{Third person's pov}

Arizona and Everett's mother were in the garden, "Arizona, I am really sorry for being straightforward and If I hurt you by any chance but I really want you to join our family, I really want you to live with us. and on top of all that I am being Selfish, the day when Everett allowed you to select an outfit for him, I saw a spark of hope. the hope to see the Everett we lost 5 years ago, he was just like everyone else cheerful and carelessness but when his girlfriend cheated on him, he became cold and private. now work is his everything and Only you can bring him back. I am sorry for being selfish. but you see dear, you are alone in this world now and I really want to be your mother too. I am lying I really do, you need a family and we will be your family. trust me we will always support you, love you , cherish you and on top of all that we will respect you. I am not pressuring you, if you don't want to marry him you can deny it. but I would be lying if I saw I will be happy by your denial. Take your time Arizona."

Arizona stared at the ground listening to her words carefully, "I want time, aunty." Arizona spoke, while looking up and Everett's mother cupped her cheek with her one hand, "Take as much time you want. I will go call someone to drop you."

"it's alright, aunty. I will take the cab." Arizona spoke just to get a stern glare from Everett's mother, "we can't risk your safety, I will go and call Everett." she said and walked inside not giving a chance to Arizona to speak.

Arizona looked at her phone and then sighed, -What is happening in my life. she groaned and stomped her feets in frustration, as she turned around she witnessed Everett standing at a distance.

she immediately stood straight and shifted her gaze towards the car, "Shall we?" Everett asked and Arizona nodded in response. they walked towards his car and he opened the door for her. she settled down on the passenger seat and he walked towards the driver's seat.

Everett started the engine and the ride was silent, Everett glanced at her and then decided to break the silence, "How have you been?"

"Good," Ishika glanced at him and then again shifted her gaze towards the window. and the car again filled with the awkward silence. as the rest of the ride was silent, the car stopped in front of the apartment she lived in.

she opened the door, "Arizona," But Everett's words made her halt. "Give me your phone," Everett asked and Arizona frowned, her face flickered with confusion and she hesitatedly forwarded her phone towards him after taking it out from her pocket.

"here, this is my number. call me up if you need help." Everett spoke and Arizona nodded. she stepped out of the car and walked upstairs towards her flat.

Everett watched her as she disappeared inside the building, he ran his hands through his hairs in frustration, - Stay cold Everett, you can't get hurt again.

he thought, starting the engine again he drove back towards his mansion.

...........

It was Sunday and Arizona was sleeping, she woke by the sound of the door bell ringing, she sighed in frustration and sat up on the bed, staring at the door she groaned and then got up from the bed, walking towards the door she opened it.

"Yes how can I help you uncle" Arizona Asked, looking at the man standing at her door.

"I am the Secretary of this Apartment and I have been getting a lot of complaints about you" said the man, his voice laced with seriousness as he spoke.

"Complaints? what kind of complaint?" Arizona asked, with confusion and curiosity lacing her face. her eyes were drowsy. she wanted to sleep more.

"A man has been coming to pick you up for some weeks and yesterday night he came to drop you what's going on, you said you live alone and you have no relatives in this town then why are men coming to drop you and pick you remember in this apartment family lives what will children learn" the man said, his voice laced with annoyance and his face flickered with a judgemental look.

"Sorry uncle that won't be repeated" Arizona said and closed the door. she lazily walked towards her bed and threw her body on it, kicking her legs up in the air because of frustration. -why god, why me. Nothing is working out.

.......

Arizona was at the reception of the café she was working at. It was Sunday so she was working for the whole day. Her phone buzzed gaining her attention and after witnessing the caller id she ignored it, But it again buzzed and she groaned in frustration before picking up the call.

"Hey Arizona!" Emily's cheerful voice came from the other side, "Hi" Arizona replied, nonchalantly.

"Where are you?" Emily asked from the other side of the phone, "At the café" Arizona replied, with the same boring tone."You are working on Sunday too" Emily asked and Arizona hummed in response.

"I wanted to meet you, okay I will come to the café only" Emily said and before Arizona could deny her she ended the call making Arizona sigh in frustration. she immediately covered her with a warm smile and welcomed the customers.

..........

Arizona and Emily were now walking on the footpath while having the ice cream after Arizona's shift at the café was over.

"Arizona!" Emily said gaining Arizona's attention and she shifted her gaze towards Emily, signalling her to speak further.

"What do you think about Everett?" Emily asked, her voice laced with curiosity and excitement as she waited for Arizona to speak.

"I haven't known him for a long time and whenever we were together we talked about nothing other than greetings, so I don't really know what i should think about him. But judging from his behaviour he seems gentle, also he has got everything a man should but again I can't judge a book by its cover" Arizona said, a small smile lacing her face as she talked about Everett, but she immediately covered it up with a blank face. but it didn't go unnoticed by her best friend Emily.

"Then say yes to this marriage proposal, Arizona I swear you won't get anyone better than Everett" Emily dreamily said, Her eyes flickered with hope as she looked at Arizona.

"Aaditri i am still young, I have dreams, I have to complete my studies and be independent" Arizona replied, but deep down she knew the real reasons was that she didn't want any more favors from the Williams.

"And do you think my family will stop you from doing this?" Emily frowned while looking at Arizona as she Spoke and Arizona didn't say anything at her words.

"Ari my family loves you from the day one they have met you and Everett is the best child of our family " Emily Said trying her best to convience her best friend, she wanted a better future for Arizona and nothing more. Arizona stayed silent as she carefully listened to what all Emily spoke.

"Say yes please...." Emily exaggerated the word please as she pleaded. "Emily how can I trust someone again?! It's not like I am saying your family is bad or something but i don't know anything about him." Arizona looked down, finding it hard to open her self to more people after she got betrayed by the people she knew from childhood. she was afraid to trust anyone now.

"If you say yes it's not like they will get you married the next day, you can take your time to know us to know Everett and you can't deny the fact that Everett is heavenly handsome " Emily spoke, coolly praising her brother's Beauty and looks. and Arizona chuckled on her words.

"Is it yes" Emily asked with excitement, as she held Arizona's arms. "I don't know, what if I don't feel comfortable with him." Arizona was hesitant as she spoke.

"Then you can change your yes into no" Emily spoke, like it was not a big deal, maybe it was actually not. it was all in Arizona's head.

"Now is it yes?" Emily asked again, her voice was laced with desperation, Arizona stayed silent trying her best to hide her flushed face. "So it is a yes" Emily happily shouted and Arizona glared at her as people gave looks to them.

"just say yes Ari," Emily request and Arizona nodded with a small smile playing on her lips. Emily happily jumped and hugged Arizona.

"I love you babe," Emily pecked Arizona's cheeks and Arizona gave her a playful stern glare. "I love you more Emily." Arizona replied.

"Uh huh save that for Everett." Emily teased making a soft chuckle to escape from Arizona's mouth.

No one here should mistake you for someone standing alone.”His thumb brushed once against the back of her hand, small, grounding. As they approached the administrative block, a few professors straightened immediately upon seeing him. Students moved aside almost instinctively.Everett didn’t slow down. The authority around him was effortless. But the moment he noticed Arizona clutching her bag tighter again, his tone softened just slightly.“Bre

{Third person's pov}Everett’s expression changed instantly. Something far more dangerous to a man like him.His eyes searched hers for a brief second, like he was making sure she truly meant it.Then, without a word, he opened his arms slightly. The invitation was enough. The moment she stepped closer, Everett’s arms wrapped around her carefully, but completely. One hand settled at the back of her head, the other around her waist, pulling her against his chest with a steadiness that felt protective rather than possessive. He was warm.Safe in a way she probably hadn’t experienced before. And Everett… held her like she was something fragile he had no intention of letting break again. His hand moved slowly through her hair once, calming, while his chin rested lightly against the top of her head.“You don’t have to earn comfort here,” he murmured. The words were low enough to vibrate against her skin.“And you don’t have to ask permission for it either.”For a long moment, he simply sto

{Third person's pov}The bathroom door was still shut, water running softly inside while Everett sat there in silence, staring at the phone resting on the nightstand. He wasn’t angry because she had a life before marriage. But something about the message, about the familiarity of it, unsettled him more than he expected. And Everett hated unexpected feelings. The bathroom door finally clicked open..Arizona stepped out, drying her damp hands slightly before pausing. Because Everett was looking at her.His fingers tapped once against the phone beside him.“Max,” he said calmly. “Who is he?”“And before you answer,” he added quietly, “I’d prefer the truth over comfort.”Arizona sighed, "Just a classmate from the college." She said and sat infront of the dressing table to dry her hair.Everett watched her through the mirror, “Classmate,” he repeated slowly, like he was testing the word against the message he had read. His gaze shifted briefly to the phone again before returning to her refl

{Third person's pov}Arizona was sitting on the couch and reading a book when Everett came back. As soon as she saw him she closed the book and looked at him, "Should I bring water?" She asked.Everett shook his head, "When are you rejoining your college?" He asked and before she could answer he added."From tomorrow, you should join your college." Arizona blinked, visibly caught off guard.“Tomorrow?” she repeated softly, almost unsure if she heard him correctly.Everett loosened his cufflinks as he walked further into the room, expression unreadable. “Yes,” he said simply. “Why not?”“You’re married, not imprisoned.” The words landed heavier than he intended. His jaw tightened slightly, like he realized something about her silence, but chose not to push yet.Instead, he placed his phone on the table and looked at her properly. “You were studying before this marriage,” he continued, voice calm, practical. “You’ll continue now too.”“As long as you want to study, you will.” Arizona s

{Third person's pov}Arizona woke up and found the bed empty, She looked at the clock and it was already nine am, she cursed under her breath and got up from the bed.She was making her way towards the bathroom when the door clicked open and she paused. There stood her husband, in nothing but just a towel around his waist, water droplets were falling from his hair and travelling all the way down to his chest and abs. She sucked a deep breath, Her heart was beating wildly, she realised she was staring at him and then she immediately turned around. "I am sorry, I didn't see anything..." Everett paused the moment he saw her. Not because of her words, but because of the way she turned so quickly, almost startled. For a second, he just stood there, water still dripping from his hair, completely unbothered… until he noticed how stiff her posture was.“I would hope so,” he said dryly, grabbing a towel from the chair and running it through his hair, tone calm as ever. “It’s your room too.”

Deliberately. When he looked up, his gaze went to her… then to the back of her dress where the corset strings were tied.A brief silence. Not awkward, measured. He stood up, setting the laptop aside, and walked toward her without a word.
