A myth

Miranda’s POV

“Oh it’s nothing,” I said and my tears immediately sold me out as they started welling up in my eyes.

“That can’t be nothing honey, and the way I found you it was like you had just escaped a horrible encounter,” she said brushing the bruises on my face and wiping the tears that had escaped my eyes and forming a waterfall on my face.

Whatever my response to her probing questions was going to be I had to keep in mind that she was human and she wouldn’t understand anything about wolves and mates. If she did know anything about my world it would only be an unconfirmed and a myth.

“It was my fiancé,” I said, this was the only lie that was close to the truth that I could think of

“He was very abusive and he used to beat me, he didn’t really want me, and he cheated on me and abused me in front of her and he probably thinks I am dead because after he attacked me with his girlfriend they dumped me in the forest and that is the reason I didn't want you to call the cops,” I said so
