The Break up

I took a deep breath, gathering my resolve. It was time to face my parents and confront the turmoil that had engulfed our family.

With a heavy heart, I made my way back home, informing Alpha Leo through his assistant of my intention to do so.

I wanted to let him know that I needed to handle this on my own.

As I arrived at the front door, the sound of my parents' heated argument reached my ears.

Their voices echoed through the house, filled with anger and frustration. My heart sank, knowing that the tension had escalated even further during my absence.

I stepped inside, finding my parents locked in a fierce dispute. My mother's face was etched with worry, while my father's expression held a mixture of anger and disappointment.

The air in the room was thick with tension as I mustered the courage to speak.

My mother's voice rose, filled with anger and desperation. "How could you do this, Alfred? How could you push our daughter out of the house?"

My father's face hardened, his eyes filled with resentment. "She's not like us, Jane. She's a danger to our family. It's for her good."

His words cut deep, and a pang of hurt washed over me. Tears welled up in my eyes, but I refused to let them fall.

I had come here to make things right, to reassure them and say my goodbyes.

"Mother, Father," I called out, my voice quivering slightly. "I've come home to talk, to make things right."

My mother's eyes widened in surprise and relief, her voice trembling. "Sophia, my dear, where have you been? We've been so worried about you."

I glanced at my father, his gaze cold and distant. "Father, please understand that I didn't choose to be who I am. I never asked for this. But I need you to know that I'm still your daughter, and I'm still the same person inside."

His face hardened, his voice laced with bitterness. "You're a werewolf, Sophia. You're a danger to our family and everything we've built. I won't have you tarnishing our name."

I felt a pang of sadness, but I refused to let it break me. I had discovered strength within myself, and I wouldn't back down. I had to make them understand.

"Dad, I understand your fears," I said, my voice steady. "But I can't change who I am. I am a werewolf, but I am also your daughter. I love you, and I wish you could find it in your heart to accept me."

Silence filled the room, the weight of my words hanging in the air. My mother's eyes welled up with tears, her voice filled with a mix of love and pain. "Oh, Sophia, we love you too. But your father is scared. He doesn't understand."

I could see the internal struggle within her, torn between her love for me and her loyalty to my father. I reached out and took her hand, squeezing it gently.

"Mum, I appreciate your love and support. But I need to find my way, to understand who I am. Please don't be afraid. I will come back when I'm ready."

My father's face hardened even further, his eyes cold and distant. "You're not welcome here, Sophia. If you choose to leave, don't bother coming back."

His words stung, and tears streamed down my face. But I stood tall, refusing to let his rejection define me. With a heavy heart, I released my mother's hand and turned away.

"I understand, Father," I said, my voice filled with both sadness and determination. "I will respect your wishes. But know that I will always love you, no matter what."

Without looking back, I left my childhood home behind, carrying a heavy burden of both sorrow and hope. It was time for me to embark on my journey, discover my true path and confront the challenges that lay ahead.

As I walked away, a sense of determination washed over me. I would find a way to reconcile my identity with the world around me.

As I walked along the familiar path back to Alpha Leo's pack, a mix of emotions swirled within me. I had intentionally avoided encountering Kelvin, my human boyfriend, during my absence.

I believed it was best for him to know nothing and move on, forgetting about me. But fate had other plans in store.

As I rounded a corner, I came face to face with Kelvin, standing there with a worried expression etched on his face. His eyes widened in surprise as he took in my dishevelled appearance and the bags in my hands.

"Sophia?" he called out, his voice filled with both relief and confusion. "Where have you been? I've been searching for you for days. I went to your house and school, but you were nowhere to be found. What's going on?"

My heart ached at the sight of him, his genuine concern was evident in his eyes. I knew I couldn't keep hiding the truth any longer, even though it meant breaking his heart.

"Kelvin," I said, my voice tinged with sadness. "We can't continue with our relationship. We're not the same."

Confusion clouded his features as he tried to comprehend my words. "What do you mean, Sophia? I don't care about who or what you are. I love you, and that's all that matters."

A single tear escaped my eye as I mustered the strength to explain. "Kelvin, it's not about you accepting me. It's about the danger I pose to those I care about. I can't put you in harm's way. It's better if we part ways."

Kelvin's eyes welled up with tears, his voice trembling. "Sophia, love doesn't work that way. I don't care about the danger. I care about you. We can find a way to make it work, to face whatever challenges come our way together."

His words tugged at my heart, but I knew deep down that it was for the best. I couldn't risk his safety, and I couldn't bear the thought of him getting hurt because of me.

"Kelvin, you deserve a normal life," I said, my voice filled with sorrow. "A life without constant fear and uncertainty. I can't give you that. It's time for both of us to move on."

With those words, I turned away, my footsteps heavy with the weight of my decision. I knew it would hurt him, just as it was breaking me apart inside. But it was a sacrifice I had to make.

Behind me, I heard Kelvin's voice crack with emotion. "Sophia, please, don't do this. I love you."
