I would never have done it without Daphne. I would never have had the guts to push the blade into his back!

When the Lycans fell through the door, I had hit Daphne with my foot. Her eyes flashed open immediately. She had been pretending to be out of it too. She grabbed the blade, slicing through the rope that was binding my hands.

As I rip off the gag, I feel a movement in my belly. Nothing bad, just a sign that the pup was strong. Thank fuck for that.

Daphne yanked me to my feet as she rubbed her own stomach. Together we listened to the chants. The ones shouting ‘traitor’ over and over. But I knew it wasn’t aimed at me.

“Colt wanted me to have the blade.” I muttered as we clung to each other.

“Protection?” She mumbles back, wiping tears from her dark eyes and pushing the blade into my hands.

I had shrugged my shoulders because I was still confused by what was happening. The last thing I remembered was being in the dungeon and seeing what Snare was doing.
