The silver lining

MIRANDA’S POV

I woke up at dawn and I was cold even though I had a jacket on, I couldn’t tell where I was because it was all dark and the trees that surrounded me were thick. The last thing I remembered was Tomas kicking me on the stomach. I was still weak and in pain from the attack but I knew if I had any hope of surviving I had to get out of there. I tried standing up but my feet were too weak to carry me.

I had to be strong, I had wanted to get out and be free from Tomas for so long so I had to appreciate that I was finally free. Even though that freedom had come at the price of me losing my pup. I hated Tomas for that not only did he fail to protect me but he also failed to protect his own pup. I was never going to go back to that town again and if I ever went back it was going to be for revenge against Tomas and his witch.
