"I thought you'd never arrive, "I told Lila as she sat on the couch

"I had a busy day besides I would not for anything in the world miss movie night with you, "Lila said and I smiled

"You don't have to, "I told her with genuine concern

"If you can spend hours working without sleeping then I can probably stay a few more hours"

"You're not me, "I said quietly that I doubted if Lila heard me

"I know," she said sweetly. "How about Legacies or Ginny and Georgia?" she asked after a moment of silence

"Why not both?"I told her and took out my laptop from its usual place. I dimmed the lights to give the apartment the vibe of a movie theater.

"Let movie night begin"

I walked inside and just like the last two times, the aroma of the good food they served welcomed me in. I sat on the table and soon enough a familiar voice filled my ears and made my feet curl.

"I see you're back to see me," he said

"Even in your lucid dreams that would never happen"

"Ouch, I'm hurt," he said and I scoffed

"I need good food in my system and this was the first place I could think of" "The only place I could think of"I corrected

"Thanks for the review on our food," he said and I nodded in acknowledgment

"I'll get you something to it," he said. Lunch passed without any more of our usual banter since he was busy and I couldn't lie, a part of me wanted to argue with him but like most of the humane feelings I had, I pushed this feeling to the depths of my heart. After lunch, I decided to plan my dinner which included a mini bowl of ice cream and chocolates. I know too many sweets aren't good but for people like myself who have a sweet tooth, I couldn't resist.

"I don't even know why an old hag like you is still alive" I heard a woman say from the other aisle and I just had to interfere. Turns out it was the woman I met at the airport and...hold up.. wasn't this the girl St Clair was kissing? Was she St Clair's girlfriend? I asked myself. I decided to hold that thought and defend the old woman receiving the younger woman's insults.

"She's years older than you, don't you think it's disrespectful to call her an old hag" I defended

"And who are you to tell me what to do"the younger woman turned

"A concerned citizen, "I said with a shrug

"You shouldn't meddle in other people's business" she snared at me

"You shouldn't insult people that are older than you"  I argued

She scoffed

"She's nothing but a fool, a person who can't do things on her own deserves to be called a hag,"  She said with a mocking smile

"And you are nothing but stupid, a person who can't respect an elder is considered as someone without home training and by what I've witnessed, it's clear that your mother didn't train you properly, "I told her, mirroring her smile

"Don't you dare talk about my mother like that"  she warned

I scoffed

"You feel comfortable insulting someone else's mother but I can't bad mouth your mother," I asked with an incredulous look

"You know what, since you're so concerned about this woman here why don't you help her out with her groceries," she said while throwing all the groceries at me

"You didn't have to"The older woman said

"I had to, let me help you" the woman smiled. I couldn't save my mother from death but I could save other mothers from the harsh realities of life.

Have you ever felt really hungry yet too lazy to stand up from the couch? That's exactly how I felt at this moment. In my effort to help the old woman I had seen this afternoon I had forgotten to get myself dinner. I needed food but I didn't know how to get it without going to the store and it was then I remembered I had a neighbor. St Clair. I know I didn't like him that much but the growl coming from my stomach was enough for me to throw away my pride and go knocking on his front door. He opened the door. He was shirtless. Come to think of it, I had never taken a good look at him. His muscles flexing in their glory, all rippling and swiney. They weren't too big, just the right size, his eyes were beautifully blue as the ocean at night. His lips......

"Are you going to talk or just stand there looking at my drool-worthy body?" he asked with a smirk

I narrowed my eyes at him

"You wish. Do you answer every person who knocks on your door shirtless?" I asked with folded arms

"Only the pretty ones" he smiled at me

"Oh please"

"So what does the lady want  at this time of the night?" he asked using his hands to  rake his hair

"Food,I need food, "I told him

"Hmm" he rubbed his chin "I don't have food," he said with a smile that said 'i'm lying'

"You know I hate you right?"I asked

"That fact could change soon but yeah I know you don't like me"

"So you should know how hard it was for me to come here and ask you for food?" she asked

"No, I don't"

"Baby, what's taking you so long?"someone asked from his apartment.

That voice sounded familiar

"Is that your girlfriend?"

He nodded

A woman came and kissed St Clair and I immediately looked away

"I see you're busy, so I'll come back, " I said

"You!" the woman finally acknowledged my presence

"Hi, I'm Krystabel, your boyfriend's neighbor"I faked a smile. I stretched out my hand for her to shake.

"I'm Meredith, your neighbor's girlfriend. Nice to meet you" she took my hand but instead of shaking me she pulled me into a hug and whispered into my ear

"You're going to regret what you did this afternoon" she released me

Talk about rude and creepy. I thought as I went back to my apartment the same way I went. With an empty stomach.
