“Jack, have you gone nuts?” Alicia yelled.
It’s obvious that Jack followed Lucas home and it’s quite obvious that Lucas didn’t harken to Jack’s warning when he asked him to stay away from Alicia. Something about Jack is, he never listens either. He takes advantage of his father being a congressman to behave like a 'jackass' Alicia called him. He gives no listening ear to the school rules or even respects the law. He wants to let his anger out on Lucas for getting him suspended and for still hanging out with Alicia. He drags Lucas to his feet and landed him another punch.
Alicia wanted to help but he pushed her towards Philip. “Take her to the truck!” said Jack. He makes his way to Lucas and dragged him up once more. “I told you to stay away from her, didn’t I?”
“You will not get away with this,” Lucas mutters. He is used to Jack’s beating but this very punch is times two of what Jack has been giving him.
“You are wrong; I have already gotten away with this!” Jack held Lucas to the wall and punched him severally on his abdomen. He brought his face closer to Lucas' and whispered to him, “Your father will never save you from what I have in store for you.” He dragged Lucas out of his apartment like a beat-down criminal.
Jack made sure no one was watching as he dragged Lucas to the truck. After he pushed Lucas into the truck, he drove out.
“What is wrong with you?” Alicia yelled. She was seated in the back seat of the truck with Lucas who was still trying to catch his breath. Philip was seated at the front with Jack on the wheels.
“You shouldn’t have called off the relationship because of him. You betrayed me and now you are with him, huh!” Jack snapped back at Alicia. Although he still loves her, he is filled with the rage of anger. He wants Lucas to pay for getting him suspended and not listening to stay away from Alicia.
“Don’t do this, whatever you think you want to do,” Lucas squeezes out a few words in his dying breath. He is still feeling pain from the punches and kicking he received from Jack a while ago. No one has an idea of where Jack is taking them but someone should better talk him out of this madness before it gets too late.
“Keep your mouth shut!” Jack yelled as he gazes at Lucas from the rear mirror. He was driving as fast as he could.
“Where are you taking us to?” Alicia asked in a faded tone. She couldn't believe what was happening at the moment. This time, Jack has gone far.
“Sit tight love, you don’t want to be part of this,” Jack replied focusing on the wheels.
SOME MINUTES LATER:
Driving about two miles to the wooded area, Jack was fast enough to see a police patrol car ahead. The patrol car seems to have pulled over and the officer seems to be giving out a ticket to over speeding driver. He didn’t want Lucas and Alicia to scream for the officer's help so he quickly swerve into the woods with the hope of finding another route but unfortunately for them, he followed the wrong way. He didn’t know he was heading for a greenish swarm of alligators.
Jack’s blue truck rammed into an almond tree. The almond tree prevents the blue truck from diving further into the greenish swarm. Too bad Jack and Philip hit their head so hard as a result of the rough crash into the almond tree. There’s no one to get help for them. The patrol officer didn’t see Jack swerving off the road, they are all alone and it was already getting dark.
Lucas realizing what has happened tried to open the door but the door was stuck. “Are you alright?” he glanced at Alicia.
“I will live!”Alicia replied in a tiny little voice of her.
Lucas hastily tried the left door to see if it would open but the door was stuck as well. “Oh no!” he cried out. “This is your doing Jackass!” he hauled insult on Jack. There was no response unlike Jack that would reply to everything said to him.
“Something is not right,” said Alicia as she quickly removed her seatbelt. She began to shake Jack but he isn’t responding.
Lucas didn't pay much attention to Jack or his buddy Philip. All he could think of was how to get out of the mess with Alicia. An idea came to him. Good thing he has seen a lot of movies and how people in his situation got away. With his elbow, he broke the windscreen. “We need to find a way out first and get help.”
“I can feel his pulse but he isn’t moving.”
“What about Philip, can you feel his pulse too?”
“Yes, and they are both bleeding from the nostrils.”
“Reach for their phone, we could use it and call for help.”
Lucas isn’t with his phone and neither is Alicia. They were pulled out of the house without anything on them. Lucas slowly climbs out and gestures to Alicia to get their phones and climb out.
“They have no phone on them!”
“No! No! This can’t be true. Check again!”
“I have but there’s no phone.”
“Check the pigeonhole!”
Alicia hastily pulled open the pigeonhole but there isn’t any phone in there too. It’s already dark and the full moon appeared from behind a blanket of dark gray clouds. They could barely see with just the source of the light from the moon.
Alicia cast a terrified glance at Lucas and whispered in a frightened voice. “We need to get help from the roadside, help me out.”
Lucas didn’t hesitate, he draws closer to help Alicia out but as the moon cast aside its cloudy veil, she caught a glimpse of the glowing half-green eye of a hairy beasty creature staring from behind an oak tree a few paces away from them. Its sharp fangs and claws glistened in the dark. “Lucas, turn around,” she mutters in a frightened voice.
“What’s the matter?” Lucas asked as he flicked around.
“Something is watching.”
“I can’t see anything.” Lucas’ eyes were fixed toward the direction of the oak tree but didn’t see anything or anyone.
“Maybe it’s gone.”
“Is an illusion because you are afraid of the dark, we need to get to the roadside and get help.”
Lucas helped Alicia climb out of the car. She firmly held Lucas as they both made a turn toward the roadside.
Heading towards the roadside, they were a loud growling from their behind. This growling pierced through their ears and caused their heart to skip. Slowly they turned only to behold a 12 feet tall hairy beasty creature with half-green eyes before them. The creature has a snout, fangs in place of teeth, and claws in place of fingers.
“Run!” yelled Lucas.
The moon peeped through the oak tree leaves and faintly lit up the dark path ahead. Alicia flicked around and ran as fast as she could, thinking Lucas was right behind her. Before Lucas could flick around to run too, the 12 feet tall hairy beasty creature pounced at Lucas. The creature buried its fangs into his neck and its claws into his lower abdomen. Pulling out its claws and fangs from Lucas, the creature scratched his chest and then fanged him on the chest. The pain was so excruciating that he had lost his voice to even scream out loud.
Lucas’ eyes began to close slowly as he fights through the agonizing moment of his life. His thought flashed back to his late mother whom the police department believed was killed by a wild bear. Perhaps his fate with her mother is the same. It’s quite clear now that he has to die like his mother.
Alicia let out a loud cry. She became paralyzed in fear that she couldn’t move. The loud cry drew the creature’s attention toward her as the creature switched its attention to her. The creature growled sniffing out smoke from its nostrils.
Just as the hairy beasty creature slowly approaches Alicia, the moon disappeared behind a blanket of dark gray clouds. Realizing the moon has disappeared behind the blanket of dark gray clouds, the creature moved at an accelerated speed. It moved faster than a human speed which made it invisible for Alicia’s naked eye to perceive its movement. Alicia gave a sigh of relief and quickly rushed to check on Lucas. “Lucas!” she yelled. She quickly went on her knees and lifted Lucas by the shoulder. “Please stay with me!” she said. Lucas’ breath is fading away and he is bleeding out really fast. She didn’t know where to begin in stopping the bleeding. At this time, Jack and Philip have regained consciousness. They both approached Alicia who at this time is covered in Lucas’ blood. “Oh, my God!” Jack cried out. “What happened?” he added feeling tensed. He didn’t expect anyone to get hurt. He just wants to scare Lucas and nothing more. From what he has seen, Lucas’ bleeding isn’t a result
Detective White didn’t like Captain Harris' decision. He wants to get to the root of this himself since Alicia has given out her testimony as a witness to a crime committed by Jack Styles and Philip. As Sergeant Shark leads Jack and Philip to the congressman’s car instead of the police patrol car, Detective White was enraged. He approached his captain and confronted him in the presence of Congressman Styles. “What the fuck is this? They should be heading to the precinct for further interrogation and not going home with the congressman!” “Watch the tone of your voice Detective, I can have your ass suspended!” said the Captain as he glances at Detective White with a stone face. He frowns at him although he knows the detective was speaking the plain truth. The captain wants to shield Jack and his friend because he’s the son of a congressman. “Truth will never be hidden even if you suspend me! You have to take them to the…” “Enough Detective!” Captain Harris slammed at Detective Whit
Detective White after dropping off Alicia decided to investigate Route 9, the very place his son was attacked by what he believed was a wild bear that also killed his beloved wife. He pulled over by the roadside and slowly walked out of his car. It was still dark and very soon the day would dawn. His police precinct still considered the place as an act of crime scene. They rounded the whole area with police tape. Detective White didn’t have any source of light with him but that didn't dissuade him. He crossed over the police tape and headed towards the almond tree where Jack’s truck ran into. As he was observing the scene, he heard a pitched howl which was followed by many more as the moon peeped through the almond tree leaves and faintly lit up the dark path ahead. Detective White hastily draws out his service revolver. His best guess was the howling came from wolves. The howls were replaced by ferocious barking which made him tremble with fear. Being alone in the woods at t
Lucas didn’t want to scare his father with his new look. He was really scared that his father would see his new look and scream or even disown him. But his fear didn’t come to life. His father was still seeing his lovely son whom he has always loved and will always love. He kissed Lucas on the forehead and helped him up. Lucas wasn’t sure if his father was in the right sense. ‘Who will see a monster and will not run away from such a monster?’ His thought can’t make any sense to him. He quickly rushed to the mirror only to realize, he was looking normal, with no fangs, no claws, and no glowing eyes. He stares at the mirror for a few seconds and then grinned. “Any problem son?” asked Detective White. “Not at all, I’m fine.” “Good, then you have to return to your bed. You need to have enough rest.” “Alright dad,” Lucas replied putting up a cute smile. He wasn’t sure of what happened and what he did to make himself look normal again. Perhaps what he saw at first wasn’t real but j
Bonnie smirked to herself. It’s now clear to her that Lucas is just being religious because she introduced herself as a witch from the white clan. “This is not the time to play religion.” “If you don’t leave right away, I will call in the…” “There’s no need for that,” Bonnie cuts in. “I will leave but not until you hear me out. Please sit.” “Say what you have to say and get the hell out,” Lucas said as he reluctantly sat on the bed. Bonnie sat on the chair with her legs crossed. She fixed her eyes on Lucas as she opened her mouth to speak. “Weeks ago, I saw a vision about a young man named Lucas White. That’s why I wrote to you that you are the next alpha. With what is happening between the witches’ coven and the werewolves’ clan, I see a savior in you.” Hearing the word ‘werewolves’ didn’t seem new to Lucas. He has seen a couple of movies about werewolves and has read a couple of books about the creatures but to him, they are just folktales and nothing more. They aren’t real
“Who is this dude?” Lucas spoke in a frightened voice. His eyes scanned the 10 feet man from head to toe and what terrified him was the man’s eyes were glowing yellow just like the glowing green eyes he saw in the woods. “His name is Stone, one of the werewolves,” Bonnie whispered. On Stone’s neck was a tattoo of a crescent moon. Around his neck was a pedant with a wooden centerpiece carved into a crescent moon. “Lucas, are you with me or not?” Bonnie whispered as she glanced at Lucas in expectation of what he had to say. She was curious if Lucas has made up his made to come with her or not. She doesn’t want to engage with Stone knowing that Lucas will join them. She wants to be sure where his loyalty lies before she risks her life defending him. Lucas took a hurried look at Bonnie and squeezes out his words frightfully, “Yes, I’m with you!” “You don’t know what you are talking about!” roared Stone with a soft snarl. He furrows his brows switching his gaze at Lucas as he continued
“It’s not a good thing.” Bonnie lowers her head to avoid eye contact with Lucas. Lucas lifted his brows and cast his burning gaze on Bonnie.“What do you mean it’s not a good thing? Is that the answer I seek? I’m here because I believe you have answers for me concerning what attacked me last night.” “You mean who attacked you?” Ann cuts in. “Enough Ann!” Bonnie snapped at her. She didn’t want to break the news to Lucas in such a manner that would make him want out. They have to take it slowly with him if they must get him on their side. Lucas glanced at Bonnie and Ann in desperation“I’m still waiting. What is the werewolf curse?” Bonnie seeing the determination in Lucas’ eyes finally gave in to his curiosity as she opens her mouth to speak. “Werewolf curse is the ability of every werewolf to manifest supernatural abilities like, accelerated healing, accelerated speed, enhanced hearing ability, and the list goes on.” Lucas’ grew wild in his thinking as he wondered why all these abi
“I requested for it sir but the management of St Leo’s hospital claims it was erased." He paused and then continued. "I think the surveillance footage was erased after the attack.” “Since when do animals have the knowledge to destroy evidence after their attack?” Detective White's face turned pale and looked depressed. He wants proof of what happened but no clue or even evidence. He still believes what killed his late wife might be the same wild bear that attacked his son and possibly come back to finish off his son but the nurse became the victim. He wants things to make sense rather than him getting stuck in theories of facts without proof. He makes his way to the receptionist hall and gently pulled his son to a corner after he asked Alicia to excuse them. “I need you to tell me what attacked you in the woods.” Lucas was startled by his father's question. He paused for a few seconds narrowing his gaze down and staring at the tiled floor. He slowly lifted his head and
