Charlotte.

"In the midst of my demise, the squirrel's intrusion breathed new life into me, allowing me to forge ahead and create this pack. And now, I believe you, Charlotte, have been chosen for the very same reason - to carry on where I left off. I apologize for not recognizing it sooner and subjecting you to torment. But, if you don't mind, would you be willing to take on the mantle of the next queen?" she proposed.

The intensity in her eyes assured me that this was no jest; her decision was resolute. Yet, everything was unfolding at an alarming pace. One moment, I was an omega, the next, the pack's chef. And now, I was being asked to ascend to the throne. My life felt like a wild whirlwind, akin to a reckless rollercoaster ride. If only I could disembark, even if just for a fleeting moment.

"That's quite the offer, but can I simply return to being the pack's chef? I've grown accustomed to this role, you know. Swiftly climbing the ranks isn't exactly what I had in mind. I'm content with where I am now," I pleaded, hoping she would understand.

"Even if you attempt to revert, the past is irretrievable. You are no longer the person you once were. Everyone witnessed how you shielded us from our foes, how the squirrel breathed its essence into you. You now carry its spirit within you. No one would dare belittle you or assign you trivial tasks," she assured.

It was a bitter pill to swallow, admitting that she was right. I longed for things to remain as they were, just as I was beginning to settle into this way of life. But alas, fate had other plans. Something formidable loomed on the horizon, ready to snatch it all away. Yet, despite my reluctance, I couldn't resign myself to living this life indefinitely.

"I'm afraid I must decline your proposal," I confessed, my voice tinged with apprehension. "I don't believe I possess the necessary qualities. However, if you allow me, I will prove myself. It wouldn't be fair to suddenly bestow upon me this position when others have dedicated themselves to training for so long." As I spoke, my words were directed at Iris, and the queen, well aware of the connection, averted her gaze, a flicker of guilt passing through her eyes. Undeterred by her pained expression, I pressed on with my speech. "Only by earning their trust will the others willingly submit to me. I have no desire to force their allegiance, but rather to deserve it." I couldn't fathom where this newfound conviction had originated, but it felt right. Even I was astounded by my own words, and the queen, too, seemed captivated, nodding in agreement.

"I can sense her presence within you," she acknowledged, her voice filled with certainty. "You are indeed the rightful candidate, brimming with wisdom. I have no doubt that you will prove yourself and make me proud. Today was merely a glimpse of what lies ahead. It won't be easy, but I know you will conquer it. And when you do, the throne will be here, patiently awaiting your arrival."

I emerged from her chambers, only to discover Iris waiting outside, her countenance betraying that she had overheard our conversation. And boy, did she appear furious. It became clear that I would never ascend to the throne without first gaining her trust. In truth, I felt a pang of sympathy for her, as she had dedicated years of her life to training, believing that one day she would become the Queen.

"Do you possess the audacity to accept my challenge, Charlotte?" she practically shot laser beams from her eyes.

"Perhaps we should postpone this for now. The others are still reeling from recent events, and it would only add to their stress," I suggested.

Iris vehemently disagreed, asserting, "That is precisely why we must fight now! It will uplift their spirits, boost morale, and establish who truly holds power. There couldn't be a more opportune moment to settle this dispute. It's alright to admit your fear, don't worry, I'll understand."

Her body language spoke volumes, revealing her anxious state, and I could empathize with her turmoil. Iris, once boasting of her unrivaled strength in the pack, started off as feeble and the weakest. However, through relentless training, self-discipline, and the consumption of various potent herbs, she had transformed herself into the formidable force she now embodied. Her entire persona revolved around this newfound strength, making the mere thought of someone snatching away the hard-earned title she fiercely protected a nightmarish reality. Yet, deep down, I couldn't deny the truth: if she were to challenge me now, she would undoubtedly fall. And, in order to shield her from such a defeat, I would rather be labeled a coward.

"Yes, I confess, fear courses through my veins," I chuckled nervously, hoping she would swallow my ruse. "Perhaps another time, when I have had the chance to train and prepare myself adequately to face you. It wouldn't be fair for you to ambush me like this. Remember, I have just emerged from an exhausting battle, and I need time to recuperate and gather my strength. I shall carefully select a suitable date for our duel." In reality, my intention was to prolong this encounter for as long as possible. Engaging in physical combat was not the sole means to reach Iris; I had devised an alternative method, one that was guaranteed to succeed. Inflicting a public defeat upon her would only shatter her ego. I sensed the immense boost my words gave to her self-esteem, as her grin stretched from one ear to the other. But, her radiant smile swiftly faded into thin air, replaced by a sudden surge of aggression. With lightning speed, she lunged towards me, aiming to deliver a powerful blow. Yet, my keen perception allowed me to anticipate her every move before she could even conceive it. Swiftly, I seized her arm and forcefully slammed her against the unyielding wall, causing a piercing cry of pain to escape her lips.

Charlotte."Charlotte, did you just see that?" Kali asked me. I was still in disbelief after what I witnessed. "That guy was fast, almost as fast as...""Don't say it," replied Iris; she wasn't happy to see someone rival her speed. The pack member was bleeding out on the ground as the Hunter stabbed him again, but this time in the knee."Haaaaa! Stoppp!" He cried as the pain swirled around his body.Taking a good look at the sword now, it wasn't ordinary iron; it had a silver glow to it. I have never seen one quite like it."Get away from him!" Another member quickly shifted and attacked the stranger, pushing him backward. In wolf form, we are approximately twice the same height as we were in human form; we gained a straight boost as well as an increase in speed. I don't think any of the members there had magic, though; it was incredibly rare among us werewolves. The wolf charged at him again; the hunter then took out som

Charlotte.I finally felt like I was part of the pack. I could finally shift, befriended my inner wolf, tapped into my magic-manifesting as a mystical fire and I used that power to defeat Iris, the toughest girl in the pack. Kali was talking to me again as well. I don't think I've ever felt this happy since leaving the Blood Moon pack. I felt like nothing could go wrong. I passed by the village, greeting all the women, and finally stopped to say hello to our guardian squirrel. "Good morning today, Squirrel. I hope all is well," I said with a grin. The furry critter, however, was more focused on staring vaguely into the forest. "What is it, do you see some nuts over there or something?" I said jokingly, but the squirrel didn't even move an inch. I was beginning to get scared and decided to tell the queen immediately. The queen had the same worry on her face that I did. For the squirrel to act this way when it didn't even flinch when Nicholas attacked was something else.

Charlotte. In the blink of an eye, a throng of spectators gathered around Iris and me, their anticipation palpable. The air crackled with excitement as they rallied behind Iris, their cheers echoing through the arena. Amongst the sea of faces, I caught a glimpse of Kali, her expression etched with anguish. But there was no time to dwell on her pain, for Iris charged towards me with an unstoppable force. Swift as a gust of wind, I effortlessly evaded her initial strike. Undeterred, she launched herself at me once more, her determination unwavering. Yet, I anticipated her every move, dancing away from her attacks with ease. However, my lack of offense seemed to irk her greatly.Abruptly, she halted, her voice laced with frustration, "Are you toying with me?"Though it may have seemed that way, my true intention was to shield her from harm. "Must we engage in this battle, Iris?" I questioned, yearning for a life of peace. Conflict was foreign to m

Charlotte.Since our last encounter, Iris made a conscious effort to avoid crossing paths with me. While this should have brought me some relief, I couldn't shake the feeling that she was plotting something. It wasn't necessarily something bad, but it was disheartening to see her training tirelessly from morning till night, day after day. As the Queen had proclaimed, nobody dared to mess with me or speak to me in a disrespectful manner they used to. Even without the Queen's intervention, rumors were spreading like wildfire that I would be the one to succeed her. Surprisingly, Kali also started to keep her distance, and I couldn't help but wonder what went wrong. Even if everyone turned their backs on me, I had expected Kali to stand by my side. However, she seemed to be the first person to create a divide between us, and it pained me. Every attempt I made to talk to her failed. She had already built a wall between us, just like the others. She even began greeting me eve

Adonis. It’s been an eternity since Nicholas ventured into the ominous Forest with my bravest soldiers, and not a single whisper of news has reached my ears. It is not Nicholas himself that concerns me, but rather the fate of the men who accompanied him. These warriors are the cream of the crop, and if they were to vanish without a trace or suffer some terrible fate, I fear I would find myself in dire straits. My attention slowly shifted from the search for Charlotte to the desperate hunt for Nicholas. Each day, I found myself consumed by thoughts of what could have gone awry, concocting countless scenarios in my mind. Could it be that these female warriors were so formidable that they overpowered Nicholas himself? The notion seemed preposterous, for these men are the epitome of strength. Yet, why is there not a single whisper of their whereabouts? What calamity has befallen them? Where is Nicholas?"Don't fret, they will be alright," Kiana's voice broke th
