Chapter 77

I'm awakened by Damien's loud and disturbed voice. He was standing in the middle of the room, hurriedly putting on a shirt. I groaned, letting out a yawn and sat up on the bed while he spoke with someone through the mind link.

"What is it?" I asked, holding the duvet over my chest, realising we were in his room already.

"We got an attack last night." He replied hurriedly as he sat on the bed to put on his shoes.

"What?"

"Yes," He turned around to face me before adding. "All the victims died."

I leaned back against the headboard, placing my palm over my mouth. How could that- I was utterly speechless.

"I have to go now." He left the room in a hurry, not even waiting to see if I had something to say or wanted to follow him. Anyways, I climbed down the bed gently, tightly holding the duvet around my chest since I was naked underneath it.
