A knock on the door reminded me that I was still hungry. I tried sleeping to forget but nothing seemed to be working to tame my wild stomach. I hauled my hungry self off the couch and opened the door.

"What do you want?"I said to the frustrating person in front of me.

"What if I told you I brought food, would you let me in?"My hope was renewed. I dragged him by the collar inside my apartment.

"I'll take that as a yes, "He said as he gave me the plate

"What's this?"I  asked out of curiosity

"Chicken fricassee. It's a Parisian dish........."

"I don't need the history mister" I cut him off

"You could be a little more grateful you know," he said with a bored expression

"And who says I'm not grateful?"I asked as I put the food in my mouth.

"It doesn't seem like it," he murmured but I didn't seem to care. At least not now when this food made me feel like I was on top of the world.

I heard a knock on my door. Who was the insane person knocking on my door when I was enjoying a delicacy made by my frustrating neighbor?

"Who's that?"I asked.

"It's Meredith, open up" she yelled and banged the door.

"Go deal with your girlfriend," I told him and went back to my food.

"It's your house, your visitor so go deal with her" he whispered

"Why are you whispering?"I asked

"No reason," he said with a shrug

"I don't like your girlfriend one bit. I hate her with every single living bone, every cell, every nucleus in my body. If I open the door right now she's not going to like it"

He shrugged

"Do whatever you want" he said and hid behind my couch.

"Coward"I muttered to myself.

"Open up....." she stopped midway, seeing the door was open.

"What do you want dimwit," I said and eyeballed her

"Is St Clair here?" she asked and I rolled my eyes

"Of all places to find him you choose my apartment," I said with mock laughter.

"Just answer the question" She seemed to be losing her temper

"He's not here, "I said

"I'm watching you," she told me giving me the stink eye

"Yeah yeah, go disturb someone else," I told her and closed the door.

I sipped my milkshake while Lila talked to me. Don't ask me what because I'm not listening. At intervals, I'd chip in a few 'wow, for real, amazing' and it made her believe I was listening but in reality, my mind wasn't anywhere close to her. My mind was on a certain blue-eyed stranger I had met on my first day in Paris. He was frustrating but he had the body of an archangel. He was a frustrating archangel.

"Krystabel, are you even listening to me?"Lila asked, waving her hands in front of my face.

"Probably no. I was just asking if you had met your neighbor yet" Lila asked with a mischievous smile. I knew that look. She was trying to matchmake me with St Clair and I wasn't going to let her do it.

"Yeah, I have, "I said looking anywhere but her direction.

"He's nice right?" she asked eagerly

"If nice is another word for frustrating then yeah sure," I said and dropped the empty milkshake container inside the nearest bean.

Slurps of the milkshake was the name of the open restaurant we were sitting at. It served one of the best milkshakes I had ever tasted. Paris served the best foods I had ever tasted.

"He's not frustrating, he seems like a good guy and the fact that he's handsome is a bonus mark"  she squealed

"Where's this going to?"I asked with a bored expression dancing on my face.

"He's young and single"

I smiled. It was my time to interrupt and spoil her pretty plan.

"Lila Blackwood is wrong. He has a girlfriend, a girlfriend who is not ashamed to kiss her boyfriend in front of me so no he's not single" I said with my lips curved into a smile.

"Take that Lila Blackwood, no matchmaking of any kind is going to happen. Besides I wouldn't fall for him even if he was the last man on Earth"

"Are you sure about that Hazel?" a voice that had become all too familiar spoke up from behind me.

I turned to face St Clair. He looked like an archangel with the sun highlighting his mouth-watering features.

I scoffed

"You should know the answer to that already"

"I don't, care telling me,"  he said and sat on the stool beside me

"It's a yes, I wouldn't fall for you even if it was to save my life, "I said

He feigned hurt

"I'm still here" Lila spoke up

"Hey Lila" St Clair greeted

"Hi, I was going to get another milkshake do you want one?" she asked directing the question to St Clair, and I

"I want one too," I told her

"Same" St Clair said

"You don't have to buy for him, "I told Lila

"I'll get it for you St Clair" Lila ignored me and left.

"I hate you" I blabbered out

"Why?  "he asked with a serious expression. It was the first time I had seen him seriously since I met him.

"Because you're frustrating and downright annoying" I shrugged

He raised an eyebrow at me

"Seriously," he asked in disbelief

"Yup, "I said, popping the P.

Lila came back with our milkshakes.

"St Clair" a high-pitched voice that I would recognize anywhere called and I groaned. Did I have to see her face today?

"Meredith?"St Clair seemed surprised

"You left me at the mall for fresh air remember"Meredith seemed irritated

"Oh yeah, sorry"He didn't seem too sorry

"Well thank you for keeping St Clair company, especially you....um what's I name again"  Meredith directed the question at me

"Krystabel" I flashed a fake smile of my own.

"Thank you, Babel," she said and I rolled my eyes at her stupidity

"Bye" she waved at us and left with St Clair

"Was it me or was she jealous?"Lila asked once St Clair and his psychopath girlfriend were out of our hearing range.

"She was jealous"I responded

"That's his girlfriend right?"i sipped my milkshake.

"Yeah, since St Clair is gone, more milkshake for me"

She shook her head at me.

"What do you say about another movie night?"
