FATHER PLEASE.
I decided I wanted him the moment I laid my eyes on him, there was something about the way his both hands gripped the sides of the chalice, that could easily be my waist, he could dip and touch me anywhere with those hands, my fingers tracing his thick veins that entwined on his even thicker arms. But great Aunt Cheryl was staring intently at me, waiting, i am thoroughly confused as to what she wants me to do, until she shuts her eyes, ah! That's what I am supposed to do then, i tell myself as I shut my eyes to please her. In my mind's eye, the beautiful man with ash blond hair and brown eyes tucked a wisp of stray hair behind my ears. The simple skin contact causes my spine to straighten. My great Aunt Cheryl nudges me with her shoulder and with that, beautiful man disappears, i suppress an irritated sigh, I’m starting to see the reasons she was cut off from the family. When my eyes drop to hers, I see she is pointing at her hymn book and then to the one in front of me. I give her a grateful smile, that I hope didn’t look as fake as it was. Once I was certain her gaze was averted, my eyes roam the front of the church, but the beautiful man I had seen earlier had disappeared. Now, wasn’t that just disappointing? Lucky for me, since my great Aunt has asked me to wait until mass is over for today, she can introduce me to everyone. Let’s cross our fingers that our beautiful man is among the people I’ll be introduced to. “Melanie Rose, come with me, there are more than a few people who would want to meet you.” She says to me immediately the mass was over. Only Great aunt Cheryl calls everyone by their full name these days. “I don't know why they want to meet with me, I don’t want to meet with me.” She pulls me by the crook of my elbow, my legs are following after her as we zig zag through the crowd and the seats, but my eyes are scanning the receding crowd for beautiful man. No luck finding him.“Melanie Rose!”I roll my eyes. She had given me a lecture about self sabotage talk as she picked me up from the airport last night, simply because I made a joke about the airplane not crashing whilst I was on it. “Cheryl!” a sickeningly sweet voice calls out, drawing her attention from me.“Oh, Mary dear, meet my great niece, Melanie Rose Patterson.” I put on a smile that matched Mary's, syrupy and overly sweet.“Wonderful, I’m glad to have you in our midst today. Welcome to Ashburn, I’m certain you’ll love it here. My name is Mary Gardener.” I peg Mary as an open book, she looks exactly how she is. And like my great aunt Cheryl, Mary is in a habit, she is also a nun. “I am excited to be here..” a big lie.“I know we will get along just fine.” Another big lie, I usually run the opposite direction from nuns. “Mary waited outside my door for you last night, imagine her disappointment when she heard you preferred to stay at a hotel.” Great aunt Cheryl says this like I sinned by staying at a hotel. But you would too if she asked you to stay in the dorm with her and all the other nuns, yeah no. “Mary, Cheryl, hogging the child to yourself I see.” A newcomer says, joining the group. A kid trailing behind her, his nose buried in his iPad. She looks relatively younger than my aunt who is almost seventy. “Hi, I’m Hannah.”“Father Bernard has asked to see both of you.” She tells my aunt and Mary. They mumble that they’d be right back before rushing away. I feel much better now that they’ve gone. “You are the niece Cheryl is always talking about.”She could have been talking about my older lawyer sister, nobody is ever talking about me to their friends, certainly not to their nun friends. “Great niece.” I correct automatically.Hannah blinks, as if I insulted her by correcting her. Her nose twitches upward. “I heard about what happened to you, it's sad. Losing your entire family in a day. That must be troubling.” Now my temper flares, she didn’t say it in a way that says she is horrified by the situation, she says this like she was rubbing it in my face that her family is complete. “Actually, what’s troubling is your kid, he is yours right?”She instinctively steps in front of him. “I had him before I became a nun. Before the Lord saved me.”“Oh, I don’t care about that trust me. But what is troubling is what your son is watching on his iPad. I saw it and asked the Lord for mercy.” I throw on an exaggerated horrified look. She cast a wary glance at her son and his iPad, and back at me.“The Lord who saved you, can save him. I believe.” I say as dramatically as I can. She hurries away with her son pulled along behind him. “That was awesome, do it again.” I hear someone say behind me.I mentally curse. I came here for a fresh start and was already back in my old ways, and there is even a witness. “Danny. Your Sister Cheryl’s great niece right?”I turn to the owner of the voice, a girl who looked my age, her lips that were painted the same black colour as her outfit smirked at me. I gave her my syrupy smile.“Melanie Rose Patterson. Nice to meet you, I’m excited to be in this wonderful town.” She snorts.“Drop the act. Nobody is half that excited to be here.”My smile drops and I realize it hurt to smile that wide. “I might not be excited, but I’m glad to have somewhere to be.”She nods like she understands. She doesn't, nobody does. I spot beautiful man walk past us in a breeze. I feel my body thrum with excitement. I guess I am excited to be here.“Who is that?”Danny follows my line of sight and snorts again. Might be her favourite thing. “That’s the new priest. Well he is in training, so not quite the priest yet. Father Aryan Geller.” Somehow that made me want him even more.I guess that’s it then, I think getting him into my bed will prove to be even more difficult, he is a priest after all. But there is nothing I like more than a good challenge.LOOK AT ME 1; First thing you need to do before embarking on a challenge as tough as trying to bed your priest, is to gather information, find out as much as you can about him, I’m not trying to hop into a stranger's bed, what do you think I am? Anyway, discretion cannot be overemphasized. Which is why I’m here this Monday morning, bright and early, even earlier than Aunt Cheryl who invited me here in the first place. “You are here early.” The owner of the chirpy voice is a girl who looked my age but was in a habit. Halloween maybe? Nope, too far away for that. “And you’re even earlier, isn’t it too soon to be pulling out Halloween costumes?” The girl laughs and it sounds like harps playing, I swear to you.“Don't you think wearing my uniform for Halloween would be missing the point?” My brows jump into my hair. I never thought...“My aunt would be mad at me if I wasn’t early.” She nods knowingly, the smile never leaving her face. “Sister Cheryl is almost obs
LOOK AT ME 2 I was blinded by desire, no, I literally was. Father Aryan had shown up dressed in the tightest T Shirts ever made, it was at least two sizes too small for those arms. “If you stare any longer you’ll pop holes on him.” Danny whispers as she brushed past me, a box in hand. “I have to pray today, bless the child that threw up on his cassock and whoever made that t shirt.” I murmured to myself as I lift the tiniest of the boxes from the trunk of the bus we arrived in. “One would think you’d be smart enough to lift the heaviest box so Father muscles would offer to help you.” I don’t know where Danny keeps materializing from, but she was right. I dump the tiny box in her outstretched hands and return to the trunk, I select the heaviest box, and it was heavier than I anticipated, I curse under my breath as the weight pulled me closer to the ground. “What the hell is in this thing?”“Dumbbells, I assume.”His voice startles me so much, I take double steps backw
LOOK AT ME 3; I widen my stance and squared my shoulders. “I don’t know, you tell me, what did I say?” When you’ve lived with red heads all your life, and you yourself are one, you either become addicted to nonchalance, or become a permanently angry person. “What is this I’m hearing about you wanting to rent a place for yourself?” That’s what she heard? Phew, that was a close one. Father Aryan hadn’t tattled. “Where did you hear this?”“From the nuns in there, is it true?” I didn’t tell anyone any thing, Danny gives me a small nod, she was the one talking. “I can’t stay at the hotel long term.” “Melanie Rose! We have spaces back at the dorm, Danielle stays there with us. We have loads of fun, don’t we Danielle?” We both turn to find Danny gone, she had sneaked out of the conversation. “It’s good Danny has loads of fun at the convent house, but I won't.” “It is a dormitory where we stay together and pray together as a family.” “And right now the last
LOOK AT ME 4 He put up a good fight, that much I’d admit. He meant the no he said and was going to stand on business, but even he couldn’t stand the questioning gazes from the nuns, all except my great aunt, and he finally caved. And three days later, I had moved in and was settled. I saw it for the first time when I moved in, a one bedroom, I had neighbours who also rented from Father Aryan. “Are you sure you like the place? I’m certain there are others more suited to your taste.” He sounded desperate as he tried to get me away from his place. I nodded enthusiastically, I didn’t like the place at all. “I love it. I can tell nausea green is your favourite colour.” He sighed, “Why are you doing this? You clearly hate the house. You can rent somewhere else.” I cross my arms around my chest. His eyes are drawn to my chest, I see his tongue dart out and wets his lips for a second before he reminds himself who he is supposed to be and looks up, there is a tri
LOOK AT ME 5 I take a non threatening step towards him, and because he is a guilty person, he does what guilty people usually do, he shrinks into himself. “Again, how do you know about LonelyFans?” “Why haven’t you gotten the locks changed yet? Anybody could have walked in.” Changing the subject, another sign of guilt, he doesn’t want to say, I just have to let him be, for now. “And none of them would have walked straight into a single woman's bedroom.” He had the caught in a headlights look. “I called your name severally, and I heard.. I heard sounds..” My brows crinkle in thought, he heard my moans, my brows fly into my hair in realization. “You thought I was banging the handyman?!” He turned slightly red as I was right on the mark. “I thought I made it clear enough that it is you I wanted. You don’t have to be jealous.” He clears his throat nosily and takes a step backwards. “I’ll go check the lights..” “Yeah, you do that.” I follow him as he locates the sw
LOOK AT ME 6 I am a liar, an unapologetic one, and quite frankly it’s his fault for believing me, I was definitely going to use the information to my advantage. So when I show up for one of the bi weekly services, a huge grin on my face, he looks ready to excuse himself from my presence. “What did you do to him?” Danny asks, saddling up to me.“Nothing yet.” And for once that is true, I have done nothing yet. Although my plans for him are deliciously evil. “You and I ought to discuss after this.” I shrug, my eyes on my prey. In his cassock he looked even more sexy, I can see why my viewer count jumped so much, he was absolutely good looking. He moved behind a dark curtain and disappeared from view, letting Father Bernard continue alone. “Where did he go?”“To pray for the people.”“But the people are right here.”Danny snorts, “It’s just a thing.”I haven’t been to a church since I was little, that was the last time great aunt Cheryl came to visit, and it was the
LOOK AT ME 7The door swung open and I automatically fall to my knees, dragging my shawl back and wrapping it tightly around me, he rises to his feet, his palms pressed together as a sign of prayer. I smile to myself but keep my eyes shut. “...Amen.” He says audibly. That was my cue to rise to my feet, he gives me an outstretched hand to help me up, I make sure to look into his brown orbs as the sparks of electricity flew from our skin contact. With the way he avoided my eyes, I’d say he felt the same. “Father Aryan, I’m sorry for distracting your prayer session.” I turn towards the nun i heard of but never seen, Danny's foster mother and the last five nuns in this town, Veronica. Aryan gives her an easy smile and walks to her, he bends her eye level as she sat on the wheelchair. “You came at the right time, it has just ended. I’ll take it from here Danny.” He says exchanging spots with Danny who had wheeled her in. “Now I’m worried my mom will never be okay seeing as
LOOK AT ME 8“That isn’t right..” i mutter to myself, this was the exact thing i have been saying for longer than I’d expect. I said it when Danny sprung up on me at the mart when I finally did my grocery shopping. She had asked me again if she could move in and be my roommate. “That isn’t right..” I had said when she used the ‘I helped you get Father Aryan card.’“I don’t have him yet. Even if I did, it’s a one bedroom, no space for you.” I plugged in my headphones to drown her voice as I finished everything and went home. “That isn’t right.” Was also something I said when I realized I had no car and the small town barely had any cabs running around, I needed to get myself a car. The latest one was said purely because my viewer count dropped. It was hovering somewhere above the twenty million, and then for the past three days it’s been pummelling fast. I thought it was a glitch, but every time I went live, it would start with twelve million and end with eight thousand or
