Jake stayed in the attic and wasn't fed for what may have been a week and he didn't know if he could take the solitude any more. Jake didn't even know if his father was still here but he didn't dare yell out for help because he knew that if he yelled out for help his father would "help" him in a way no one should be treated. Looking around the attic for the hundredth time that day, Jake looked for a way out; he thought it was pointless until he noticed some light coming behind some boxes on the far right hand side. Jumping to his feet, Jake climbed all the obstacles that blocked his way and reached the wall and found a small window that was just big enough to fit himself through. Jake started to move everything out of the way of the window whenever he heard what he has been dreading since he was left up here.
