I needed to apologize for what Lila had done. At least that's what I made myself believe.
I blew out a breath and then knocked. The door opened.
"You?"
He looked confused. Like he didn't expect it to be me. I didn't blame him though. I wouldn't have expected it to be me either.
I flushed.

"Oh, hi" he greeted.
I shifted my weight from leg to leg. I didn't know how to start up this particular conversation.
"Is there something you needed?" Etienné asked.
"No. Actually, I came to apologize for what Lila did the……" I trailed off not knowing how to continue.
He seemed relieved. What did he think I came here for?
"No problem," he said with a tight smile.
