Roman POV:

I had just settled into my routine for the day when the door to my office flew open with a loud bang, completely destroying the silence that I'd been grateful for.

Angry, I looked up to see Graham and a few elders standing at the entrance, seemingly unfazed at the fact that they'd just barged into their Alpha's office.

“What the hell is going on?” I snapped, slamming my pen on the desk. Two of them flinched, but Graham's face remained resolute, the old piece of shit.

If he did something to warrant my anger, I would toss him and his band of merry men into the prison on account of treason.

"Alpha Roman," Graham's voice boomed, much louder than normal. It was obvious he was trying to make a statement among his peers. "We demand an explanation.”

I folded my arms and leaned back. Interesting. What’s the explanation about?”

He glared at me, and I was taken aback by how unfazed he was in my presence. The level of confidence was astounding. “We’ve heard disturbing reports abou

Roman POV: Marvin coughed, blood dribbling down the side of his mouth, while I held the neck of the knife that was a moment away from being buried in my abdomen. “You lucky bastard,” he coughed, his hold on the knife weakening. I quickly swiped it and tossed it to the side, far away from his immediate reach, and punched him. “That's enough audacity for a day,” I said, massaging my knuckles. He snarled. “Says the person who has the most audacity of all.” I shrugged, oddly feeling smug about the fact that I was the one annoying him for once. “What can I say? I'm an Alpha.” He scowled and attempted to hit me, but missed. I punched him again in the gut, hard. “Stay down, piece of shit.” “Fuck you,” he growled, glaring at me. “Whatever.” I rolled my eyes, then frowned, thinking about the other reason why I was here. “Now, tell me. Where's Audrey?” He stared blankly at me for a few seconds before laughing as long as he could without choking on his own fluid, then gave me a l

Roman POV: I narrowed my eyes. “And what the hell is that supposed to mean?” Marvin picked the glass of wine and swirled the liquid around, then turned to me. “You're like this wine, Roman. Tossed and turned from place to place by our father, without realizing it. You try so hard to tear yourself from his grip, but you don't know that he's got you right where he wants.” “What do you-” I froze as said glass of wine was hurled in my direction, and growled when it whizzed past me, hitting the wall and shattering. “You're fucked up.” Marvin stood slowly, eyes trained on me as he did so. “Tanya, you should leave,” he said in a low tone, keeping his gaze on me as she scampered away. “I'm not the one that's fucked up, Roman. It's you.” I scoffed. “Please. You sent your mate after me to rope me into your schemes, and now I find out you've had your eye on the position of Alpha for a long time.” “I told you. Because it's my right,” he snapped. “I'm older and was far more eligible for

  • Fated To My Sister's Mate   Chapter 159

Roman POV: I was at the gate with the other soldiers, tearing flesh and crunching the bones of the mutants, purple blood splattered all over my clothes. They'd come in torrents, like clouds gathering for rain, and I was grateful that I'd heeded Lance's warning, else the casualties would have been far more than they currently were. I couldn't imagine how it would have been if the pack members were not underground. I would have had to- Something sliced my arm and I gritted my teeth, punching a hole through the assailant's chest and pulling out its heart. I'd gotten distracted. How terrible. We were reducing in numbers, but they weren't, and the thought vexed me to no end. “Alpha!” someone yelled in my mind. “The defense at the south border is down! We need reinforcements!” I surveyed the situation before me. Men were dropping to the floor, dead, and our numbers were reducing like crazy. “Julian, have we got any extra guards around?!” My Beta, who was fighting alongside me wit

Audrey POV: Alarm bells blared in my head after he'd spoken, but Selena looked so uncomfortable with his presence, I couldn't bring myself to care about the circumstances and consequences of my actions. Mentally bracing myself for the worst, I took up a courageous stance and frowned at him. "It'd do you well to go away from here," I snarled. "While I'm still asking nicely." He lifted his brow at that, slowly surveying my figure, before smiling evilly. "How cute.” Selena stepped forward then. "That's enough Damon. I can accept you walking all over me: but you do not have the right to insult my friends." Our interaction was attracting attention. He glanced at her, his lips stretched in a thin line as he noticed the angered stance Selena had taken up. “Darling, stop being so stubborn. Just be with me. Accept what I'm offering.” She scowled. “Over my dead body.” When she said that, Damon's eyes narrowed, irritation and something like amusement flowing off him in waves. “You sure

  • Fated To My Sister's Mate   Chapter 157

Audrey POV: “Apparently, more humans have gone missing,” some guy sitting behind us said, sighing deeply. “And no one knows who might be the culprit.” Selena and I were sitting in a small, cozy cafe, surrounded by the aroma of coffee and pastries. I had just finished an exhausting shift at the restaurant, same as her, so we decided to stop at a shop before leaving for home. We hadn't been able to speak properly since I started working and our shifts differed, so it was the best time to have a chat. "So," Selena said, her voice soft, taking my mind off what the man had said. "How was your first week? Was it as scary as you thought it was going to be?" She smiled easily. “Did you see anyone you liked?” I laughed lightly. "Please, Selena. And no, I didn’t see anyone I liked. It was really tough. But Kady helped me- she's one of the other employees. She was so kind.” Her eyebrows rose. "Kady? The emo girl who never speaks? She helped you?" I nodded. "She never speaks? She saved m

  • Fated To My Sister's Mate   Chapter 156

Roman POV:“Everyone else is underground now, and Elder Charlotte has been put in charge,” Julian reported, deliberately skimming over any news of Audrey. I nodded at him, then focused on the laptop before me. After the fiasco with the elders and my not-so-pleasant discussion with Jacob, I called Marvin up for a chat. The fool had the audacity to tell me that he wouldn't be coming, and wished me luck in finding a way to stop whatever was coming our way, as he was the brains behind it all. Heeding Lance's warning, I had the pack compound evacuated immediately, leaving only the soldiers and members of the Guard above ground. But I knew Marvin well enough to be sure that he wasn't working alone. Yes, he had a lot of smart ideas, and he was an evil genius, but he was still just one person. I kept thinking over everyone around, wondering who could be affiliated with him. Just then, a knock came over the office door. Julian and I exchanged glances, before I sighed and indicated that the
