Chapter 6

Jay's pov

"You said...WHO IS HERE?" I stood up suddenly and my hand hit the glass beside me, resulting in a huge crash. Kevin sighed.

"Chill, Jay. Astra's here. THAT Astra. Your mate. Yes, her. She wants to talk to you. Alone," he said.

"What's up with them? Just yesterday, her brother was here, creating chaos, telling me he won't approve of me being with his sister. Today, she is here herself. This is a little...stressful." I rubbed my temples. Kevin sighed.

"So...do you want me to send her in or not?" he asked again. I nodded.

"Of course, send her in. She has come a long way. We can't send her back just like that, can we?"

"You don't need to make any excuses," he mumbled, and sighing, he went outside to tell Astra that she could enter.

I quickly fixed my hair and jacket and straightened myself. I heard a knock on the door.

"Yes?" I stood up. Astra entered. She looked so pretty, prettier than she was 2 years back when I left, prettier than the time I got a glimpse of her on the day I found out she was my mate. I was left speechless. She cleared her throat and I came back to my senses.

"Astra...you're here..." I said as she came and sat down in front of me.

"Seems so. I figured that I had to come to see you someday no matter how much I did not want to." OUCH! She's awfully blunt. "Mom told me to come and see you because that would probably be better. So I thought, the earlier, the better. So I came today." Kevin came in with water and put it in front of us. He bowed slightly at Astra and she bowed back slightly at him too. We waited in silence as Kevin left the room.

"So..." I began but Astra motioned me to be quiet.

"Let me put my thoughts in, Jay. I thought about it a lot last night and I came to this conclusion. It's gonna be hard for me to stay away from you too so we do not have any other choices but I hate you, Jay, I really do. You probably know that too. I have not forgiven you for what you did back then, no matter what reasons you had. I came to tell you that. We cannot be together. But staying apart is going to be painful. So every time it starts to hurt, let's meet up. I know I am being selfish right now but you have no right to say that after all that happened." she said and stood up, ready to leave.

"Astra..." I called out but stooped as she had already reached the door and didn't even look back. With the sound of the door being slammed, I felt my heart clutch. I stumbled and pressed my hand against my chest and I managed to not fall down.

"Heh! What was I even expecting? Of course, she would defy the moon goddess and reject me as her mate after all that happened." I told myself bitterly and smiled a sad smile.
