really angry. They're all aware of my anger issue. How dare she? She got some real gut.Huh.Kathie gl

  • Falling to where I belong   Male ego

AdamI woke up with a groan as the sound of the blaring alarm rang into my ears, disturbing my peaceful sleep. I covered my ears with a pillow, but the alarm won't stop disturbing me. I threw the pillow away, and reached for the alarm beside me. I switched it off, and let out a soft sigh. I stood up from the bed, and stretched my hand apart with a smile beaming on my face. I let out a yawn feeling refreshed and strong, more like before that I always become weak whenever I wake up from my sleep. It's a good thing that things changed today. Maybe because I slept off early yesterday which was unusual for me. I don't normally sleep early. I'm really tired yesterday because I didn't have time to go through Kathie CV properly but I could tell it's a good one. I pulled off my black pyjamas, and dropped it on the floor before putting on flip flops. I walked into the bathroom, and turned on the shower. I stared at my abs as water gushed down from the shower. I walked out of the bathroom aft

  • Falling to where I belong   My work is my priority

AdamI drove my Lexus RX car into the compound as the gateman opened the gate for me. I skillfully parked at the parking lot without making noise. I stepped out of my car with a black briefcase at the left side of my hand. I smiled as I stared at the mansion building in front. It looks so nice and good to me. I wonder why I find it nice now after so many years or months. Maybe because I'm occupied with a lot of work that I don't have time to observe my surroundings which is really bad. It shouldn't be like that. It isn't good enough.I walked into the house with the briefcase in my left hand. I looked up as a sweet and beautiful aroma hit my nose. It was so mouthwatering that I had to sniff every ounce of the scent that wafted the atmosphere in the room. My heart flutters knowing it's my mum cooking in the kitchen. Maybe I should go surprise her. I'm very sure she would be surprised to see me at home by this time of the day. I can't wait to see her priceless expression. I didn't infor

  • Falling to where I belong   You're applying as my assistant

Adam"What! I can't believe this,""Is this for real? A newbie spanking the butt of the CEO,""This is really ridiculous,""I hope the CEO get over it because I know she is a dead meat for sure,"These were the comments of my staff and workers. I glared at them with a cold and deadly look. I ignored my workers and staff that were praying silently for her— knowing how short tempered I am. I turned back to see the person who had the gut to spanked my butt in the presence of my staff. I clenched my hand into a fist with an angry look on my face. I'm going to make the person regret their irresponsible action. I was shocked and surprised to see the same girl that I met in my car. The mysterious girl that I accidentally hit with my car or fell from the sky to the front of my car. I shook my head with a sigh. She looked at me with cute smile on her face. What's wrong with her? I asked myself but I couldn't get an answer to it. I don't know what's wrong with her. She grinned as I glared at

  • Falling to where I belong   Why don't you take a break?

Adam I drove home after a hectic day at the office, and it was late in the night as usual. I tiptoed into the house which was awfully silent. I didn't want my mum to see me coming home, and I successfully sneaked in but I was surprised when I saw my mum staring at me. She was seated on the couch in my room staring at the door. It was as if she had known I was going to sneak in and she was expecting me at that moment. I sighed heavily as I scratched the back of my neck nervously trying to come up with a lie to save myself from her, she raised her eyebrows staring at me intently. I shivered slightly under her gaze, chills of fear ran down my spine as she stared at me. I couldn't help but wonder how she knew I would enter the house at that moment. I should have taken the back door but I thought she would be asleep like always when I get home but she isn't. I don't know what excuses to come up with just to escape her ranting for tonight, I knew she was just being a caring mother to me
