ARADIA POV

Maybe he was fattening me to be butchered, when I would be juicy enough to be savoured. Unreasonable thought, but not entirely stupid when I'm in a werewolf pack.

I looked around the room for anyone wanting to jump on me or if this was a slaughtering room, because there's absolutely no way he bought me for such a ridiculously high amount to let me live the life of a Lady. In his pack. As a human.

Finding nothing, I walked toward the bed, clutching my dress like my life depended on it.

My heart pounded as I stood there, unsure whether to sit or keep standing, waiting for someone to wake me from this unbelievable dream.

The door sprang open and I jumped, my hands shivering as I turned to see Alpha Xior’s sister Lyra leaning on the door, her free hand turning the lock into place and I swallowed with fear blurring my sight and my throat tightened.

I almost passed out when I saw some tricklings of blood on the hem of her dress.

ā€œWho are you?" She asked, her voice calm as her eyes stared deep into mine as though she was trying to search for the contents of my soul.

I stared back at her not knowing what to say next to avoid pissing her off and losing my head.

"Wait, scared of me? Are humans really this weak? That's really pathetic though. But I'm not snapping you into two like Peter Hale did to his niece in teen wolf if we aren't fighting.

And I want to believe you are smart enough not to start a fight with me,ā€ she said, smiling as she strutted towards and fell on it carelessly.

"Still won't say anything? Well…how did you manage to convince him to buy you and still keep you? Who are you?" She asked, the merry tone leaving her voice as she stared at me with her face expressionless.

ā€œI did nothing, I don't know why he's being nice to me. But I think he's fattening me so y'all can eat me at some feast," I clasped my hand over my mouth when I realized that I had spilled out my intrusive thoughts.

Her laughter rang through the room and I watched her wondering what was so amusing for her to break her perfect princess posture.

" He's back. Don't trigger him by being unnecessarily stupid, because I wouldn't hesitate to dive this knife into your knife and twirl it. Goodnightā€ she said from behind me, her aura completely switching from sweet to overly protective.

With that she walked out the room not bothering to give me a last glance.

I rushed to the bed panting, her perfume still lingered in the air mixed with a familiar smell.

I snapped my head to the door and a dark skinned gaurd was standing at the door with Emily trying to find her way around. Tears immediately formed in my eyes as I rushed for her, he had brought her.

ā€œThank you so much for bringing her back….ā€ I stopped between my words as he left without acknowledging me.

ā€œSister. Where have you been?" Emily asked, her hands all over my place as she was feeling all over to be certain it was me.

"I'm so sorry I left you. I had sold myself so you could get your sight back, I was planning on coming back. I'm so happy I got you back.ā€

Emily was crying as I held her tightly in an embrace.

ā€œHe said….you…y….you went looking for some moo..n..ney, he had called you a w… who….hore. I thought you left me when you didn't come back for days,ā€ she rambled, her body quivering with fear and pain.

That fucking greedy old man.

ā€œThat's not true, you know I would never leave you. I would never. I'm so sorry," I cried, holding her even tighter as I couldn't stop my own tears now knowing my efforts would have been in vain if I hadn't been bought by him.

"Hate to interrupt but the alpha needs you in his room in the next one hour. You should get changed,ā€ A guard said, his head bowed low.

ā€œWho's this sister? Are they coming to take us? Is it the nice man that brought me to see you? I need to say thank you," Emily asked, reaching around.

I smiled, I was hoping when next we meet she would be able to see me, and most importantly surrounding.

"You can't meet him if he doesn't ask for you. I would be back to explain everything to you, please stay here. Don't try to leave until I'm back please,ā€ I repeated after taking a bath slowly, my heart pounded as I wondered why the Alpha wanted me in the middle of the night.

ā€œBut why would he want you?" Emily asked.

"I don't know. But you need to relax, don't worry about me. I'm sure I would be fine,ā€ I lied, I wasn't sure, I had not even the slightest reason to trust anyone here aside from the fact that he had brought my sister back to me. And spared me.

" Okay. I trust you,ā€ she said, smiling as I walked out the room not being able to look back at her when I had just lied to her.

"Enter,ā€ the guard at the door said, and I nodded before walking into the now open door.

The door shut behind trapping me in this dark room with no trace of the moonlight getting in.

I blinked rapidly trying to get used to the dark room when I got slammed into the wall.

ā€œYou have five days."

Aradia's POVDawn crept through the heavy curtains of Xior’s chambers, painting the room in soft golds and pinks. I lay awake, tangled in furs and the heavy weight of his arm across my stomach. My body ached in the most delicious ways—reminders of every kiss, every touch, every breathless moment we’d shared in the dark. Heat rose in my cheeks as memories flooded back: the way he’d whispered my name like a prayer, the raw vulnerability in his eyes when pleasure had torn through him, the way he’d held me afterward as if I might vanish.I turned my head to watch him sleep. Peaceful. Almost boyish without the weight of the crown pressing on his brow. No nightmares. No restless tossing. Just deep, healing rest. Because of me.The realization both humbled and terrified me.I tried to slip from the bed, but his arm tightened instantly. Golden wolf eyes cracked open, still hazy with sleep. ā€œWhere do you think you’re going?ā€ His voice was gravel-rough, sending shivers across my bare skin.ā€œE

ARADIA POVThe afternoon sun beat down on the palace training grounds, turning the air thick and shimmering. I stood at the edge of the shaded colonnade, half-hidden behind a marble pillar, watching Xior spar with Kade. Shirtless. Sweating. Every movement a display of lethal grace that made my mouth go dry despite myself.Xior’s muscles flexed as he dodged a powerful swing, his scarred torso gleaming. The wooden practice swords cracked together like thunder. He moved like the predator he was—fast, unrelenting. When he disarmed Kade with a twist of his wrist and pinned him briefly with a boot to the chest, the watching warriors cheered. My traitor heart skipped. Two nights of being held by him, and now this. The memory of his body pressed against mine in the dark, his quiet plea, refused to leave me.He looked up suddenly, as if sensing my gaze. Those dark eyes locked on mine across the distance. The intensity there stole my breath. He said something to Kade, then strode toward me, ig

Aradia's POVMorning light spilled through the tall windows like liquid gold, chasing away the last traces of night. I woke slowly, cocooned in warmth that wasn’t my own. Xior’s arm still lay heavy across my waist, his breath steady and deep against the nape of my neck. For a moment, I let myself stay there—trapped in the impossible safety of his embrace. His scent wrapped around me, wild and dark, like pine needles crushed under boots after rain. My body remembered the feel of him from the night before: solid, unyielding, yet strangely gentle. Then reality crashed back. I was a slave. He was an alpha. And whatever this was, it couldn’t last.I shifted carefully, trying to slip free without waking him. His arm tightened instantly, a low growl rumbling in his chest. Not angry. Possessive. My heart stuttered.ā€œStay,ā€ he murmured, voice rough with sleep. His eyes cracked open, those endless black depths pinning me in place.ā€œI… the servants,ā€ I whispered. Heat flooded my face. What wo

Aradia's POV The door clicked shut behind the servant, and the silence that followed felt heavier than the blood moon itself. I stood motionless in the center of the room, afraid that if I moved too quickly, the illusion would shatter. This couldn’t be real. Silk against my skin, the faint scent of lavender still clinging to my hair, the massive bed that looked like it could swallow me whole. A slave didn’t sleep in places like this. Slaves slept on floors, in corners, wherever their masters allowed. I crossed to the window on trembling legs and pushed the heavy curtain aside. The gardens below stretched out like something from a dream—silver paths winding between hedges shaped like wolves and crescent moons, fountains bubbling softly under torchlight. Beyond the palace walls, the capital glittered with thousands of lights. So many people. So much life. And here I was, dressed like a lady, breathing air that smelled of polished wood and fresh flowers instead of smoke and fear.

Aradia's POV"Come in."Xior's voice startled me. I'd been standing outside the tent for what felt like hours, watching the camp come alive around me. Wolves moved between tents, their eyes tracking me with curiosity and suspicion. I kept my head down and tried to be invisible.I pushed through the tent flap. Xior sat on the edge of his bed, fully dressed now in dark leather and furs. Those black eyes found mine immediately."You will be very useful to me," he said. The words sent ice through my veins. Useful. Of course. I was a slave. A tool he'd bought at market. Whatever strange mercy he'd shown last night, this was the reality. I belonged to him now.I bowed my head. "Yes, my lord.""We're leaving for the capital soon. The maids will prepare you." He stood, moving toward the tent entrance. "Dress her in silk," he called to someone outside. "And pack everything. We leave within the hour."Then he was gone. Two older women entered moments later. They looked at me with the same curio
