Fourteen years later
The members of the Redmoon pack mourned over the death of their Alpha; he had suddenly passed away in his sleep with no prior illness or disease.
Fredrick, to everyone's knowledge, was perfectly healthy and agile. He had even addressed his members the night before and nothing seemed to be wrong with him until they suddenly heard of his untimely death that apparently had no actual cause.
The sudden death of Frederick had hit Marco, his Beta, very hard as himself and Fredrick had discussed a very confidential subject the night before and Fredrick had entrusted him with the safety of the pack. A feeling of guilt had overwhelmed him for not realising that his previous conversation would be the last he ever had with his dear friend. Little did he know that it would be their last conversation and the final order he'd receive as the Beta of the pack.
Marco had lost his entire family at a really young age to the terrible hands of the silvermoon pack but fortunately for him, Frederick who was a few years older than he was, took him in as his friend, took care of him and even ended up making him his Beta and his right hand man. A favour he would forever be grateful for.
Kira stood still opposite her father's body. She kept staring at him wishing she could bring herself to break down in tears like she wanted to but she just couldn't do it.
Her knees felt numb and weak and every part of her wished she could bring herself to let out her tears like every other person but for someone like her, who grew up believing that crying and letting out your emotions was a weak thing to do, she could not bring herself to express her pain.
"Cry Kira, let it out." A voice within kept saying she should but she just couldn't.
She moved towards her father's corpse, hoping that the closer she got, the easier it would be for her to finally let herself cry. She took his cold hands in hers and a feeling of intense sadness shot through her, almost like the death of her father was only just hitting her as a reality.
She stared down at him and shut her eyes very quickly, taking in a deep breath and exhaling hard to control herself. She wished she could scream at herself but she couldn't do that in front of several people. She wished she could yell and curse at life for taking her father away from her without even giving her a chance to say goodbye to him.
"D...dad? W...wake up." She stuttered shakily. She knew he couldn't hear her, she knew he was gone but she still wanted to try. She didn't mind trying even harder. She thought, maybe, just maybe, the moon goddess would take pity on her and bring back her father so she doesn't have to live as an orphan at such an early stage in her life.
"You shouldn't have done this to me dad, you shouldn't have left me. You told me you'd never leave me with my permission, you promised you dad. You said you'd always protect me and be there for me. Why aren't you keeping any of your promises?" She muttered in a low tone as memories of her father's promises started to flood her mind.
"Kira dear, please take it easy." Her aunt, Layla says to her and she mentally scoffs.
"Should I take it easy? Really auntie? My father, your brother is lying down here cold and unresponsive from one day to the next and you expect me to take it easy? He was all I had auntie, he was everything to him and now he's gone. Just like that, he left me without even getting a chance to say goodbye to me and it's not fair aunt, it's really not. He deserved a much longer life and I deserved to have my father in my life for a much longer time." She said to her aunt, who was trying as much as she could to control herself from breaking down. Watching her niece break down this much broke her heart but unfortunately, she was helpless.

Two hefty looking men were mercilessly dragged in by Draco, Alpha Damien's best friend and right hand man.
Damien had become the Alpha of his pack at age twenty when his father, the late Alpha died of a heart problem. It was quite easy for him to adapt to his new role as the Alpha as he had been trained all his life on how to successfully lead the pack.
The two Draco had brought in were members of the Redmoon pack who had audaciously trespassed the Silvermoon pack territory.
Draco, who happened to be the Beta of the pack had his men protect each border of entry of the pack and that was how his men were able to get hold of the intruders.
Damien frowned deeply as soon as his eyes met with the intruders that Draco had brought in with him. He knew already by their scent what pack they belonged to and his blood boiled at the fact that they had the audacity to trespass into his territory knowing fully well what would happen if they got caught. It only showed just how nonchalant and dismissive the Red Moon pack is about just how powerful and dangerous their pack can be especially for their kind. He hated them even more for such disrespect.
"You should have just told your men to kill them off the minute they caught them, why would you bother letting them drag these good for nothing all the way here?" Damien asked, staring at both men in obvious disgust.
"For a good purpose, my dear friend." Draco replied, earning a confused look from Damien.
"What purpose could they possibly have?" He asked.
"Well, for starters, we could imprison them and then we'll torture them and make them tell us everything that's happening back in their pack. You and I know just how sneaky these bastards are and for them to actually send in two of their people to spy on us means that they are up to something and whatever it is won't be good. So I believe it's best we suck out enough information from these idiots and be prepared for the absolute worst." Draco explained.
Damien let out a heavy sigh. He understood Draco's point and knew exactly what he meant but deep down, he just wanted absolutely nothing to do with any member of the Redmoon pack. He detested them and preferred to stay away from knowing anything about them.
"You do have a point though. Those bastards really are the absolute worst and we should expect nothing less from them." Damien said as his memory flashed back to the time when he was attacked by one of them out of nowhere.
About eight years ago, Damien was attacked by a Redmoon pack member who had been sent to assassinate him. Fortunately for Damien, he was able to immediately detect the presence of his assailant as soon as she was close enough and when they both got into a fight, he overpowered her and used his claws to dive deep into her heart, killing her instantly. He had gone against a good number of them at other times and he never hesitated to snap their necks once.
"Have them get dragged into the dungeon and have our men torture them until they say somethingthat we may find useful and if they refuse, dispose their dead bodies without wasting time, understood?" Damien ordered, earning a satisfied smirk from Draco who absolutely loved the idea of torturing them. He had strangely developed an intense addiction to torturing any member of the Redmoon pack and he believed his love for torturing them is as a result of the grudge he had against them for killing his mother.
"It will be my pleasure Alpha." He replied with a dark chuckle, pulling both men by their hair and having his men drag them out like mere dogs while he trailed behind them.

Damien retired to his room, feeling stressed out and sleepy. He pulled his clothes off and walked towards the bath prepared for him.
Just as he stood in his naked glory in front of his bath, a soft delicate hand wrapped itself around him from behind. He need not look behind him to know who exactly it was that daringly walked into his bathroom.
Sheila moaned as her hands gently massaged Damien's dick. She could tell that she already turned him on without even having to do too much.
She kissed his back slowly and softly while her hands happily played with his balls.
"Shit!" Damien groaned in pleasure.
In a swift move, he turned around to face her with a smile on his face.
"What are you doing here and how did you get in?" He asked because he had not told her of this place yet.
She smirked as she licked her bottom lip slowly and sensually.
"Are you surprised? I mean come on, you and I. I have my ways of finding out everything that relates to you but why didn't you tell me about this place yourself?" Sheila asked, obviously not upset about it.
Shelia's voice was like music to Damien's ears. He could listen to her speak all day long and he wouldn't get tired. He enjoyed lengthy conversations with her as she was his very own definition of peace and love.
He grabbed her hands in his, squeezing then lightly,
"I promise I didn't mean to." He said and she pouted.
Everything Sheila did in his eyes would always be perfect. She was his definition of perfection, elegance and genuine love. He loved every single thing about her and would never do anything to hurt her, never.
She wasn't the strongest wolf around but she was exactly what he needed in his life. His peace of mind.
"You don't have to explain yourself my love, I don't need it." She said to him quickly as she did not want him to believe she had any feeling of anger towards him over something so trivial.
"Want to take a bath with me?" Damien offered, with obvious hunger and desire in his eyes and Sheila chuckled at how easily she was able to trigger his wild side.
"Great offer my love but I'll pass. Remember you have an event to attend tomorrow and since I won't be going with you, I need you to be completely focused on your aim." She reminded him and he sighs.
"Come on Sheila, a harmless bath won't make me forget about a mere event." He retorted and she frowned.
"It's not just any event my love, it's a gathering of all the Alpha's from every neighboring pack and even foreign packs. It's a great opportunity for you to show your superiority and your intelligence. The other Alpha's would probably look down on you thinking you're young and weak and this gathering is your chance to show them that you may be young but if there's something you're not, it's most definitely not weak. So my love, take a bath and get enough rest cause you have a long day tomorrow." She said to him and although Damien knew she had a point, he still did not want to let her go.
"How about a kiss?" He begged, she chuckled.
"We'll have all the fun you want Damien but only after tomorrow's event, sound good?" She teased and he groaned helplessly as he watched her sashay out of the bathroom with a sly smile tugging on her lips.
"Love you babe!" She hollered from a distance and he couldn't help but grin at just how amazing she was.
Marco had received a letter of invitation to the gathering of the Alpha's a few days prior to Frederick's death. He stared at the invitation as he pondered on how to represent Frederick in his absence. He knew just how important such a gathering was for their pack as it would not only be a means of economic growth and stability but also a means of creating a reasonable and necessary alliance that would be very helpful in future especially during an unexpected and unforeseen war with the Silvermoon pack. Marco knew Kira would have to eventually take over as the next Alpha but he didn't think she was ready enough to take such a bold step of attending such an event. He knew just how difficult it would be for her to get over her father's death and making her do something like this would only be cruel of him.
"Kira dear, look at me." Layla said to Kira, taking her hand in hers and pulling her towards her."Take a very deep breath and exhale. You are going to do just fine there, okay?" She assured a nervous Kira.Marco, Layla and Kira were already standing outside the hall, getting ready to go in and Layla could practically hear her niece's heart beating at an unusual pace.Kira could not deny or hide just how nervous she was. She had never been allowed outside her pack ever and she hasn't really had the opportunity to meet other wolves outside her pack members. She could only tell their scents and pack names due to the training she had received but aside from that, she had no real experience with outsiders. She int
Kira sat on her bed with her eyes closed and her fist clenched tightly in fury. She couldn't even control her breathing as she was still trying to comprehend what had happened yesterday and make sense of it but like she expected, it made no sense and the situation made her feel restless. Just how could he be my mate? How in the world does that even make any sense? She wondered to herself in surprise and just when she thought she'd get no answer, her wolf, Kiana, decided to chime into her thoughts. "Kira, don't get started on this and make all of this a big deal." Kiana scolded and Kira frowned. "Don't you dare jump into my thoughts if you don't plan on actually helping me out here." She retorted in frustration. "Well if you keep asking yourself questions concerning my mate and wondering why he is my mate, I will have no other choice than to reply to you and calmly remind you
Damien rolled off Sheila, resting on his back on the side of the bed while panting quite heavily."That was amazing!" Sheila drawled in contentment, whilst also trying to catch her breath."I know right." Damien replied with a chuckle. They were both trying to catch their breath after going at it for hours. Now they were both quietly staring into space, Damien started to think of how he'd reveal to Sheila who his mate was.He didn't know whether or not now was the right time to tell her but he knew if she found out from someone else other than him, it would definitely hurt her feelings and put him in a more difficult place. He turned to stare at her and his eyes immediately landed on her perfectly sculpted body, making him hard for her all over again.Sheila noticed the way Damien looked at her and she blushed. "Don't tell me you want to go
"Let me get this straight Auntie, you want me to just set out to find this so-called spiritual mother? How though? Where do I go looking exactly? How do I recognise even one and even if by one crazy luck I do meet one, what exactly am I supposed to say? Hi, I'm Kira and I want to know why my mate is my mate and if it's related to a supposed old prophecy?" Kira asked, not bothering to hide her sarcasm."You don't need to recognize a spiritual mother my dear. All you have to do is walk deep into the forest and set your mind on finding her, it is said that a spiritual mother will only appear to those who seek her with a pure heart and you may not recognise her but she'll recognise you and if she thinks you're worth gracing her presence then she'll let you recognize her." Layla explained and Kira could not believe the gibberish she just heard. How in the world does any of this make sense to her aunt?"Hold on a second auntie, I'm a little lost here. So what you're telling
Kira sat quietly for a few minutes before heaving a sudden sigh of relief. She couldn't be more grateful that her unplanned journey to finding a spiritual mother wasn't a failure and although she still felt very nervous and creeped out by her, she had definitely expected her to look even more scary.Kira had so many questions to ask and she could not contain her excitement as questions start to pop in her head and her curiosity suddenly peaked but just when she was about to throw questions at the old woman whose eyes had not left her for even a split second, she realises her throat was way too dry and she had trouble actually speaking up.As if reading her mind, the old woman walks towards a jar of water and fetches her a cup to her surprise and this made Kira slightly nervous as she suddenly started to sense something odd about her."You are thirsty my dear, I can tell and it's because of the place." The wom
Kira had gotten back home with a completely different mindset and goal. Now she could say for sure that she knows what to do next. Even though she was certain that whatever it is she does may not sit well with a lot of people, she couldn't afford to put them into consideration knowing just how much is at stake if she becomes nonchalant. Layla had a smile on her face when her eyes met with Kira's. The look in her niece's eyes were much more different than the look she had in her eyes before she left. She excuses herself from Luca before pulling Kira out of her house and towards Kira's own house which wasn't too far from hers. "Welcome back from the jungle my dear." She teased jokily as soon as they arrived in Kira's bedroom.
Damien could not believe his eyes. The fact Kira had dared to step into his territory made him both furious and curious. What exactly could have brought her all the way here knowing the danger she is actually putting herself in? He wondered to himself."I must admit that really did amaze me by coming all the way here by yourself. Do you really have a death wish or something?" He asked with curious eyes as he moved closer and closer to where she stood. The man who had brought Kira in had already left as soon as her presence was announced and Draco had decided against staying too close to them but he was definitely not losing his guard.Kira seemed to be unfazed by Damien's attempt to intimidate her. Her hands were still tied with the rope but strangely, she wasn't even bothered by this."Don't tell me you are actually thinking of killing her Damien?" Damon, his wolf asked but Damien is qui
