Chapter 6

I looked into my camera and stared at every photo that I took at that wedding. I stared at the newly wed couple and they looked really beautiful and happy together. The woman has brunette locks of hair with a huge smile on her face while the man is skinny, has tanned skin and has a chiseled face structure. They both looked good together with all of these pictures. Then a picture of Neil who was standing at the buffet, looking sad among the crowd. And I wonder what are those reasons why he has a face like that.

"Ella!"

My head turned when my aunt suddenly knocked on my door. I put the camera down on the side table then I opened the door. It was my aunt, dressed in almost a formal outfit like she was about to meet her sugar daddy.

"Why are you so dressed up, Auntie?" I asked with a confused look.

"Get yourself dressed! We'll be meeting someone today."

"Huh? Who?"

"It’s a guy. And you seriously need to meet someone.”

I gave her a grimacing look. "Auntie, I told you I am not ready for all this shi—"

"You have an hour. Hurry!" Then she closed the door. This is going to make me end up working with Neil. I hate people seeing me here in this house, because they would always connect me with someone else, whether it's a job or a boyfriend.

I was lazy in preparing for the said meeting. I just picked up a green dress with polka dots on it, some heels that were not too high, then I fixed my unruly hair. I applied some makeup since I didn't know how to do it anyway so I ended up just powdering my face and put on some lipstick. Afterwards, I went down the stairs and greeted my aunt.

"Who is it this time? Cristabel's friend's cousin?" I asked sarcastically as I walked past at Aunt.

"What are you wearing?" she asked with a frowned expression.

I sighed. "You said it was a guy."

"Yeah! Not applying for a job!"

I clicked my tongue. "Let's just go. I am too lazy to get this off." Then I head towards the door. I heard my aunt sighing then followed me right after.

We drove all the way to a restaurant and parked in an empty lot. Then we entered there and we were greeted by a large fish tank which contained sea creatures that were possibly going to be served to the customers.

"They're already here," Auntie whispered as we looked around. Then her eyes stopped at the table where a woman and a familiar young fellow were seated. They waved their hands at us and my eyes widened when I knew that it was John Greene, the guy that I met at the supermarket.

I followed auntie going to their table then she and her friend who appears to be John's mother exchanged kisses on their cheeks while giggling and talking to each other.

"Oh this is my niece, Ella."

"Oh hi darling! You look adorable!" the woman exclaimed with a friendly smile. I smiled back at her as we took our seats at the table. My eyes were at John who looked surprised when he finally realized that he knows me.

"She has no one with her in the house so that's why I brought her with me," Auntie said. Gosh! She's going to embarrass me again, especially in front of John.

"Wow! I'm glad that you brought her here. Well, John here just wants to eat with me because we haven't eaten together for days! Right, hon?" the older female asked John then he nodded.

"Oh, why is that?" Auntie asked.

"I was busy with work," John answered in a gentle and manly manner. Then his smile flashed back at me again, making me have a crush on him.

"What's your job?" Auntie asked.

"I was a bodyguard and a butler to Gerald Kronos and his daughter," he said.

Kronos. Why is that name familiar?

"Oh, you mean the CEO of the Kronos industries?" Auntie asked in a surprise. The mother and John nodded.

"Oh my god! You're literally living in a castle!" Then they laughed at my Auntie's corny joke. I just smiled to join with the conversation. But I was surprised too that he has a fine job.

"So how is it there? I wanna know because I used to sell their products online," Auntie said.

"It's quiet," John answered and we all nodded for his short answer.

"Like uh... There's no pretty much to tell aside that their mansion was big and full of expensive furniture."

"Yeah. We understand," his mother said. "And you even stay and sleep there so we barely see each other often."

John smiled as the two old women continued their conversation about the Kronos industry and other topics related to it. For some reason, I wanted to talk to John either but these two women were overlapping the whole scene. But I'm glad that I crossed paths with him again. And turns out that he was my Aunt's friend's son.

After the dinner, we bid our farewell to the both of them then we stepped inside the car. Then my Aunt glanced at me while John and Mrs. Greene was waving at us.

"Aren't you going to ask or talk to him? So at least you guys can exchange numbers and—"

"Auntie, you literally dominated the conversation with your friend. And I'm fine."

"Well, he's a handsome fella, isn't he?" she teased me with an annoying smirk. Well, she's right anyway.

I just didn't say anything anymore and Auntie started the engine of the car and drove away.
