Briar Devereux watched her twin sister, Cleo, gaze adoringly up at Caleb Valient. She wondered how her sister didn't notice how Caleb's eyes shift towards Persephone Cristos as she, Orion Cristos, and a young lady who looked familiar as they walked into the elevator. She watched the exchange between Persephone and Caleb.

Cleo continued to chat off Caleb's ear even though it was quite noticeable he was distracted. Briar heard her father's sharp intake and her eyes darted up to him then to where his line of sight was directed. A group of classy and elegantly dressed vampires had walked into the hotel. The flashes from cameras made her realize that they were well-known.

As they got closer, one of them glanced over at Father and a smirk curled upon his face. He didn't even stop just exchanged a look with one of the other males in the group before they passed by.

"Vultures," Father growled, shaking his head. Briar noticed Caleb nod to his assessment. "The whole lot of them."
