Can It Be?

I work through the rest of my weeks in my internship from home. Hudson and I are talking virtually everyday now but I still am not sure what’ll happen the end of the week when my internship is over? I chew on my pen cap thinking about it! I have one last project to finish then it’s over. I’ll have a conference call with the team and we’ll say our goodbyes my stomach clenches thinking about it!

Friday comes and we have the conference call to finish out my report on my research. I bid my goodbyes when we are finished and Hudson stays straight faced. I can’t read his emotions. I’m not sure if he’s like that because the others are on the call or if he’s ready to just forget about me again. I wave goodbye one last time and click off the call before the tears start to burn in my eyes.

Two minutes later my phone rings. It’s Hudson asking me why I ended the call. He text me asking me to stay on after everyone else hung up. He’s telling me he wanted to see my face. I’m a little conf
