Ellie.

"Goddess! Ellie, are you okay?" Lisa takes my hand as soon as I leave the room as she cautiously inspects my form.

People are standing in groups, whispering to themselves. I hate the pity glances they are sending my way.

"Yeah, I'm okay." I shift my eyes to her and force a smile. I am not fine. My heart is shaking, and it is as if I am walking on the shards of a broken glass.

"That's why I hate these packs. That old man's rules are destroying lives. We are not allowed to accept our mates just because we are not equals. A few alphas here are lucky enough to be mated to beta females. If their mate is lower than a gamma, then instant rejection is a must do" Lisa says and sadly sighs.

"Do you have one?" I ask, looking at her, and she shrugs.

"Honestly, I would rather not have one. Haven't you noticed most girls here are dating vampires? Being a wolf is becoming a curse. When our mates reject us, our wolves become weak, and after a very long time, they die, and we are as good as humans. That man will never know that because he keeps his mate at arm's length. These days, most wolves decide to turn," she whispers, and I furrow my brows in confusion.

"How?"

"To avoid becoming breeders for these undeserving males, after rejection, the girls find themselves a vampire, and they turn them into a hybrid. That way, if they are forced, they can't get pregnant for their mates anymore."

"F*ck" I whisper, looking around me at that revelation. I knew this place was extremely strange. We shouldn't have come here at all.

"The King doesn't know about this. If someone doesn't stop his madness, wolves will become the weakest species I have ever known. Only the low rank wolves are enjoying their lives, but us? It's no wonder we are locked here."

"I will use the restroom," I whisper, and she nods while I hurry away. I need space. I have to cool off somehow. I think I hate this world already.

Standing in front of the mirror, I look at my form and sigh. I place my mum's gun on the counter and lean forward.

My eyes are a bright blue. There are tiny golden rims around them, and my long dark hair falls on my back in thick waves.

My skin is fair and I have little curvy hips. I am beautiful. If you ask me, I am the hottest girl in this academy, and maybe that should give me a reason to fight.

I mean, I can't let this beauty go to waste, right?. And if I have to bear babies, then they will be mine, exclusively. And that should be when I am ready. Not at seventeen for f*ck's sake.

"Look at her," A voice sneers behind me, and I don't look back. She must feel so powerful right now. I shift my eyes to the girl behind me and smirk.

She has the guy, right? Then why is she here? Don't they have a wedding to plan? Or perhaps focus on making babies so my life would be at atleast ease.

"Yeah, look at me. I am beautiful, right?" I chuckle and finally turn to face th witch, Kelly.

Her eyes glance from my head to my shoes, and they darken. This b*tch is ugly. I don't know what face is behind that excessive makeup, but I can guess it's nothing to look at twice.

"I will say this once. Stay away from Zane," She says approaching me, and I shrug.

"Well, he's your husband, and I don't see him here," I gesture around us and actually find this ridiculous.

"Don't act smart with me. If it were up to me, I wouldn't want those bastards in my house. Just like my sister tossed your brothers away when they were merely two. But my husband wants them and I will support him..."

"Then why don't you spread those ugly legs for him and start making some. I am sure with enough magic and effort, you might get lucky, right?" I cut her short, and that dull ache appears in my heart again.

"Watch your mouth. You have no idea how easily I can end you right here, and no one will notice," She whispers, and her nails start to form long dark claws.

"I dare you," I whisper.

Just when my fingers touch the gun behind me, a great force yanks me forward, and I am slammed on the wall with unimaginable force.

F*ck*ng b*tch.

I stare into the dark eyes of my assaulter, and I know I should be scared, but for some reason, I am not.

Instead, I feel so much anger and strength surging through my veins. Strange.

"You don't f*ck*ng talk back at me, b*tch. No one does that around here," The girl dangerously whispers, and her eyes turn to dark pits.

"What will you do, witch?" I whisper back, ignoring how her claws are digging into the soft flesh of my neck. I am sure they will leave a mark. Maybe when my mum sees them, she will allow me to stop coming to this sh*t hole of a school.

The girl darkly chuckles.

"You have no idea what I am capable of, you poor peasant." She laughs, pressing harder, and I instantly push her, causing her to stumble a couple of steps back.

"Neither do you."

"How dare you disrespect me?" The girl stretches her hand forward, and dark smoke starts to emit from her palm.

However, an incoming presence causes her to instantly stop whatever magic she was trying to perform and plaster a soft, charming smile on her face.

"Oh, Justin. I was just introducing myself..." The girl turns to my brother with a soft smile, and I scoff.

Pretentious b*tch.

"Stay away from her if you know what's best for you," Justin sneers and takes my hand. I quickly grab the gun and tuck it away in my jacket.

"You shouldn't be alone from now on." The brother with tattoos leads me out of the restroom, and I look back only to lock eyes with dark pits of the witch.

For some reason, my nerves twitch and goosebumps instantly form on my skin.

What did my mum just do bringing us here?

Ellie. "I still think this is a dream. It's so unreal," I loop my arm on my mate's and happily stare at the moon shining in the sky. It's as if she's keeping us company. We are naked and in the wilderness. After our run earlier, we found a perfect spot near a stream and this marks our official hideout. Maybe staying in the pack won't be a bad thing at all. "Yeah," Zane mumbles as he watches the moon too. " Do you believe when I tell you that most of the time I was shit scared?" Zane lowly chuckles and I smile at him I used to feel his anxiety but still, I trusted him. "Honestly, if I didn't meet you, I would have married that witch and wolves wouldn't know peace. Thanks for coming into my life, Ellie. Thank you for making me a strong and independent wolf I am today. Goddess! You have no idea how much I adore you" "I love you too, Zane, and thank you for fighting all the odds for me. You just made history. No one fought a whole kingdom to be with their mate. You make me fe

Ellie. I longingly stare at the hospital room where my mum is being attended to and hope for a miracle to happen. I can't stop shaking and the frequent sighs escaping my lips. "She will be okay," Derek assures for the hundredth time, and I reluctantly offer a smile. We have been waiting for almost two hours. "Will that meeting ever end?" I decide to change the topic. Something to shift my depressing mind. "Probably in two hours or so. Zane is quite stubborn," Derek lowly chuckles. "Aren't you afraid of the witches?" "Who knows, maybe this new alliance will be good for everyone. I don't want history to repeat itself" "Yeah," I mumble. "Do you have a mate? I know about, Justin. What about you?" "I am not lucky yet," my brother says and rubs at the back of his head, appearing nervous. Is he lying? "You are lying," I playfully bump my shoulder to his, and he chuckles. "Okay, I have a girlfriend though. We are only messing around though" "Goddess! Who is she?"

Ellie. The scent of blood becomes apparent and my stomach churns when I smell their scents. No, it can't be. I push myself harder, hoping it's not too late, because I will go crazy if it is. A clearing comes to view and I almost drop down when I register what is happening. A familiar wolf is hovering over my mum's body and tearing through her stomach. This can't be happening, Goddess. 'Mum is in trouble ' I disregard the fact that he's in an important meeting and mindlink him. This old bitch needs to go. Didn't he handle her like they said? I aim at her throat and jump on her. My extended claws mercilessly tear through her neck, and with enough force, I send her flying across the field. How can this bitch be so poisonous to her own son? "I won't ...let her...near my son," the woman shifts back, and I slowly follow her. I am going to give her the most cruel death. Goddess! My heart is breaking. I feel so much anger yet so scared to turn around and look at my mum.

  • Fighting The Cruel Fate    Chapter 60

Ellie. What a long night yesterday was. Another night has passed and everyone is still wandering about. No one slept. Who would? After being away from their homes for so long, everyone is still anxious. After all, our two tormentors escaped and until they are found, I think it's not freedom yet. "You look sad" I look up from my steaming cup of coffee when I hear his voice and reluctantly smile. Of course, I am sad. "Yesterday was my birthday. No one remembered" I mutter and sadly smile. "Oh," Casper mumbles and walks further into the kitchen. A super fancy kitchen that belonged to the previous King. How can someone have all this and still be unsatisfied? What's wrong with rich people? "It's understandable though. No one has rested since the other day. Fuck, we haven't even showered." Casper slightly smiles, and I am glad Zane finally released him. "What are they doing anyway?" All the alphas, the former king's beta and gamma, the queen, Zane, and my brothers h

  • Fighting The Cruel Fate    Chapter 59

Third-person POV. The wolves swam in the Kingdom lowly growling and baring their teeth, ready to destroy anyone who dared invade their territory. 'I will handle Raphael ' Zane mindlinks his people and leaps through the window of the culprit's room. The witches are caught off guard even after being warned earlier. Without their powers, they don't match the wolve's strength. Even if they manage to escape, vampires are all over the pack borders, as backup. Today is the end of their stupidity. It's the end of Raphael's greed. "You can't kill me," Raphael grumbles, but Zane doesn't give him time to talk. The alpha wolf aims at the intruder's neck and bites a huge chunk of flesh, almost beheading him. Seeing this, Raphael realizes that the repellents are still working and that his daughter's words are true. They are truly here. The howls of victory from outside make him aware that he doesn't have backup out there. So, the man does what he does best. Before, Zane can comple

Third Person POV. "Dad," A woman enters Raphael's room uninvited, and the man glares at her in displeasure. Right, another useless daughter. Things would have been better if he had just had one son instead. "You are supposed to be home taking care of business. What the fuck are you doing here?" Raphael questions feeling agitated just looking at her. She has been married to the beta of this pack for over twenty years and she couldn't even keep the man. All the years she wasted here weren't beneficial to him in any way. At least the younger daughter almost achieved something. "The wolves are coming," Sienna urgently whispers, and her father chuckles in mock. Of course, he doesn't believe her. She has always been invisible to her parents. To everyone. All the attention went to Kelly just because she was stronger. But she's just another irrelevant person in their world. Everyone uses her, just like she let that old wolf boss her around just because she was married to he
