AMERICA DAVIES
A petrified gasp escaped my mouth as I jolted awake in the middle of the night, I looked into my mirror that stared back at me and noticed the crystal beads of sweat that glistened on my forehead.I heard loud thuds of the rain against my roof, a lightning as bright as daylight struck and I felt my heart stop beating for a moment. I could hear the cackling of unknown birds even through the loud noises of the rain, I tried to breathe but I could only exhale. Suddenly, I heard a very loud thud at the front door and I screamed. I got off my bed and went to the kitchen to get myself a weapon for protection, "okay, this should protect me from… whatever it is." I told myself as I picked up a big knife. The noises became clearer, someone was trying to open my door and I couldn't help but to wonder, who could it be? I felt my legs tremble as I approached my door, my heart began pounding. I placed my hand on the knob and pulled it, without hesitation, I charged at the beast that tried to break in. "Woah!!!" Travis exclaimed as he managed to dodge my weapon. "What's wrong?" I threw the knife to the ground and crouched beside it, tears began rolling down my face. "Baby what's wrong?" He crouched next to me. "I'm scared, I saw him." I buried my face in my palms. "It's okay, come here." He pulled me to his chest and wrapped his arms around my waist. He was soaked from the rain and his wet body pressed against mine but I didn't mind. "Whatever nightmares you're having, you'll always have me in reality. Don't fear the world of night, I'll be there to hold your hand however dark it might be." I felt the tensity flow out of me as his lips curved into a smile. I nodded like an infant. He moved closer to my face and kissed me. "Let's get you back to bed." He lifted me in his arms like I weighed nothing more than paper. He took me back to my bedroom and placed me on the bed. "I would lay next to you but I'm soaked." "I don't mind." He smiled then climbed the bed next to me. He took off his soaked shirt and remained shirtless. The water droplets on his body made him glisten under the dim lights of my bedroom. I crawled into his arms and he cuddled me tight. Whenever I was with Travis, I forgot my worries in the blink of an eye. I placed my head on his broad chest, his steady heartbeat served as a melodious lullaby that helped me fall asleep. ★•★ A tired yawn escaped my mouth as I sat up in bed, I turned to my alarm clock and realized it was almost noon. "I was asleep that long?" "You were." I noticed Travis standing by the door and I smiled at him, "I thought you left." "Why would I ever leave you?" He walked towards me. He climbed the bed and settled opposite me, pushing a strand of hair behind my ear. I felt his breath on my face, it smelt like coffee and I enjoyed it. He pressed his lips against mine, hard and wanting, and I parted mine to let him in. His hand explored my body through the thin linen lingerie I had on and it sent shivers down my spine. I wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling him on top of me but he resisted. He suddenly pulled back, leaving me craving for him. "What's wrong?" "As much as I'd love this, I have to go." "Why?" "I'm on patrol with Dad, let's see tonight. It's the last night of the full moon.""Okay." I smiled. "I love you." He planted a kiss on my lips before leaving. ★•★ The full moon shone in the dark night sky that was decorated with glittering stars. It was almost eight and I had already been waiting at the grey since seven. I heard the sound of a twig break as someone trampled on it and I turned around. "You're an early wolf." Travis said as he approached me. "The moon is most beautiful from here." I said as I looked up at the sky. I felt like the moon gave extra energy to me and I enjoyed it as it surged through my veins. "They say the moonlight is more powerful on the last night." He said to me like he had read my mind. "I can feel it." He moved closer to me and grabbed me by the waist, "you look so beautiful under the moonlight." His beautiful eyes glistened with admiration. "Are you ready?" I nodded. He took my hand in his and closed his eyes, "I Travis Sky, swear by the light of the moon to love you for all eternity America Davies. My every smile, laughter, cry, shall be with you and no other woman. I love you America." "I love you forever." "May we be joined, to part no more." He howled to the moon and I joined in. "To seal our promise to each other…" he pulled me to himself, our chest pressed against each other. He leaned closer to kiss me and I closed my eyes. I felt his lips against my shoulder, so gentle I could almost mistake it for the breeze.I could feel his needs for my body as he tenaciously pressed his lips against mine and I parted them for him. Our tongues danced together and I could almost taste the meal he had for dinner. The next thing I knew, we were on the ground and the weight of his whole body was placed on me. He kissed me everywhere and I couldn't help but to howl. Right there on that spot, we made love for the first time under the light of the moon. ★•★As we laid in each other's arms, I suddenly felt the watchful eyes of a predator lurking in the shadows and just as I guessed it, we weren't alone. "Watch out!" I felt my heart seize as a mighty wolf leaped for me and all I froze.TRAVIS SKY I raced for her and pulled her out of dangers sight."Great speed dude." Alaric complemented as he shifted back to himself."What the hell? You almost killed me!" America yelled out."But I didn't." He chuckled and America waved him off like a fly. "I'm here for you Travis, the alpha is calling for you.""Dad? Why?""Don't know.""I'll be there."★ One week later ★I laid on my bed with my eyes closed and a pillow against my face, trying to keep the sound of my ringtone out of my head. I heard a knock on my door and before I could even answer, it click opened. "Travis." Mom said in the most tender voice.I raised the pillow from my face and stared silently at her. She climbed my bed. "Look outside the window." I got off my bed and reluctantly walked to the window. Peeking through the curtain, I saw America as she strolled down the road, she stopped, kicked an innocent stone, then continued walking. I went back to my bed. Mom wrapped her arms around me and gently patt
AMERICA DAVIES "Let's get ready!" I told myself. I felt my wolf howl with excitement and I couldn't help but to smile. A dress as beautiful as the night sky caught my attention as it shimmered in my wardrobe. "December twenty seven." I felt my lips curve into a smile as I remembered the backstory of the dress. "Snap out of it!" I shook my head. I was far from ready when it was already seven. I slipped into the dress and it still fitted like a glove. I heard a knock on my door and I knew it was none other than Celestia, my sister in the pack. She walked in with a few bags in her hands. "Ooh! Someone looks hot! Where is she going?""I'm going to see Travis." She sighed, "are you going to sit at his porch again all night?" "What no! He texted me." I smiled. "Finally! That jerk." She sat on my bed. "The howling hollow is around the corner, it's just a few blocks away, what are we going to wear?" She grumbled. "Is that why you brought your entire wardrobe to my house?" "It's a fa
TRAVIS SKY "Honey, what are you doing not in your tuxedo?" My mother asked as she walked into my room. I hadn't even heard her open the door. "You know if you don't hurry, your father is going to flip this house upside down… literally." She smiled with her arms akimbo. "I will only be a minute more." "Are you going to spend that extra minute sitting on your desk and staring out the window like a depressed teenage girl?" She asked as she strolled towards me but I remained silent. She sighed, placing a hand on my shoulder, "honey," her lips curved into a faint smile, "I don't know what to say to make you feel better, I am honestly sorry about everything your father is putting you through." I looked away from the window then at her. "There is no need to be sorry mom, I really am fine now." "Really?" She questioned in a tone that portrayed the disbelief in her. "Yeah! When I realized that what I am doing is what is right for every single one of us, including her and the whole
AMERICA DAVIES SEVEN YEARS LATER... "Kids hurry up, it's time for breakfast!" I yelled out. I was flipping pancakes, making toasts, packing the kids lunch and preparing some fresh orange juice. "Mom! Dara won't give me back Mr bunny ears!" Lara yelled out as she ran down the stairs, almost in tears. "Lara please don't cry, Dara where is the teddy?" "I only wanted to borrow it." Dara explained as he descended from the stairs with a stuffed rabbit in his hand. "Well she doesn't want to borrow you right now, how many times have I told you to stop bugging your sister?""I'm sorry Mom, here you go Lara." He said as he handed the stuffed animal to his sister. "Where is Cara?" I asked as I served them breakfast. "In the bathroom." Lara said, already eating her pancakes. "Why?" "Her tooth fell out this morning." She said as she played with her pancakes and her leg dangled happily from the chair. "Oh dear, Lara stop playing with your food, Dara finish your food, I'm going to get
TRAVIS SKYThe neighboring community had finally promised to caution their rogues from breaching our territory and everything else was intact... It was a job well done for me."I must say, you are doing a better job than I thought you would." Alaric complimented.I smiled in response. We both strolled down the busy town, exchanging greetings with a few people and cross checked for anything that might seem out of place. "I heard your sister came visiting.""Yeah, I'll be going to see her later today." "Okay Travis, send my greetings alright?" He nudged my shoulder, "I gotta go meet Laura and the pups." He said before running off."Tell her I said hi!" I yelled and he nodded in response.Ever since I became the alpha, I had been ready for everything life threw at me, even when I had to battle a stronger wolf to save my community, I prevailed to my utmost surprise. But the one thing I was yet to conquer was the infinity between my wife and I."You're back early today." Darla uttered wi
AMERICA DAVIESFeeling like the last drop of liquid in me had dried up, I took yet another large gulp from the glass of water in my hand. I kept tapping my feet on the ground and the sound it produced annoyed me but I didn't stop, I couldn't."Let's bail it." My wolf told me but I refused. "We are doing this for the pups, remember? He is the only one that can help us find them." "Crap!" "Are you ready to see him?" Alaric interrupted our conversation."Huh? Yeah." I forced a smile on my face. I got up and nervously followed him as he led the way. I felt a knot in my stomach and my pores began to leak with sweat. I felt my heart pounding like it wanted to bail on me but I had to remain strong. "For the kids, for the kids, for the kids...." I repeated the mantra in my head. There he was, sitting only a few steps from me. His eyes lingered on me while his facial expression portrayed bewilderment... So I felt. His beautiful eyes were fixed on me and I felt my whole self freeze. It was
TRAVIS SKYI rushed to her just in time to break her fall, she was frozen still in my arms like a statue-- just like the night my dad and I found her in the freezing snow. "Are you okay?" Celestia asked as she rushed to us.Just like the night she had a nightmare, I huddled her in my arms while gently patting on her back. She felt so little in my arms and her familiar scent caressed my nose. I had missed her so much and I had forgotten how helpless she became whenever she was frightened. The others gathered around us, all asking the same question Celestia did. She raised her fidgeting index finger to the window and broken words escaped her trembling mouth. "There...there was someone... Out there.""Go survey the surroundings now!" I instructed Alaric and Dylan followed. As her consciousness started to kick in, she jerked free from my hold, obviously not with the intention of being so rough as her lips curved into an awkward smile. She folded into Celestia's arms, seemingly more c
AMERICA DAVIES"Mom! Marshall drank my milk!" Marshall and Misha were twins and they were five while Jessy was three. As Misha whined to her mother about her brother drinking her milk, Marshall also yelled in an attempt to justify his action and Celestia seemed to be having a mental breakdown."Are those two always like that?" I asked Jessy who was relaxing in my arms the whole evening."They are always fighting and giving mommy a headache." "Should we help?" "Mommy can handle it." She plainly responded as she played with her doll."Enough!" Celestia growled at the twin who instantly fell silent. "If you wanted more milk Marshall then you should have asked me and Misha... Learn to share." The latter words came out with a devastated sigh."Yes mommy." They both responded before running up the stairs.Celestia tiredly dragged her feet as she walked and settled next to me on the couch. "Twins are a headache, how do you raise triplets?" "It's not easy." A bittersweet chuckle escaped m
