Chapter 58: Cessation

Shooting her eyes open, Sophia found Noah bent in front of her, all his concentration placed on unknotting the damn ropes twisted around her wrist.

“Noah.”

Sophia managed to utter through her dry throat, with obvious quiver in her voice, eyes fogging with moisture.

“I am sorry Sophia.”

Noah spoke, but never raised his line of sight to meet Sophia’s eyes, he was not able to do so.

“Sorry for?”

Sophia asked, not getting his point.

“Sorry, because of me and my family drama you are in this turmoil, stuck.”

Still Noah didn’t raised his lids.

“Thank you.”

Finally, Noah looked up, to peep in Sophia’s hazel woods, to find only candour.

“For coming to rescue me.”

After a mere pause, she spoke again.

“You turned from a villain to hero of my life.”

The later part she spoke with a laugh.

Leaving the ropes in it’s place, Noah hugged Sophia, tightly, as if have found his peace in her, around her.
