Chapter 4

Sienna felt a throbbing ache in her heart.

She had been focusing wholeheartedly on Adrian over the past two years without paying much attention to detail, and that was the only reason why she'd fallen so hopelessly into his trap.

"Don't hide things from me, Rach," she said.

So, Rachel told her everything she knew.

Four years ago, when Adrian was 23 years old, he had caught sight of Winona at a motorcycle grand prix and fallen in love with her at first sight. He literally turned the entire Wharf Bay upside down trying to locate her.

Back then, Winona had only been 19 years old, and she had been studying at a college in Wharf Bay.

Adrian, who had already been a prideful, haughty person, seriously pursued Winona for two years. He had even prepared a very grand proposal for her on the beach, also filling his yacht with fresh pink roses air-flown straight from Fraynce.

He also spent tens of millions of dollars putting on a massive fireworks show for three hours.

Everyone thought that Adrian would finally get the woman of his dreams to say yes. However, Winona had harshly rejected him, swearing that she would never fall in love with him and telling him to forget about her and stop bothering her.

She even said that she would rather go out with a dog than date Adrian.

The only reason she had kept in contact with him over the past two years was to embarrass and humiliate him today and seek revenge on the Humphreys for embarrassing the Coltons many years ago.

Ever since then, Adrian seemed to have changed his personality altogether. He swapped out his girlfriends more often than he changed his clothes.

Meanwhile, Winona returned to Brooksdale after graduating from college in Wharf Bay and started working in Colton Group. And thus, the rivalry between Colton Group and Humphrey Group only grew even more bitter than before.

Sienna knew that Winona had always been a fan of racing bikes. Winona had actually won many trophies from open tournaments in the past. However, she never lost herself in them, and she wasn't obsessed with them either.

She always knew that she would return to inherit Colton Group from the family after graduation, so she only treated racing bikes as her hobby. Also, the other reason why she kept turning up at the motorcycle grand prix was that she was simply expanding her network with the other affluent families at the race track for the sake of the company's future.

The Coltons only had two daughters—Winona and Sienna. Winona had been strictly raised as the future heiress of the company, and their parents held very high hopes and expectations for her.

Meanwhile, Sienna was the baby of the family. She was very soft and endearing, and her family often babied her and spoiled her rotten.

Once, to get closer to Adrian, Sienna secretly took Winona's bike to the tracks and actually won in a tournament against him.

Winona had flown into a huge temper after finding out and gave Sienna a good scolding afterward. She didn't think that Sienna should ever have dipped her toe into racing motorcycle sports. After all, it was a very dangerous sport to start with, and the people involved in it were mostly from gray areas of the law.

Sienna was too innocent and naive for a place like that. Winona thought that it was just too easy for Sienna to end up with the short end of the stick.

After that, Sienna stopped riding racing bikes because she didn't want Winona to get mad at her anymore.

Sienna pressed her lips together. "How did you know about all these?"

"You know my ex-boyfriend—I mean, my ex, ex, ex-boyfriend—from years ago? He was in Adrian's social group, and I heard everything from him. Winona had always been Adrian's unrequited love, and even after she rejected him, he still wasn't able to forget her that easily."

Sienna gripped her phone harder until the phone case dug painfully into her palm.

Winona was beautiful and charismatic. She was ruthless and decisive in making business decisions, and she stood out among many other female entrepreneurs. Countless business tycoons and corporations would trip over themselves trying to conquer her.

Indeed, Winona was someone worthy of being Adrian's first love.

Sienna fell silent.

Rachel then continued and said, "That's why I told you that you don't have to worry about a thing as long as Winona is around. You just need to carry on being your pure, innocent self and leave all the dirty work to her."

"Okay. I get it."

They chatted about some other things after that before finally hanging up.

It was already very late. Sienna lay in bed, scrolling on Instagram on her phone, when she suddenly came across an Instagram story posted by the account she'd just followed back that morning—someone named Fiona.

"It's his birthday today. I should be the one giving him a gift, but he ended up giving me one instead. I'm so lucky to have him. Sweet dreams, my love."

The image in the story was a photo of a man's hand sliding a pink diamond ring onto a woman's ring finger.

Sienna held out her own hand and looked at the similar pink diamond ring on her own finger. It was an exact replica of the ring in Fiona's story.

Adrian had told his men to deliver it to her at college earlier in the afternoon. It was a 9.99-carat, pure pink diamond ring with 100% clarity, the latest design from the famous jewelry brand Larovski. It was such a limited design that only a single unit was allocated to their main outlet branches in each city.

Sienna took off the ring and carelessly threw it onto the bedside table.

She then tapped into Fiona's Instagram stories and found herself in the highlighted stories.

Sienna froze.

They also had the exact same brand and design of luxury bags, shoes, earrings, bracelets, and more.

Sienna had always treasured every gift Adrian bought for her. She loved them so much that she could clearly remember the date when he'd bought every one of them and gifted them to her.

They corresponded exactly with the posted dates on Fiona's stories.

The Maserati that she drove had been gifted to her the day after she first had sex with Adrian. She realized that Fiona had also received the exact same Maserati on the same day.

Curious, Sienna finally tried enlarging the profile photo displayed on Fiona's Instagram account. When she finally saw the enlarged photo, she closed her eyes in defeat.

Fiona looked even more like Winona than Sienna ever did, and Sienna was Winona's own sister!

Even their names were somewhat similar-sounding.

It also finally dawned on Sienna that all of the other women who had scandals with Adrian in the past also looked remotely similar to Winona—including herself.

Yet, Fiona looked the most like Winona.

No wonder Adrian married her.

Adrian would never be able to marry Winona for as long as he was alive. However, if he really were to marry, he would still marry someone who looked the most like Winona.

Meanwhile, Sienna realized that she didn't seem worthy enough anymore.

They had been in a relationship for two years—or rather, she had been in a one-sided relationship with him for two years. She'd given him her heart, soul, and body. Yet, in the end, she still lost out to other people.

Sienna bit on her lip so hard that it began to bleed.

She forced herself to suppress her emotions and refused to allow her tears to stream down.

Adrian didn't deserve any of her tears at all.

The morning sun the next day was warm and golden.

Sienna contacted the local luxury resale store as soon as she got up and packed up every gift she had ever received from Adrian before selling them all to the shop, including the Maserati.

She sold everything for 50 million dollars.

Over the past two years she'd spent with him, he had showered her with gifts worth more than 100 million dollars, and that wasn't even including Serracotta.

Anyone would probably think that he was deeply and madly in love with her.

However, Sienna suddenly realized that Adrian had never once said the word "love" to her. Also, he had spent a great fortune on her, merely to wait six weeks and then destroy her.

After the luxury resale store took in all the items she sold to them, the walk-in wardrobe was suddenly left very empty and bare.

Sienna stood in the middle of the room, spacing out.

Suddenly, a familiar pair of arms slinked around her waist from the back, drawing her back into a warm embrace smelling of sweet cedar that tickled her nostrils.

She'd been spacing out for such a long time that she never even heard Adrian's footsteps behind her.

"Anna," Adrian said, gently calling Sienna's nickname as he nuzzled her neck with his chin. "I missed you."

He'd probably only just gotten up from Fiona's bed that morning.

Sienna forced back the bile that rose in her throat and removed Adrian's arms from around her waist. She then turned around and found herself staring into Adrian's dark eyes.

There was a cold glimmer in Sienna's eyes that appeared for a second before vanishing. Adrian narrowed his eyes at her before looking around the walk-in wardrobe.

Nearly everything was emptied out. Just a few miscellaneous items were lying about in random spots.

Adrian cocked an eyebrow and asked, "What happened to the things in your room?"

Sienna's voice was gentle as she answered, "I suddenly didn't like any of them anymore and sold them all to the resale store. Oh, but some of them were gifts from you. Are you going to get mad at me?"

Adrian's thin lips tensed briefly. Soon after, a small smile replaced it as he said, "Why would I get mad? If you don't like it anymore, Anna, I'll buy more for you again."

He then suddenly lifted her in the air like he was carrying a child and smacked his hand against her butt before pinching it hard.

Then, he looked at her with deep lust in his eyes, saying hoarsely, "We slept separately last night. I missed you so much…"
