R-18 was busy working on the new project, assigned to him by his master when his mate S-15 mind-linked.

R-18 frantically tapped some buttons to pull out the footage. He saw Sia sitting on the floor in the workroom.

She got up and scrambled down but stumbled. She felt panic rise within her when she saw him coming towards her. She raised her hands and yelled, “Don’t come near me….. Please stay away.”Funnily enough, she felt like hurt flashed through his eyes. Her mind was playing tricks on her again.

Sia looked around the room curiously. It was so different from the white room she had been earlier. She was tempted to try her imagination in this room too. She imagined a calendar and a clock with full precision but nothing happened. She tried imagining hundreds of other things but nothing appeared on the wall. She ran her hands over the wall to find that it was made of stone. She smacked her head and muttered, “This place seems to have messed with my brain. Maybe I will continue like this even after I return home…..home.” She laughed drily at that thought. She wondered if those four walls could be called home.

R-18’s heart was beating so fast that he was scared it would give him away. Their master tapped a button and the screen illuminated. R was seen walking into the master’s chambers.

A searing pain shot through Sia. She felt like her heart was being crushed under huge boulders. She had to thrust her fist into her mouth to muffle the sobs that threatened to escape. They had killed her uncle, her guardian, her life! She felt like the air had left her lungs. Wait, how did everything turn black? How did uncle vanish suddenly? It was then she realized that she had been staring at a video all this while. It had seemed so real. She hadn’t even recovered from this shock when she was suddenly thrown against the wall by an invisible force.

Sia woke up groggily. She felt that something was off. You know that feeling we get as if the landscape has changed on us. She couldn’t put a finger on why she was feeling so weird.She yawned and stretched her arms. The strong rays of the sun had already streamed in through the open window. “When did I leave the window open.” She muttered as she got up. Then it dawned on her. Wasn’t she waiting for Sam to come to the Viper’s rock? She had been so delighted when he came. She managed to tell him her story with great difficulty.“But, what reply did he give?” She wondered scratching her head. She couldn’t remember his response. Oh! Yeah….She had fainted.She looked around her room and muttered, “ How did I reach here?” She recalled that someone held her when she fainted. It must have been Sam. A wide smile spread on her lips. Still, she had to confirm it with Sam. She felt a hammering sensation in her head. She decided to make some coffee first. She went to open her door to get milk.
